I finally got my UK passport and it has the correct name and gender and it feels so extremely good and affirming

Just wanted to share that, as I'm dual citizen, I really struggled because my birth country wouldn't let me change my details until I went to court and its a long process and haven't lived there for like 15 years (im only 31). so you can imagine the hurdle

anyway, I am so grateful to finally have documents that match me and can't stress enough the importance of having the right documents to avoid awkward moments etc.
I used to experience that and I got to the point that id avoid even going to buy alcohol (I still get ID) as conversations would be awkward from people who wouldn't believe it was me, and having odd reactions.

Dear RonnieKylie:
Thank you for sharing your terrific news regarding your passport.

Yes indeed, finally getting your important licenses and documents with correct name and gender
is not only very affirming but finally you won't have to deal with lengthy explanations will not
be needed when presenting yourself at the airport and other various functions.

I am so very happy for you... thanks again for sharing.
HUGS,
Danielle

Maid Marion:

Thanks Dani, exactly, I used to have a great deal of anxiety with the reactions. obviously airport staff tend to be very trained but even the over apology can be awkward as :)
