35 years of sobriety
« on: May 04, 2021, 01:02:33 pm »
Today is my anniversary, I took my last drink in 1986. For anyone struggling with addiction, stick with it. The goal is having your life back, and you have to keep your eyes on the prize.

@Devlyn:
Dear Devlyn:
Your report is wonderful news and so encouraging for all of us to read.  Your testimony is a good message to those members that are still struggling with additions that they can succeed in being free from that kind of bondage.
Thank you for sharing and posting.

CONGRATULATIONS
to you for 35 years of successfully beating your addition to alcohol.

HUGS and continued best wishes,
Danielle

I lost two brothers to addiction and I have a sister who's an alcoholic, so 35 years is a stunning achievement to me. Thanks for sharing, to show others that it can be done.

Be a good example of good behavior.  Always be kinder than needed.  Be tender to others.  You are as beautiful as the thoughts you think and the words that you speak.   Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding.  Knowledge and action shown without love is not impressive.  If you look for the good in people you will find it. Healthy relationships are so important to good living.  Serve others.

Good living, joy, unity, love, and happiness can come from following these practices: Never let selfishness or conceit motivate you.  Regard others as more important than yourself.  Do not limit attention to only your interests, but include the interests of others

It is not usually about how fast you transition, it is about how well you transition.
