tanning

I am thinking about going to a tanning salon place. I like having a tan but i dont think i will have time to be outside much to try get one. So my question is if anyone else does this may i ask how much cost, lotion, and i have my nipples and navel pierced will that be a problem? I pass a salon and thinking about them but a concern is if go after work i most likely have sweated and smell from where i work at will this be a problem? thanks

Whatever issues you confront initially, are going to be minuscule compared to the skin issues you will have later in life.

I am 73 years old and I have spent much of my younger life outdoors in the hot sun. Today I am seeing a Dermatologist for sun damaged skin problems. I am currently having pre-cancerous spots removed. I don't wish this on anyone.

Take care of your skin with sun blockers as well as proper cleansing and hydration. Celebrate healthy skin, no matter what color your skin happens to be.  ;)

Pay attention to what Rakel stated in her reply comment....

Here are 3 options for having a tanned appearance....
             * Natural suntan out in the sun
             * Tanning bed at a spa
               Both of the above involve exposing your delicate skin to Ultraviolate Rays
                    and if used often and overused can cause skin damage and possible
                    skin cancer later in life.

             * Sunless Tanners   spray or cream   
                    This would be the safest for your skin health.

If you don't mind, may I ask why? Coming from a very pasty corner of Britain... and being largely at odds with the idea of direct sunlight, I've never really understood the appeal. What is it that you like about it?

I have always liked being tanned. When a kid was outside playing and my Mother always had or tried to have a tan when she was healthy. I just think looks better
