Long past an orchi
(1/1)
LauraPortiaFan:
I had an orchi back in 2010. I don't regret it to this day.
Now, the scrotal skin has shrunk like a frightened turtle. It can get more than a bit uncomfortable at times. So, next time I see one of my docs, I am going to ask about a referral for someone who could get rid of it.
GRS wasn't on my radar due to limited finances. That was my reason for having the orchi done in the first place. I do remember the surgeon asking me if I wanted to retain the scrotal and penile tissue. I shrugged and said "I guess" since I thought that my insurance wouldn't cover that and I didn't want a massive bill to have to pay back.
But now, this is really annoying and I really want this extra skin gone.
Rakel:
There are two ways of removing unwanted extra skin. You can just have a surgeon cut it off totally or you can reshape that extra skin into something that is more aligned with your personal self image.
The choice is yours. Smooth perineum or minimal depth vaginalplasty or even full depth vaginalplasty.
If the limiting factor is financial, then there are some health insurance policies that will cover this.

I just had my orchiectomy consult 2 weeks ago. I asked about the skin removal and she told me my insurance wouldn't cover that. I'm not sure about future surgeries, so I'll leave it for now.

Well, in my case, this is causing actual physical pain.
It doesn't matter if I am sitting, walking, or, attempting to sleep since I sleep on my side.
