Hello Susan's Place Community!

My name is Steve Holland, I am a doctoral student in the Department of Human Movement Sciences at Old Dominion University and a trans-affirmative physical education researcher and cis man. I am conducting a study examining the physical education experiences of trans* adults in the United States and the meaning individuals ascribe to their experiences. This study has been approved by IRB at my university.

I am looking for participants who are between the ages of 18 and 25, identify as transgender, and are no longer enrolled in K-12 education. Individuals will be asked to complete this survey (https://forms.gle/TBxYXfvooKrzJkzn9) and participate in a telephone or video conference interview with the researcher. All interviews will be completed via Zoom and participants will be provided with a link to the Zoom call to limit the amount of information requested of participants. Participants will be asked to provide a pseudonym when expressing interest, which will be used during your interview as well as the publication of findings to ensure your anonymity. Your name will not be collected or asked at any time. Participants are able to withdraw at any time or opt to not answer any question asked by the researcher. If you have any questions, please reach out to me by email at sholl012@odu.edu.

Thank you,

Steven Holland (he/him)

I have spoken to the author and this is the timeframe for the study:

"I am beginning data collection now and will continue to schedule and plan interviews over the next 2-3 weeks with the hope of completing all interviews by July 23rd. I am looking for approximately 5-10 participants."
