A lovely nurse just came to take a blood sample, apparently for type, just in-case I need a transfusion.

Just been told that I can, in fact eat until 0600 tomorrow - as my surgery is in the afternoon. They're going to bring me some toast early in the AM for a light breakfast.

@Megan.  @Devlyn
Thankfully in this day and age you have the ability to Facetime or Skype with each other while you are physically apart.
Wishing you well Megan. with your procedure and wishing you well Devlyn with your temporary separation from your sweetie.

HUGS,
Danielle

An EARLY 0530 breakfast of some cereal before I'm nil-by-mouth for the day ahead.

I did get some sleep, but not great last night.

At bed time I took the chance to reflect back on things and had a little cry. More than twenty five years ago, a young teenager struggled with their feelings. They hid what they wanted and their real-self from the world for so many years. They would listen to music alone and use their imagination to picture themselves in a different world and a different body, a self-taught coping mechanism, it was all they had.

Today, all going well, that young person might finally have some peace.

As lingerie goes, paper pants don't rate high on the sexy-scale - at least not on mine!

Today, I shall mostly be wearing these...

My BP, temperature and pulse-ox continue to be measured every 4-6 hours.

All my readings have been rock solid and exactly where they should be.

The staff are all very friendly here, which should make this stay far more pleasant.

0800 was enema-o'clock! It's just one new experience after the next...

I can still have fluids until 1000, so I'm taking in plenty of water.

Someone recommend to me to get a big water bottle to drink from, I second this suggestion, much better than the small glass and paper straw given by the hospital.

Last shower and hair wash for a while...

Finally got into my oh-so-sexy gown and TED stockings.

They gave me a pair of snuggly grippy socks, so bonus!

... And yes, the socks are on correct, they have 'tread' on the top AND bottom.

It seems that Parkside hospital does now provide SoulSource dilators, but only the 1 1/8" and 1 1/4" sizes.

Won't be needing these babies for a few days yet...

I've been visited by the anaesthesiologist who explained about the general anaesthetic and that there would also be a local done in my lower spine for the pelvic region.

Mr Bellringer then came, he ensured I was fully informed of all different and potential risks.

Nothing left now but the waiting...
