Salmon Fishing
Northern Star Girl:
Fishing!
Hello to my readers and followers...
This last couple months I have been doing a lot of fishing...
...steam and river fishing for Salmon.
This is the time of year that the Salmon varieties of Pink,
Sockeye and Silver/Coho are doing their "spawning runs upstream"
Almost always the fishing is very good here... I have already been out
in the last month and caught and grilled many Pink Salmon..
There is nothing better than fresh caught Salmon...
... swimming in the water in the morning and on the grill or in the
frying pan for dinner that same day !
Question: Do any of you do any regular fishing... details??? pictures? ???
HUGS,
Danielle

That sounds like a lot of fun. Salmon is a HUGE staple in our house. It also seems to be one of the only things you can expect to find at a restaurant that is actually healthy LOL.
It would be great to be able to enjoy my time outdoors while also saving myself $20/lb!

@TXSara
Dear Sara:
Well... the waders, the poll, reel and line, and the bait are not free, along with the gas money to get to where I am going and back....
..... but it is more than worth the efforts and costs.
Fresh caught, immediately pan fried the same day.... never frozen ..... nothing better!!!!

If I can find the time to go to the Pacific Northwest, I will try crabbing next time, if possible. Probably just off a pier at first. There are lots of crabbing places and restaurants along the coast. Some restaurants will cook what you catch I hear.

Dear Chrissy:
Dungeness Crab is the best !!!! ...
....IMHO, much better than the more common King Crab
