Catching Up
« on: April 22, 2006, 09:33:09 pm »
Hi All,
I've been around but haven't wrote for awhile so I though I would tell you how things are going.

I had a good morning with my wife we share some feeling and talked about our love for each other. She really still crazy for this crazy person you know as Jillieann. I just hope that soon she will accept me completely so that we can go out together as females and just enjoy each other for who we are.

Anyway I have enjoyed going back to the beauty salon and had another female haircut as a woman. You know how women just chat away at each other well that is what we did while I was getting it cut and it was wonderful.

Last time I was dressed as a woman and was at the mall I thought I was made. I went into a bathroom to check my wig and two young women were standing in front of the mirrors. I was brushing my wig when one young woman said,"Oh! That is good." My heart skipped a beat. Then I realized she was talking about my hair and I was faltered. Later on that day a young clerk said she would like to get her hair done like my hair. That just made my day.

I went to my second son’s house for Easter and enjoyed being with two of my grandchildren.
While I was there my very observance son and daughter in-law notice traces of clear nail polish, my female shaped eyebrows, altitude change and decided that something was a foot in my life. Yesterday I answered an email he had sent me ask what was wrong and I told him that I was transgender. He wrote back asking a lot of question but ended by saying that he loved me and won't continue to love me. I am really blessed by his response. Today I wrote my first born son and told him that I was transgender.
I’m waiting for his response now.

Best of luck, Jillieann.

It can be hard on children, particularly teens and older, to learn that Dad is becoming a woman.  If - hopefully not, but if - one of your children goes off the deep end and cuts you off, don't lose help.  Evually, many of them grow up and realize two things:  (1) it's not about them, and (2) it's better to have a weird parent than a dead parent.

I didn't see my 30 year old baby for 8 years.  We met for lunch at her mother's home in December.  My husband and I hope to see her tonight at a 100th birthday party for a friend.  Hopefully, she won't avoid us.

Again, best wishes.  And remember that they can find support at PFLAG.  Many chapters have a Transgender Coordinator (TCord).  **Check out the PFLAG TNET page at .

I meant ... don't lose hope.

Wish I could type.
When we walk to the edge of all the light we have and take the step into the darkness of the unknown, we must believe that one of two things will happen. There will be something solid for us to stand on or we will be taught to fly. — Patrick Overton
