Hello :)
« on: September 16, 2020, 11:04:31 pm »
Hello, everyone. I'm a huge dork by the name of Yukina. :) While I born a guy, I never really adhered to a gender. Or at least, I was called a boy, but I never personally went out of my way to present male (I just "thought of myself as me"). I'm on the spectrum, so I kind of had (and still have) a cynical view on social norms anyway. I've had feelings that possibly I identified more as a woman on and off the past several years, but finally having the time in the latest period to think clearly about it (seeing as the pandemic has me trapped inside) let me confirm for myself. I had my first therapy session this week and I'm currently looking into HRT (or at least, cobbling what i can find about it).

Congratulations, Yukina, on your first therapy session.  ;) Often times, just taking the time to tell someone else about our most private, inner feelings will reveal to our own self many things that we never realized.  :o Add to this the clinical expertise of someone specifically trained in gender issues will open many paths on how you wish to live your life.

Be open and honest with your therapist. Don't hold anything back, either. They have heard it all and what you are experiencing is much more common than many people think.

Take care and see you around.  :-*

Thank you, Rakel. So far, even though I've only really had the first session (for question intake and stuff), my therapist has been great. :) We're on the same level of snark, so being at least honest with those questions eventually became a bit easier after a while.
