First sports bra
« on: March 30, 2021, 04:00:39 am »
Hi, I'm having trouble pick out sports bras. I'm still growing but I'd say I'm at least an A cup. But I weigh 250 and I have a big frame. What size do you think I should get?

Hello Robin,

My best experience is going to get bra's fitting at either at Macy's lingerie Department or Lane Bryan store which supports plus size women. Both are transgender friendly. Their sale clerk really helpful getting you correct bra's size.

Best of luck

What is your chest size? With your weight as it is now, you could be anywhere from 38 to 48. Just let your size determine the bra size. A 38 would be an XL in many brands of bras, but check the makers recommendation.

Also, the just try it on method works well.

You have to try on bras to see if they work out well for you.

I do not own a sports bra, but many seem to be labeled with sizes like s, m, l, xl, etc.

I would suggest that if you do not know what size to get, go get fitted.  If that is not practical for you, order the largest two sizes available for the style you want, and remember that a women’s L would generally be smaller than a man’s L, for example. Then work your way down.  I saw some Bali bras recently that were sized that way, as compared to a 34 C or a 36 B, for example.  Obviously your chest size directly impacts your bra size.

Good luck!

Chrissy

Yes, try them on.  I collect different styles that show up in the Victoria's Secret clearance section.  With rewards cash, discounts and such I just bought three bras for $16.

Victoria's Secret has a Wardrobe Center, where a customer can try on ALL their bra sizes and styles and figure out what fits them!  But, they only carry smaller band sizes.

Sports bras don't have cups, so cup sizes are meaningless.  Sizes typically start at extra small and go up through extra large sizes.

I would say go to sports store or order on-line, with your size now at 250# you will need an xxl or xxxl size.  You will have to try them on to know what will fit best for you. Probably ordering on-line would work best you can return those that don't fit.
