Cyproterone: Foods to Avoid?
« on: June 05, 2022, 01:05:50 pm »
I haven't had any issues yet, but anyone else on Cyproterone and Estradiol (which I'm on), are there any foods that people have had issues with?

I know that with Spironalactone it is a potassium dieuretic, and from what I've seen people might have issues with high-potassium foods like bananas, but I couldn't find much about any foods that might cause issues with Cyproterone during transition.

Now then I've noticed it mentioned that Cyproterone depletes a person's B12 levels, so should I be taking a supplement or is there a food that's high in B12?

While some people experience some Vitamin B 12 deficiency, Cyproterone does not deplete the B-12  in your body.

Please note that Cyproterone is not available in the US because of other side effects, most notably, blood clots.

However to answer your question on sources of Vitamim B-12, you can eat meats and dairy or take a vitamin suppliment to provide all the B-12 you can possibly need.

I realize that Cyproterone is not available states side, but there are people on this board who are from other countries that do use Cyproterone Acetate for HRT (I think I've seen some from the UK and Australia) and I thought that they might have better knowledge.
