Has anybody had voice training with LaTrobe University
« on: April 22, 2022, 05:26:16 am »
I want to do MTF voice training in Melbourne. LaTrobe University is offering voice training for MTF and FTM.
Has anybody in Melbourne completed the MTF voice training course with LaTrobe University?
If so, could you give me your opinion of the training you received, please?
Hugs,
Bronlee.

I have heard good reports. I enquired, but they had a long waiting period, and offered training in blocks of  a few weeks on campus, and I couldn't fit it in with my work. I am on the Bellarine, so I really need something closer, but if they start to offer something different I am interested!

Hugs,

Allie

Hello Allie Jayne,
Thank you very much for your prompt reply. It looks as though I had better make a booking sooner rather than later.
I would like to meet with other like-minded people to practice our voices. Are there any other transtioners around Melbourne who would like to meet to practice our voices, even over the telephone?

Bronlee, I am in a group called Alphabet Soup which organises face to face Cafe events on the first Saturday each month so trans people can develop social skills and be in a public place with other trans people. On the other Saturdays, we host zoom meetings from 2 pm and you are most welcome to attend! I am the host for todays zoom! All you need do is look up Alphabet Soup Heidelberg on Face book and register your interest, or pm me here and I will arrange to get the zoom link to you. We don’t publish the zoom link publicly so we know who is coming and can maintain a safe space.

Hugs,

Allie

Hello Allie Jayne,
Thank you very much for your invitation. I will most certainly join in the Alphabet Soup meetings with great excitement and interest.
It is not 4:30 pm on Saturday afternoon.
I am super excited. I missed the 2 pm start for your hosting of Alphabet Soup. I have just returned home from shopping. While I was out I had eyelash extensions put in. I am so excited they have made a huge change to my face. Even the women doing the extensions told me my eyes look beautiful. She was correct!. They have really opened up my eyes. Did I mention I am super, super excited?
I will register with Alphabet Soup straight after I send this message.
Thanks again for the invitation.
Hugs,
Bronwen.

So good to meet you Bronwen, even if virtually! I'm glad you were able to get answers for your initial questions from one of our members, and hope you also both enjoyed the session and learned some things! I didn't really read your previous post about the eyelash extensions, or I would have asked you to show us the detail during our meeting. It is a fairly long process, but makes a dramatic difference, and something I would consider doing if I finally have some events to go to! I have a friend in NZ who has hers done regularly, and they always look amazing!

I look forward to getting to know you better!

Hugs,

Allie

Hello Allie Jayne,
Thank you very much for your very early message. Good heavens, I am not allowed to get out of bed so early, particularly on a cold morning, my cat Patches would complain and tell me to get back into bed and keep him warm.
Since our discussion on Prometrium I have found that Endometrim, also a pure progesterone, is on the PBS. It can be  taken rectally. According to some forums on the web many women have been told to take Endometrin rectally due to problems taking it vaginally.
I really enjoyed our chat last night and I am looking forward to having more. It will be wonderful to meet you, Monique and other people in a similar situation face to face. I am very excited with this new part of my life that is opening.
Now to eyelash extensions. Yes, they do look wonderful. For this first time I opted for the 'natural look'. Well, they are not quite natural but they do not look excessive. The woman who did them told me to go back in three weeks and she will extend them further. Hmm, I not sure about that because the length I have now is very close to the lens of my glasses.
Big hugs,
Bronwen.
For the tim,e being, I think I will stick with the 'natural look'.

Thank you Bronwen! I will explore the cost of Endometrim as even some PBS medicines can be expensive, and this one comes as 12 pills and 12 applicators, and still may be regarded as a 'private' prescription. I will also try lash extensions one day!

I look forward to seeing you again soon!

Hugs,

Allie
