Is “retail therapy” (shopping, especially with a female friend) helpful for you?
Shopping for clothes & accessories is fun!

COVID-19 has dampened this, I know.  Online shopping is okay but not as enjoyable as being out and about, going to shops.

The bad thing is that there are more things you can buy than you should!

Maid Marion:
I find it to be cheap and effective.  My wife used to see a therapist so I know what it would cost to see a professional.

Unless one gets carried away with "retail therapy"  ... it is indeed
much less expensive than seeing a therapist, BUT let's don't throw out
the baby with the bath water, professional therapists are essential for
assisting and dealing with many problems and issues, especially if
"Retail Therapy" is not working.

Dear Chrissy:
My most enjoyable and productive "retail therapy" times are when I shop
with my gal-friends and especially my tooth-fairy sweetie.

For the MTF that is early in their journey, it is very helpful to have supportive
cis-females along with us... they know the "ropes" regarding women's
clothing choices, sizing, and color and outfit combinations....

... and it is a fun event, shopping  (and having coffee and lunch)  together,
HUGS,
Danielle

I think that an excellent therapist can help many work through their issues and concerns and provide a pathway to greater understandings and hope for a brighter future.
