If you think a little cold air and snow might bolster your holiday spirits, NASA says it knows the perfect destination for frigid Christmas and New Year’s celebrations.

“Looking for the coldest place to spend the holiday season?” the space agency asked in a Facebook post.

“You won’t find anyone else there, but the coldest place we’ve found on Earth (with the help of NASA Earth satellites) is a high ridge on the East Antarctic Plateau.”

Just be sure to bundle up. Temperatures on the ridge “can drop to 135 degrees (Fahrenheit) below zero” on winter nights, NASA says.

Wow.... minus -135 degrees (f)   ... that makes the temperatures here where I live seem quite temperate.
Right now here where I live in Alaska it is minus -47 degrees (f)

Makes me feel bad for bundling up here in Florida this morning at 30 above. Not really, it's mornings like this that make me want to move to the Keys! Nothing like seeing all the Christmas Palms lit up.

This is nothing new. I live in Miami and our local newspaper is just having a joke on their readers. We are expecting a cold front this Saturday before Christmas this year. The Miami Hearld is just rubbing it in, saying that it is not going to be that cold.
