When i do, think i have a lovely pamper day (facial, nails, haircut), and some shopping :)
This ain't a song for the broken-hearted
No silent prayer for the faith-departed
I ain't gonna be just a face in the crowd
You're gonna hear my voice
When I shout it out loud
It's my life
It's now or never
I ain't gonna live forever
I just want to live while I'm alive
(It's my life)
My heart is like an open highway
Like Frankie said
I did it my way
I just want to live while I'm alive
It's my life

I had been seriously planning and preparing to go Full-Time before I started HRT... and when the day came to finally go Full-time I quit my male-mode executive job and I gathered up all of my male-mode clothes and shoes and donated them... and threw out all of my male cosmetic items and accessories.

Like Hernán Cortés (Spanish conquistador) did in the 16th Century when he came to the New World to claim Mexico for Spain... he burnt his ships so there was a clear message to his men that there was no going back.

@Devlyn
Dear Devlyn:
There definitely comes a time in transitioning that there is no longer an option to be in male-mode....  male-fail becomes a frequent reality if not going full-time at the right time.

Thank you for sharing!!!  :)

When I went full time I had a complete pamper day - exactly as you are thinking! I also threw out the last few Male clothes I had left - I was left with nothing from my dead self and it felt awesome! (And 40 months on it still does!)
Then the next day was my first day at work. And it’s just been wonderful ever since! Xx

I went in wearing a dress and low heels. By the end of the day I had to sign a paper saying that I had read, understood, and agreed to the company dress code (dated that day): "Trousers and no open top shoes."

Were there no other women at your company then?

I was the only female presenting person on the production floor. I'm not a woman, I just
look like one...on a good day, that is.

I think my company had to write some amendments to some policies when I went full time but a new dress code is quite impressive

I did not do anything special.  Going full time at that moment made a lot of sense to me.  I think I wore bermuda shorts, some type of light feminine casual top, flip-flops and a big smile on my face as I stepped into a new habit of presenting and living to "All" my friends and acquaintances.  I do not think that I have ever dressed in male mode since that day for any reason whatsoever!!  I was happy then and still am.  Yeah women!!!

Allie

PS:  Unfortunately, I never marked that special day in my calendar and do not even remember the month!  That being said, losing that bit of nostalgia has not hurt me one bit.

I didn't know that I was going to end up being full time on the day I actually ended up going full time.  It was my court date for my name and gender change.  After it was done we went out to lunch (my wife and I.)  As it turns out, I have never presented as male since some time prior to that date, thus I consider it as the day I went full time.

Full time kind of snuck up on me too.  I am a teacher, and my district went to full online learning in March 2020.  At first I would dress in full male clothing to work.  Over time I ended up dressing in women's clothing and putting on a male shirt over whatever I was wearing.  If I was going out, which wasn't often then, I would wear male clothing.  As things opened back, and I would go places I just stopped changing.  By the end of the school year I considered myself "most of the time."  Once the school year ended I informed my colleagues and selected family friends I realized I truly had nothing to hide.  I think the only thing I did was walk normally (instead of sneaking like I had been) to the car, and I walked up the street to check the mail.

Some of my favorite realizations in transitioning are when I realize I am doing something any other woman would do.  The joy I feel just walking out my front door and into the world, just like billions of women do everyday, is amazing.

For me it was kind of odd. I moved to a different city for my new job. I had told my colleagues that I was transgender, but had specifically ask them to still use male pronouns and old name, "until I was comfortable enough as a woman". and as soon as I arrived and introduced myself to my new coworkers, all of them started using female pronouns and my new name lol. So I guess I consider that the day I went full time (?). And that day I just went for a walk around my new neighborhood and had dinner at a Thai spot. I guess I needed to take things easy for the rest of that day, as the surprise of my new identity being accepted and respected so swiftly and kindly left me a tad overwhelmed lol.

It took me a while to get used to people calling me my new name and chosen pronouns, but it was also reassuring.
