Danielle,

Thanks for the positive comments. The test came back negative, so I am all set. My ride at 5:45 AM :icon_zombie: to the surgery center is booked. My neighbor will pick me up after the surgery and stay with me for the next 24 hours.

So come the weekend I will have my new breasts. When I was talking to my therapist yesterday. We discussed the surgery and what I was looking to achieve. When I told her that I wanted to have a C cup (currently an A cup). She smiled and said that is the perfect size. She then added that was her opinion as a lesbian.

More to come

Ellen

Well, the boob fairy made it visit yesterday. All went well, and my neighbor picked me up at 9:30 AM and took me home and baby sat me for the day. I had just a little pain in the afternoon which was taken care my taking Tylenol. The only problem I had was sleeping last night. I have to sleep on my back, which I never do. There were several times in the night when I started to turn over to side and the remember that I cannot so that. Also sleeping while my head and chest are raised is also something I had to get used to.

This morning I feel good and will relax and binge on Netflix programs. My neighbor will come by ever few hours to check on me and walk the dogs.

I, too, am not a back sleeper, so the first week was SO uncomfortable. At my one week follow-up, the surgeon said I could begin to sleep on my side, as long as I continued to wear the compression or sports bra.

And now I'm finally getting some quality sleep.

Best to you.

I had my first follow up appointment with my surgeon today. He said everything looks great. They are a little swollen which is expected. He was happy that I did not need any pain medication. The good news is that I can now take a shower and I can drive. :) The negative news is that I still have to sleep on my back :(. I have my next appointment this Friday.

I was also able to see my new breast for the first time. My first reaction was wow! They are full and round, not like before, where they had a very narrow base. Once the swelling goes down I going to be very happy with them.

Dear Ellen:
In our journeys there are very few things that give us more joy than finally
seeing (and feeling) our own body parts that we should have been born with!!!

I am so very happy for you.

I had my one week check up with my BA surgeon. He examined the the suture area and was very happy that the area is healing. As expected the the swelling has gone done to be a C cup which is what I was hoping to achieve. :)

After he checked how well I could move my arms above my head he gave me permission to wear tops that do not button down the front. Since I only had three tops that do button down the front that is a great relief. I was tired of wearing the same outfit. Plus I can now sleep on my side. I am so looking forward to a good nights sleep.

And, Danielle, you are so correct. When I see myself in the mirror after by GCS and BA I could not be happier with my body.

I just had my three months check up with Dr. Ali Qureshi. Both his surgery nurse and he examined me. They were very pleased on how the surgical scars had healed and that they are not visible unless you left the breast up a little. Which is the way it should be. Since I was concerned about the size of the implant before surgery, he also asked if I was happy with the resulting size. I gave him a very enthusiastic YES.

If you live anywhere in the OC, I highly recommend Dr. Qureshi for your BA.
