privacy on susan's
« on: March 10, 2020, 07:19:48 pm »
I just started a member blog and now I'm wondering how public it might be!

Can susan's forum pages come up in search engine results?  Are the forums crawled by google?  How many times have people been involuntary outed by someone finding their info on susan's?   :icon_eek:

Thank you Danielle for your very straight forward answers.  Yikes, maybe I should have thought this out more.

@madeleine
The good news is that if you change your Avatar Photo every few days.... the photos might not even be shown and if they are they will eventually go away fairly quickly on the search pages... and also your email address, your IP address, your birthday and your location that you enter in your Forums profile page is not viewable in web searches.

Nice to know, although I didn't add those things.  Time to change my avatar anyway!

Yes, and it's probably how you, and many others, found the site.  :)

Exactly. True for most social media sites but at least Susan’s isn’t selling our data on!
