Joining The Military Post Trans-Ban?

(1/3) > >>

RobinM.R.:
Now that Trump's trans ban has ended I've been thinking about eventually joining as a trans woman.  I'm going a month and a half on HRT so far and I'm pushing myself. Cuz for one I GOT to get rid of my beer gut. (When I do, I'm working on my butt ). But, I also want to build up strength and keep some of as my transition continues. I dont want to get muscular, but toned. Right now I'm doing 3x10 crunches, then a minute plank. I've actually graduated to press release push ups which is the new standard in the Army.

Also I have a BA in Sociology (in my dead name, if that matters), so I'm going in as an officer. Will I have to change my name on my degree? I haven't officially changed my named yet but thats down the road.

Thanks for taking the time to listen.

Robin

ROTC ?

Or maybe a direct commission as many medical professionals are commissioned this way.

I was thinking about going into OCS (Officer Candidate School). Its actually something I've been thinking about for some time now. I'd also like to serve as trans.

I’d think it’s a very unstable career for the next 10-20 years. What happens 4 years from now?

If you leave in 4 or 8 years will it have been a good choice?

The last time the US had a massive reduction in the size of the military was just after WW II. Shortly there after another war broke out in Korea. Many influential people have said, "If you desire peace, prepare for war." Military expenditures are a major drain on the US economy, but without it, the US would be vulnerable to attack.

Many military men and women serve only a few years in active duty and for any number of reasons they leave and pursue a civilian life.  Some will then join a reserve component and continue their service that way. A retirement as a reservist can be very rewarding in terms of benefits and retirement pay, not to mention the respect from many people.
