an update, a few months in
« on: September 20, 2020, 11:11:09 am »
Hey, everyone! I can't believe it's been so long since I've signed in. I'm currently going to school full time as well as working 30 hours a week, so free time is scarce these days.  :-X

My partner, A, is nonbinary, transitioning MTF and last week was approved for an increased dose of progesterone after blood work came back with less obvious results than we wanted. We're super excited about this--but unfortunately, their doctor sent their blood to a lab that was out-of-network, and we've just been struck with about $7000 in medical bills, which we really can't afford. We're working with the lab and doctor to get it reduced as much as we can, but it's so hard to get a response from people. It's been a week since A left a voicemail for their doctor, and we have yet to get a call back.

But we're trying to focus on the positives! I've noticed over the past few weeks that A is just happier in general. They're more talkative, more confident, and more affectionate. Their libido seems to be coming back slowly, and I'll admit I'm a little impatient (they couldn't keep up with me even with testosterone in their system lol), but more than anything it's just good to see A feel so much more comfortable in who they are.

Anyway, that's about it for us. Progress with the transition has been slow, but it's there, and we're looking forward to seeing more change in the next few years.  :D

@KMJoan
Thank you for logging in after your month and a half absence from the forums.
Your update reads like things are going well for you and your partner....
I am very glad to read your good news.

Regarding your work and school schedule...  I did much the same as you wihile I was going to college and earning my MBA and a couple undergrad degrees.   For many years I held one or two jobs throughout the year and had a full load of graduate classes.   It was tiresome and was very hard to do all of that, but looking back it was well worth the effort.

Wishing you well as you continue on toward your personal and your academic goals.
As you feel so inclined, please keep the updates coming.

Best wishes to you and your partner,
Warmest regards,
Danielle

That is great news about you and your partner, but I do hope you can get your medical bills fixed to the best of your ability. Congrats on the rest! So nice to hear it. :)

I am non-binary and my partner is also transitioning M2F. She is about to start hormones and we are also excited here. It's great to hear from others going through the same experiences.
