shaving test
learning_1:
Just wondering if anyone ever did a test to see whats better for you shaving getting rid of body hair? Today i did a test with razor blades (thats what i use). On right leg a 3 blade razor on left leg a 5 blade. Both new and used baby oil to shave and lotion afterwards. Both legs feels same at this time. I have wax strips but not used them yet

In my opinion and personal experience, more important than how many blades
there are of the razor is if they are sharp.
Brand new, never previously used disposable razors do a good job no matter
how many blades that they have.
Multiple blade razors seem to be less apt to nick your skin.

I used a legs eplilator during years about 4 times a year. Later on twice a home laser on my lower legs. On my hands and underarms and legs nowadays twice a year the epliator to avoid mostly fluffy hair growing to long. Must say beside that that I was lucky not to have to much hair on arms and legs. As with all hair it is a task to continue for longer time but happy I did as result seams to be lasting.
My love uses a sharp four blade system and cream with AloeVera during the shaving and a body lotion afterwards on her legs and once and a while a legs epilator in the winter because her skin reacts sometimes on the epilator with red spots.

How many blades is best?
I really do not know. When I first started shaving, one blade was all that was offered. Then came two blades and there was a significant improvement in the closeness of the shaved area. This was thought that the second blade cut the hair shaft after the first blade pulled the hair out a little. It seemed to be true, but nobody did an objective test of this claim.
Later on, we had three blades with additional claims that had little evidence supporting the claims. Today we have four or even five blades being marketed, again with claims and prices of superiority.
I see little improvement over two blades, and the costs seem to be increasing with additional blades. Today the generic blades from certain makers seem to be very good with only two or three blades and the prices are quite reasonable.

my response updated below:
I have found a lady's shaver works well for body hair as well as my beard. Women's shavers are designed to cut the long body hair as well as the short fine stubble. It is quick, painless, and easily done as often as needed.
As a long time, well controlled diabetic, I have the advantage of no or extremely little body hair. I always wondered why my leg hair was disappearing. My foot nurse explained that diabetics loose the hair on their extremities. This one of the factors when evaluating continuing diabetic foot care. I've also lost most of my other body hair as well.
