I do not know for sure.  It is likely goes back to their upbringing.
Regardless if parents were against or for specific things or beliefs, the parents do have a strong influence on their children.

Be a good example of good behavior.  Always be kinder than needed.  Be tender to others.  You are as beautiful as the thoughts you think and the words that you speak.   Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding.  Knowledge and action shown without love is not impressive.  If you look for the good in people you will find it. Healthy relationships are so important to good living.  Serve others.

Good living, joy, unity, love, and happiness can come from following these practices: Never let selfishness or conceit motivate you.  Regard others as more important than yourself.  Do not limit attention to only your interests, but include the interests of others

It is not usually about how fast you transition, it is about how well you transition.

OP...people don't like change or something that is different. Don't worry about it. That is how some people are. Stay connected with positive people, not the downers.

Good luck!

Different yes, but in conflict with their indoctrination. Most people go through their lives never questioning their beliefs. They never have to if they stay in the small circle of like people. On some level they experience cognitive dissonance and blame the trigger and not the root. The thing is, chances are no one will change their minds. They have to come by that themselves.

Happy Wednesday all.  For many, I think religious beliefs play into intolerance/non-acceptance towards people that don't fit into their belief system or what they've been "taught" to believe.

Just let the haters hate.

Some people hate simply because they don't understand. And because they don't understand, they're afraid. That fear breeds hatred.

If we let the haters hate, then nothing will ever change. You can sometimes conquer hatred through education. Through allowing people to learn that the thing they hate isn't actually the thing they hate. And they might actually sympathise if they could understand.

There will always be those people who don't want to understand. And for them... yes, you're not going to achieve anything but heartache and frustration. But I believe most people aren't like that. And what we're going through is something so far out of most people's sphere of experience that you can't expect them to "get it" straight away.

The acceptance we have in the world today has been brought about by brave souls who weren't content to let the haters hate. :)

I'd say it's people using religion for their own benefit, whether that's power, money, or diverting attention from themselves.

Unfortunately, fear keeps us returning for more in the media, so people that broadcast it most get the biggest platform too.

They're not the majority, but sometimes we have to crawl out of a bubble to see that.
