Gays have their anthems like The Weather Girls - It's Raining Men or Village People "YMCA" but do transgender people have their anthems?? Give your suggestions ...

Possibly something from Rocky Horror Picture Show. Sweet Transvestite or Time Warp maybe.

Hi Andrea - There are lot's of trans themed songs out there, but to rise to the level of "Anthem", one song that comes to mind that may qualify  ;D

"so how could they know ?"

Rebel Rebel - David Bowie (1974) - A true classic, love it.....

CynthiaAnn, I remember listening to this as a teen and it just blew me away that someone was singing about crossdressing! This was the late 70s, early 80s and crossdressing and transexuals were jokes or aberrations for most people.  But Bowie and Lou Reed were singing about it and I was listening very closely.  But I wouldn't know why for a long time.

Not really an "Anthem",

yet one song that was like really deep in the early 90's, and the whole album is simply great...

Suzanne Vega - As girls go , love the guitar solo outro, it's a real bender....

That's an interesting one.  The line "did you ever keep the date with the steel side of the knife?" is quite telling.  And "It doesn't matter to me what side of the line you happen to be"

Cool outro as you note Cynthia!
Wind blew in, cloud was dispersed
Rainbows appearing, the pressures were burst
Breezes a-singing, now feeling good
The moment had passed like I knew that it should
