HRT effects are reversing. Any advice?
« on: June 05, 2021, 03:31:35 pm »
I have been on HRT for like 2.5 months. I had some breast growth and nipple sensitivity during this period. But from a few days ago the sensitivity stopped and today it completely disappeared. My areola also reduced in size and I can't feel the buds under my nipples anymore. Can anyone please give any insights on this? This is getting depressing.

Hi, talk to your doctor and get labs done. You may have a high T level or not enough E.

Because your body got used with higher Estrogen level. Until you're regulate Testosterone and Estradiol level to cis-female level to get more breasts growth, and take me six years to achieve that

At 2.5 months, your endocrine system is still wondering what in the h*ll just hit it, and adjusting to try to keep up.

This is a good time to be keeping a daily log of what you feel physically so you have something to bring to your next doctor's appt.

Have you called your doc?

Exactly what are you taking for HRT ? Is your HRT prescribed by a doctor or are you taking non prescription herbals?

Even if you are taking prescription strength Estradiol prescribed by a doctor, with only 2.5 months, this is definitely not enough time to see any real changes.

I concur with @Rakel that 2 1/2 months is not much time.  Give it more time.   :)

Chrissy
Be a good example of good behavior.  Always be kinder than needed.  Be tender to others.  You are as beautiful as the thoughts you think and the words that you speak.   Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding.  Knowledge and action shown without love is not impressive.  If you look for the good in people you will find it. Healthy relationships are so important to good living.  Serve others.

Good living, joy, unity, love, and happiness can come from following these practices: Never let selfishness or conceit motivate you.  Regard others as more important than yourself.  Do not limit attention to only your interests, but include the interests of others

It is not usually about how fast you transition, it is about how well you transition.

I understand your frustration but you cant hurry hormones.  As we would love for the changes to take place rapidly thats just not how it works.  As stated labs will give your Dr (I hope you are doing this with professional guidance ) a reference point to work from.
I myself have only been on HRT 3 months and just had my first labs drawn Friday.  My Dr plans to adjust my meds based on the results.
I wish you all the beat !

My endo prescribed me Progynova (oral) and cyproterone(oral) everyday. He asked me to visit in 6 months for the next hormone checkup.

Sara,

You are taking the proper medications that are allowed in Europe.

The generic name for Progynova is Estradiol. This is your main feminizing hormone. This can be taken oral, but many of us prefer injection, patches or sublingual which avoids the first pass through the liver and gives you a much higher blood level.

Cyproterone is not allowed in the US. In the US, other testosterone blockers are used. Testosterone blockers are commonly used to speed up the visible signs of transition, but many of us find that after being on Estradiol for a while, our bodies own production of Testosterone is much lower and the Testosterone blockers no longer needed.

Many of us need to be on hormone therapy for at least a year before we begin to see changes in our bodies. This is common in older transitioners, such as myself. Some of the younger transitioners see results in just a few months, but they looked very androgynous at the start of their transition and needed very little to look feminine.
