Just got off a call with Megan, she's on her way down to the surgery suite. If anyone needs me, I'll be pacing for the next couple hours.  ;)

Yes, I'm out, same feeling quite zonked.

Quite a bit of discomfort when's came around in recovery. I've been using my press-button pain relief quite heavily, but it's limited to prevent trouble.

Surgery was a total of about 2.5 hours.

I'm now back in my room.

My lower back is very sore - I have back problems in but I'm able to lie on my side which is much more comfortable.

Overall, with the pain relief, I'm at about a two out ten discomfort level.

It's 0100 here. The nurse just came in to give me another DVT jab, standard procedure to manage risk.

My pain levels are now down to 1-2, mild discomfort, and I've not used my 'magic button' pain drug for several hours, just paracetamol and ibuprofen.

I'm getting some good sleep, and my head is far less fuzzy than it was.

Overall, right now, I feel better than I thought I would, and seem to be causing the nurses no concerns.

I continue to be quite comfortable. The nurse just gave me 0600 first breakfast of paracetamol and laxative, so I guess that's a clue of their expectations today!

I'm taking in plenty of fluids now. Otherwise it's R&R today until my compression bandage comes off later.

Currently getting waves of pain from gas, which I think is quite common. A good sign my digestive tract is cranking again after the general anesthesia yesterday.

My nurse tells me they'll try to get me up for a short walk later, while they monitor my blood pressure which has a risk of dropping and causing a subsequent tumble - not good!

Mr Bellringer just visited and peeled back the compression dressing.

He said it all went as expected, but he had to modify his technique due to the excess skin I have from weight loss.

He seemed in a good mood and happy with what he saw, so I guess I am too :-)

I've now had a chance to get a good look, and I'm happy. She still hasn't got a name yet however, so I'll get working on that...

They've also taken away my morphine feed, no more fun for Megan, hmmpff!
