Our place in the Church….even if they don’t like it
« on: September 22, 2021, 03:59:15 pm »
I have struggled with the Christian Religion and transitioning for decades. I found my answer in 1 Corinthians 12: 7-31.  The body of Christ (the Church) is comprised of parts that are not uniform or cookie cutter.  There are hands, feet, ears, eyes, fingers, toes, a face, a nose…..we all fufill different functions within the church.  We cannot all be hands and we cannot all be eyes….God values, created and requires diversity.  You, I and others like us have a place.  We are loved and we are a part of his plan.

Good luck with that! There are very many passages quoted by fundamentalists which are the polar opposite of that! I wouldn’t personally be relying on the bible for affirmation

I can pray and praise the Lord wherever I am. I don't have a need to go to any building at a certain time on a certain day just to do that, only to be judged by others for not being able to sing as pretty, or some other stupid reason. There will always be snakes in the congregation to be aware of, and we dare not say anything negative to or about them, for they are often the pillars of the community. Yet, they seek out anyone they feel is different in any way, and make them feel uncomfortable and unwanted. I should know.

Jesus does not expect you to attend churches where that is common. Pray wherever you want to. Praise him wherever you want to. Just because no other people hear it does not mean Jesus didn't hear it.
