Im having a hell of a time trying to figure out what to do with my hair. I wear a binder, I fill in my eyebrows daily, and I've even started sticking out my jaw to counteract the underbite which makes my face look rounder. The only problem is my hair, which I'm not willing to part with, even though everyone says I'd pass if I just cut it off.
I have wigs, but i'm not willing or able to put them on every day. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to make my hair look more masculine, aside from putting it in a manbun or cutting it?

Alot depends on how common it it for guys to have long hair where you live and if they do, how they wear it. I am in the southern US and a ton of good old boys have long hair. It's messy, dirty, cut with a pair of scissors over the toilet and 90% of the time in a ponytailer if it's longer than shoulder length. I wear a shoulder length grunge so I can get away wearing my hair down. I get mistaken for a girl alot more when I am up north. You just don't see that many guys with long hair.

Not sure if you are on T, but a little facial hair can help. It still isn't enough to keep people from thinking I am a girl if they only take a quick look when I am up north...

Im not on T yet, unfortunately. Do you think it'd help for me to cut my own hair? Not cut it short, but trim the ends so they look choppier?

I think so. Excepting the current trend of wearing the hair slicked back or having the sides cut as with a barber style "regular" mens haircut, mens long hair is generally about neglect. NO styling products, dry and unconditioned, split ends, carelessly cut once or twice a year for the sole purpose of making it shorter so it doesn't get caught in the fan blade when you're working on the car. Layers, even long ones, are a HUGE No-No. Anything you do that makes it look like you take of your hair (braids, fun colors) is going to give it a feminine edge.

If you like wearing it down I would really consider taking off about 4 inches so it isn't too far below your shoulders. Ponytails are worn low and tight. Some guys wear a series of elactic ponytailers spaced a couple inches apart down the length of the tail. That's kind of a cool look. My wife likes it when I flat iron my hair when I where a suit, but for everyday wear, I just bursh it 100 strokes in the morning and finger brush it the rest of the day. My hair isn't very oily so I have no problems going a week between washes (I like Wen). I let it air dry unless I have to go out in the cold.

Haha, well hey, looks like im already halfway there. I brush it well but I don't take good care of my hair, nor do I have layers. The extent of my hair care is that I bleach it, because I despise the off-blonde natural shade I have.
I've been thinking about doing nordic/viking braids that show off my natural hairline, what do you think about that?

Ha, Ha, I color my hair too, but it's to cover the gray!
Braid would be a *great* look for you (I'm thinking Legolas in the Lord of the Rings). It would be easy enough to try to see if it helps or hurts.

Is there a celebrity or singer  you can copy? My hair is sort of a cross between early 90's Curt Cobain and a 1969/70ish Neil Young. My female alter has no problems prettying it up into a lob :)

Pretty much just let it grow scruffy
Guys generally don't have nice long hair. It's just long

I think your hair is great the way it is, from what I can see. if you're able to get on t, it will help a lot.  my only suggestion would be to try combing it back rather than over to the side.

Not FTM here, so I haven't thought about this topic much, but it seems to me I see men with long pony tails often. Most commonly, i think it is slicked back, so that it lies very close to the head. As well, anything that can make the pony tail look a bit thin, instead of thick and healthy is probably good too. The hair line also looks pretty deep a la male pattern baldness. I would think anything you can do to pull the hair off the face so that people can see the distinctly male hair line would help too.

Ponytail close to the neck. I had that and passed with long hair.

You look good with your hair like that too. I like your hair! You look like a heavy metal musician! [emoji2] maybe change how you comb it, not to the side.

I have long hair as well, but being an African-American man with dreadlocks, I tend to wear it pulled back and down, right above my neck.

However, lately, I've been going for more of a Japanese-samurai style.  The first one is my favorite.

Let it be more messy? men's long styles are typically more messy looking than women's which are usually neater, or straightened or visibly styled, etc.

When mine was longer I let it do it's own thing, that seem to be the key to any longish men's style. Occasionally I'll clip it all off and start over again letting it grow out and do its own thing. Often looks best with a bit of light stubble or beard.

Yeah, I agree with the "messy hairstyle."  Mine isn't neat by any stretch of the imagination, but I try to have my 'locs lay properly on the top of my head, while my bun and the hair that I let hang down does its own thing, whatever that may be. ;D

I also am letting my facial hair do its own thing.  I'm grateful that my (scraggly) beard means I'm less likely to be misgendered, but its been itching lately, so I finally had to break down and buy my first beard kit this week!  \(^_^)/
