Transgender Umbrella and the Therapies & Treatments Involved

Yesterday, I saw a social media post about a webinar being offered by Dr. Gwen Herzig. I met her a few weeks ago, and she is awesome! Tickets are available through 'Eventbrite'. Although you have to register, the tickets are free (I registered for the event and can verify there is no fee). Here is the synopsis:

I am excited to announce a 2 hour nationwide webinar which will comprehensively cover major aspects of quality transgender care. Whether you are a professional, pre-professional, organization, ally, a closeted individual, or someone in the community who wants to know more about transgender care, this is for you! We will be covering the basics of affirming care, coping while closeted, transgender youth, hormone replacement therapy, and surgical approaches.

Individual sign up is completely free! Our 501C3 non-profit, The Prism Foundation, gladly accepts and appreciates donations to help us continue our commitment to providing education, outreach, and resources for our community. Located in Little Rock, Arkansas, The Prism Foundation works in conjunction with Park West Pharmacy to readily make sure hormone replacement therapy is available to the community, as well as facilitating name and gender changes with legal organizations, providing free injection supplies, and injection administration at no cost to the patient.

My community is important to me; I transitioned on April 1st of 2020. I have been working with the LGBTQ+ community with an emphasis in transgender care ever since the start of my journey. I am intimately familiar with therapies involved, mental health needs, and have lived to personally experience and know the trials and tribulations that the transgender community goes through. My community pharmacy is now a hub of outreach and support, and I am also a clinical pharmacist for Healthy Connections Inc. with my role specifically focusing on LGBTQ+ care. I am dedicated to continuing efforts for the LGBTQ+ community.
