This evening I was looking outside my window and saw two deer.
I closed the blinds and watched them eat some acorns from the Burr oak trees.
One came up to about six feet from the window with one of its big eyes appearing to look right at me it seemed but she kept on eating, likely not noticing me behind the blinds.  So I kept watching for awhile.

That was fascinating!

Be a good example of good behavior.  Always be kinder than needed.  Be tender to others.  You are as beautiful as the thoughts you think and the words that you speak.   Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding.  Knowledge and action shown without love is not impressive.  If you look for the good in people you will find it. Healthy relationships are so important to good living.  Serve others.

Good living, joy, unity, love, and happiness can come from following these practices: Never let selfishness or conceit motivate you.  Regard others as more important than yourself.  Do not limit attention to only your interests, but include the interests of others

Dear Chrissy:
Like most people I love observing wildlife, and where I live there is plenty to see and close up in my back yard almost every morning and evening. ... but keeping them out of and destroying my flowers and  raising havoc in my vegetable garden is an ongoing task.

I need to keep my outdoor garbage locked up in a sturdy shed to keep the bears and other animals out of it before I can burn it or take it to the dump.

High fences and an outdoor dog is about the only recourse most people up here utilize.

HUGS,
Danielle

I saw three raccoons this morning.  It was dark out, it still is.
I also heard at least one owl. I also saw an opossum.

Owls are special, Chrissy. This past summer, I heard an owl in a tree and some crows were worrying it. I've a talent for imitating animal sounds, so I called like the owl and the crows came flying to me, squawking and looking for the new owl. Then the real owl called again and the crows winged back to it. Then I made my owl call and they returned to me. I loved that moment!

Another time, an owl glided over me. If I hadn't been looking up, I would have missed it as it was that silent in flight.

It is interesting just seeing fish swimming in a lake.

I guess it does not take very much to give me pleasure!

It is nice to have wildlife in the world.

@ChrissyRyan
Dear Chrissy:
The 2 Moose shown in my picture are females/cows, they can weigh 450 to 1200 pounds

Bull Moose (males) are much bigger and can weigh 850 to 1700 pounds... and up to 2000 pounds.

They are big animals and are known for being very aggressive....
....so stay clear of them!!!

Seems like they could plow right through a wooden fence if they so desired.
Maybe not with wire also in the fence.  They are big.

my wife and I were in AK 5 or so years ago and drove from Anchorage to Glennallen to visit her uncle.  On the drive back we saw 6 or 7 moose (meese?) on the side of the road, a few bulls and some cows.  It was dark, we were super tired and I just remember thinking man if one of those ran out in the road we'd be toast.

I had seen moose in Maine before when I lived there and they're massive, but the AK meese are in a different league.

Dear Jamie:
I had to chuckle when I read your post and you mentioned "Meese" ... there is no such word.
The word for Moose, just like the word for Deer, are pluralized by adding an adjective such as
"many Moose:"  "several Moose"  "multiple Deer"    ....
We don't say Mooses or Meese, Deers, etc.

Why Is the Plural of 'Moose' Not 'Meese'?
       https://sports.yahoo.com/linguistic-reason-why-plural-moose-171552165.html

"Despite the Goose/Geese argument,  whose singular form rhymes with that of "moose" might suggest, the plural of "moose" is not "meese." It's just "moose." One moose, three moose, a herd of moose."

Anyway, you are correct, Moose are massive and aggressive
, they will unpredictably charge a human even if they are not being approached.

Thanks for sharing and posting.
HUGS,
Danielle

I love to watch the local raptors, kestrels, sparrow hawks, buzzards, barn owls and my favourite red kites. Heard but never seen tawny owls. Watching the kites fly sometimes in numbers of a dozen or more is amazing.

My garden has a number of other bird visitors too that I can watch from the kitchen. Last spring I could see a nesting hole in the eaves next door and watched a pair of long tailed <not allowed> flying in and out all day feeding their young until they fledged.

Before I moved I used to back onto fields and often had pheasants and muntjac deer in it. I live in a small town now so these are no more to be seen.

Early morning twilight and early evening dusk are dangerous times on the roads around here....
.... the Deer are quite dumb and will stand in the middle of the road or even jump right in front of oncoming vehicles.

My yard can have up to a dozen deer in it....  they are pests when it comes to my flowers and garden, they can easily jump a 5 or 6 foot fence if they are motivated to do so.
