hello everyone <3
« on: October 14, 2020, 05:13:01 pm »
Hello everyone! I thought I might join because everyone here seems so nice, unlike  <not allowed>  some other places I frequent.

My name is Joanna, or just Jo, and I'll be 28 soon. I realized I was trans at the start of the year after thinking "I couldn't possibly be trans" for about 9 years or so. In early March I started on hormones so it's been almost 8 months now.

For the last few years I've worked as a software engineer, but my career has been really crazy so far with Covid. I've been laid off twice this year through no fault of my own because the companies I was working for were doing so poorly!

I went to a private liberal-arts college, but I was kind of a conservative back then—I even voted for Trump in 2016! I didn't realize what I was doing because I was so brainwashed by the way I was brought up, you know? I always wanted to please the people around me and I didn't realize that I had sacrificed my own beliefs somewhere along the way or considered that perhaps other people had control of me mentally. Maybe it's just a growing-up-in-Texas type thing.

I'm super fortunate to be in a loving relationship with my fiance who's pansexual. She's been super supportive and she was with me before I figured out—in fact, she said she knew, but she wanted me to figure it out on my own. My other friends said the same thing, I almost wish they had grabbed me by the shoulders and shook me or something 9 years ago!

Hopefully I will be able to check this often and meet everyone! I think it will be really nice to find a family!

Welcome Joanna!

Be a good example of good behavior.  Always be kinder than needed.  Be tender to others.  You are as beautiful as the thoughts you think and the words that your speak.   Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding.  Knowledge and action shown without love is not impressive.  If you look for the good in people you will find it. Healthy relationships are so important to good living.  Serve others.

Good living, joy, unity, love, and happiness can come from following these practices: Never let selfishness or conceit motivate you.  Regard others as more important than yourself.  Do not limit attention to only your interests, but include the interests of others

It is not usually about how fast you transition, it is about how well you transition.

Hello and welcome Joanna. How I'd D I E to be anywhere CLOSE to twenty anything!!! I started my transition when I was 49 and I've been transitioning for the last 2 years. You're probably going to turn out perfect since you are so young, so please enjoy being young and fortunate to have found yourself at an early age!! I know I can't really complain since my avatar is recent and not taken with a filter. I thank God everyday I was given good DNA and genes from my parents.

Welcome to the foremost authority on transgender information. You will find people here willing to answer your questions and make suggestions should you need guidance.
