I couldn't go to services this morning because of my wife's work schedule but I went last night for Easter Vigil.
It was beautiful being dark out. Three people were baptized and 4 confirmed so it was a very special night.
I hope the Easter Bunny leaves you something nice!

Dear Erin:
So sad to read that you were not able to your attend Easter Sunday church service in person.
Please do try to make the best of it, watch a service on YouTube, play some Easter Hymns that you can find on YouTube and elsewhere on the internet.
Hopefully soon, some of your restrictions will be lifted so you can get back to "normal."

Wishing you a Happy Easter and hopefully you can celebrate as best as you can.

Your post hit me, and highlighted the empty feeling I have inside.  It is sunny here, the snow is gone.  It is 66 degrees (f) here.  But being able to go to church on Easter morning is not possible.  Some churches are meeting for limited groups, many are online only.  I could live with that.  My church decided to meet live in the building, for the first time in over a year, for Palm Sunday.  One had to pre-register.  Oh was I eager, and naive...  Saturday before I got the message if you are in a high risk group (I am) and have not had the vaccine (not available here, at least to me) to wait for a better time.  That was a great big cold prickly.

Glad to hear you can go to church!  Happy Easter!

Easter Sunday afternoon UPDATE:

As forecast it is snowing heavily and it is quite cold, not below zero, but cold enough in the teens (degrees f)

My Tooth-Fairy Sweetie and I just arrived at her home after a very good Easter Sunday church service.

We are combining and sharing our cooking and baking skills to prepare a nice holiday dinner.

Appetizers:   Deviled Eggs, Cheese & Ritz Crackers, raw Veggies with Ranch dressing.

Dinner:  Ham, Cheesy Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Pistachio Jello Salad and a relish tray of
Pickles, Olives,

Dessert: Red Velvet Layer Cake

After dinner we have invited a few friends over to share desert and coffee.

I trust that my readers, followers and forums friends are having a good day today
in spite of the Covid lock-downs and restrictions.
Be as positive as you can be, and enjoy the day as much as possible.

I thought I lived in a backwater place that was last in the supply chain, but we have vaccines for anyone with high risk conditions, and anyone over 55 YO.

Thank you for your reply comment.   My Easter Sunday was lovely.   
Church service was very nice and our dinner and afternoon were terrific.

Dinner came out very nice ... it was a joint effort between me and my Tooth-Fairy Sweetie.
We did have 2 gal friends from our Gym-Gals group accept our invitation to come for cake and coffee.


It snowed most of the day... very pretty but cold.
Later in the evening we sat in front of the fireplace and enjoyed the warmth.

I trust that your Easter Sunday went well for you and  your loved ones.
Again, thank you for your comments and replies on my thread.

UPDATE:   Monday Evening, April 05, 2021

Work at my office was slower than usual at my office today ... 
....I blame it on the April 15th IRS Income tax deadline being extended to May 17th
and also there was quite a bit of snow that came down on Sunday and today.

Winter is still hanging on tight up here.  The temperatures have been Below Zero for both
yesterday and today... tonight it is forecast to be about  minus -7 degrees (f)

The days are getting longer however so that is a sign that the Spring weather is just around
the corner.   
Sunrise today was at 6:22AM and Sunset was at 8:23PM

When I got home after work in the afternoon I took a walk in the snow with my tooth-fairy in the nearby woods.
She took the picture of my backside as I was trudging and slogging through the snow... when
we got back into my home we sat in front of my fireplace and we toasted our toes to warm up
and to dry off.
               

I trust that all of my friends and followers are doing OK this Spring in spite of the Covid issues.

Yes indeed, the Winter Weather HERE is not giving up easily.
Right now it is snowing heavily, and temperatures have been dipping to Below Zero (f)

Early this morning it was minus -7 degrees(f) with fairly brisk winds, so the "Wind Chill"
temperature is sometimes down to minus -22 deg(f)   BURRRR !!!!!
Tomorrow (Friday) is forecast to be even colder... 
...down to minus -22 deg(f) without the Wind Chill factor.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 6 PM AKDT FRIDAY...

WHAT...Snow and blowing snow with low visibility expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Total snow accumulations of up to 10 inches are expected. Blowing snow will reduce visibility to one half mile or less at times. Wind chills to -40 below expected.

WHERE...Along the Alaska Highway in the Upper Tanana Valley and the Fortymile Country.

WHEN...4 PM Thursday to 6 PM Friday.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northwest winds gusting to 40 mph will develop this afternoon and continue into Friday. The winds will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow with low visibility. Cold wind chills to -40 below zero will develop tonight and could cause frostbite in as little as 10 minutes to exposed skin. The worst conditions are expected tonight.

You must really love living up there. For this Native Southern California girl, anything below 50f is way to cold.  I want my sunshine

I thought I lived in a backwater place that was last in the supply chain, but we have vaccines for anyone with high risk conditions, and anyone over 55 YO.

I live in a backwater place with delusions of grandeur.  On Good Friday I made the 85 mile pilgrimage to the nearest critical medical center and got the first shot.  The second shot is scheduled for April 24th.  Then allowing 14 days I can hopefully go to church on May 9th.  What hurt was the church doubling back and saying I needed the vaccine the very day before this first service in over a year.  Yes a true back end of nowhere.

The Homeowners association sent an email with links to get on vaccine waiting lists.  I have tried a few of those to no avail.  I am an established patient with the center I visited -- so they let me sign up from their patient portal.  The local place ... no such luck.  And on April 18th the state is opening eligibility to everyone.  Meanwhile people at high risk are driving many, many miles to get vaccinated.

That sort of makes hiding in Alaska sound like something of a better deal, despite daffodils being up here and 70 degree (f) weather...

Monday Morning...  April 19, 2021
I am in my office very early this morning, it is just 6:15AM and I am already very busy... 
I usually don't have a fondness for Mondays and today is no exception....   

Since the IRS Tax Deadline was officially delayed until May 17th ....
....my normal rush of tax prep clients was also delayed. 
Usually the first 2 weeks of April are a big rush for my clients to get their
Federal Income Tax returns filed before the infamous April 15th deadline.

Last week and on Saturday I had a lot of tax work dropped off in my office. 
My full time and my part time help will be helping me to sort through the
envelopes and boxes of tax records that were brought in by the procrastinators.
 
I usually do a TRIAGE  of sorts to get the simple and easy tax return
filings done first, and filed and out of the way, so I can spend the appropriate
time needed for the more complicated tax work for my private and business clients.
This will certainly keep me and my hired help busy.

As I have always stated in my past "Ramblings"...
              "Busy People are Happy People"
.... so I am most certainly a very Happy girl !!!!!
