Title: Phallo Stage 1 Progression
Post by: Snowdoggy on April 08, 2010, 08:47:47 PM
Hello everydoodle,

I said I would keep some people on here informed.

I just wanted to pop on and let you know that I have now had my first stage of phalloplasty.

It all went by without complications mostly, my chest surgery didn't either, got a haematoma  :(

Because I had no fat on my stomach area I had the grafts taken from my buttcocks and I did get an infection in my left buttock. I (eventually) had a course of antibiotics and (hopefully) that is all sorted now.

Getting there slowly anyway. Back to work on Monday hopefully.

I am very happy with my results so far.

The next stage of my op should be at the the end of June.

Take care out there all of you and keep happy  ;)

John

Glad to hear you've survived stage 1.  How much time off of work did you need to take?

Also: did you get the info on paramedical tattooing that I posted to another one of your threads a while back?

Take care.

Great news...and you don't need both buttocks, anyway. (I keep remembering the old woman in Candide, though...)

Both buttocks are fine now. The wonder of antibiotics  :D

I didn't see your info on info on paramedical tattooing Ender. I am interested in that and am hoping to have that done at some time. Do you have any info on having this done in the UK? Can you give me a link to your post please?

I have been off work now for 5 weeks unfortunately but I think I could have gone back sooner other than the problem of my buttock infection. I work on a computer (print designer) and to be honest standing up hurt less than sitting down at that time. I am hoping to go back to work this Monday.

I presume you are talking about Voltaire Arch?  ;D

NB: I am very pleased with my forearm damage (or lack of it) after 5 weeks.

I think (at least in England) things are getting better in that respect.

That's great to hear John! What do they do in stage 1?

Hey John, glad to hear you're healing well and that stage 1 was relatively uneventful as far as complications. I'm hoping stage 2 goes as smoothly.

Thanks for updating us and sharing your experience with us. Not many of the guys here chose to go with a phallo, so it's really great that you're sharing this experience with us so we can see a personal POV on the procedure.

I was reading through the boards and have posted this message on an old post so I would like to post some of it here if that's ok? I have added a few bits here too

On the question of sensation:- The op I have had, from the forearm (and other guys I am in contact with before my op), they re-connect one of the (sorry about using these terms but we could beat about the bush forever otherwise) clitoris into the penis base and also some nerves are removed from the forearm so feeling in the phallus should be fairly good when I get sensation back.

I can even now "what-do-you-noodle" so that is good. I was worried about losing that beforehand  ;)

One of my main "wants" was to be able to stand to pee and that is primarily why I am having this procedure. I can't do that yet until the next op.

One thing I have never seen mentioned on any trans site is how (if it does) it may affect your movement and everyday life.

It does... your brain knows how much gap to leave when squeezing through a gap and I have found since the op it does not alllow for my winky. Not great when you can't feel it. Can do a lot of damage AND I am now finding that now and again I am "sitting on it" if you know what I mean.

A few things I would like to say re phallo...

1)  I have only been through the first stage so far and one thing that I would like to tell you is that it is incredible how good it feels to look in the mirror down there if you get my gist. I didn't think after losing my forearm skin with the first op and before the second stage when you can STP I would feel like I had gained anything much but it is a great feeling to not have to worry about the lack of bulge anymore.

2)  You need support through the many operational stages. It's not like chest surgery but you will be more mobile than you think afterwards.

3) "It" sticks to the top of your leg a lot when it gets hot and sweaty down there  :o

Other than that I will have to keep you informed.

Thanks for all your responses. They are much appreciated :-)

Nero. At the moment not much after stage 1. I still have both sets of genitals. I have a nice sized and shaped penis but only get the glans sculpting with my 3rd op. Next op is the urethral hook up. Quite a serious op but looking forward to being able to STP.

I could do with some advice. I've been asked to decide whether I want a vaginectomy, which needs to be performed with the next op and what I want doing with my cl*t. Burying or leaving open. Not sure what to do with either of them and not sure where to go to ask for advice. I know all the pros and cons but...

Long hard road but hopefully it should be worth it in the end.

John

I found a place in the UK that will do paramedical tattooing (including phallos); check above link for details.

Thanks Ender.

Will look into it. It will be a while befoe I can get it done anyway. From what I can work out it is quite expensive but I have seen the results and they do make a major difference in my opinion.

PP: I am enjoying it thanks. It's just a bit strange at the moment. Have to consider how I sit down more carefully  ;)

Cheers all
John

Sorry guys, I got a lot of replies in quick succession there and I seem to have ignored some of your responses:-

Ender: I have been off work for 5 weeks now and was hoping to go back next week BUT I have been told by my doctor that I should have at least another 2 weeks off work BUT he has said that this is because of my hysto rather than my phallo. I did tell him that I had a phallo at the same time but I am not sure he was listening as when I showed him my forearm later he said, "what's going on there then?". Personally I think I can go back to work now EVEN after having the infection but "sick pay" sucks in the UK even though people in other countries think that the welfare state is cool it isn't. £80 per week when I have been contributing to the state system for 21 years on the wage I was on is c**p and if we had a mortgage (we have 2 kids) covers nothing. Thank you for your advice  ;D

NERO: stage one is basically only the building of the phallus. I get the urethral hook up at the end of June, then the sculpting done, then the erectile device fitted after that. It is a long series of operations. Believe it or not I will (probably) not be finished until January next year :-0 There are quicker ways of doing this but the ins and outs can take longer than this and I am not getting any younger. Hope you are looking after yourself. Say hello to me sometime when you are not busy ;)

OSIRIS: Thank you for your support, it is much appreciated  :)

PURPLE PIMP: "Ahh, the joys of manhood! Tell me about it." and many more other things that are a pain in the bum too at the moment, all good stuff. Thank you too chuck  ;)

Thanks for all of the info--you're right, nobody seems to talk much about all of those pesky little details. Probably part of the problem is that not many guys have phallo in the first place. But I know a guy who had it, and he has not mentioned most of what you talked about. If any...

Hi Snowdoggy,

I was hoping to find somebody on here that is in the process of lower surgery.........I have had a hysterectomy and chest surgery and been on testosterone for 15 years.
I use a STP to pass in bathrooms or outside.
I am in the process of setting up having lower surgery, shouldn't be long now.............got any advice or info to offer, I really don't know what to chose, there seems to be a lot of options for lower surgery.

Take care

A lot of it will boil down to what your personal needs are.  For some it's size, for others it's function.

I chose a meta with hookup and implants, so I'll be a guy with a micropenis.  I need something done in one stage (personal reasons).

There are yahoo groups and live journal groups out there that discuss different surgeries, surgeons, costs, risks, etc.  But ultimately whether you go for a phallo or meta will depend on you.

Hi

I just wanted to say hello to everyone and let you know I am still out here  ;D

I haven't been on for a while as a lot of the time I spent on here was from work  ::)

My boss put certain words on a block on the router. One of which was the word "sex". I could still connect to another transgendered site I use but when I tried Susans at work it said I had to contact the "administrator". He does know I am trans and said this is possibly the case but he doesn't want to "unblock" that word. On Googling it seems Susans is the only one that has the word tran"sex"ual in its link It seems.

If any mods read this it may be an idea to look into it as many people do use these sites during their lunch breaks from work so it may be worth getting rid of any words that people (or companies) block on their routers.

Anyway, the reason I am on here now is that both me and my partner have both lost our jobs recently BUT I am also due for my stage 2 op this Saturday. This being the urethral hook up.

What Jay has said is bang on. What one guy wants differs to the next. I have spent a lot of time talking with guys prior to many different types of lower surgery, as to what is what and what I require and to some degree, you can have it all with a decent phallo. Other than reflex action erections and ejaculation, I will get the majority of what I require.

I will try and keep you all updated on what is what at least with my phallo.

On top of this I would like to say "thank you" to all you guys and gals who have supported me on this forum through the years and I hope I will be able to give some help back to others in the future.

Take care all of you
John

Title: Phallo Stage 2 Progression
Post by: Snowdoggy on July 13, 2010, 09:36:49 AM
Hey peeps,

Just another update. I had my (stage 2) urethral hook up and clitoral embedding done just over 3 weeks ago and had the suprapubic catheter removed last week and so far so good  :)

I was warned that it is common to have at least a small amount of leakage underneath and not to worry as small fistulas can heal themselves. They clip the catheter and send you away to go and have a few pints or coffees and tell you to come back after you have had a wee and the nurse said she would be surprised if I didn't have any leakage. They then remove the catheter if all is working ok. I was REALLY scared to be honest as I am in contact with a few guys who have already had their surgery and one guy has had ongoing problems with fistulas for nearly three years.

Anyway, it all went smoothly and I have had 0% leakage so far but have been warned that I may develop one within the next month but after that I should be home and dry... literally.

The next stage is the glans sculpting and that should be in about three months time, they also put the reservoir for the erectile device in at that point and one testicle. They then switch that testicle to the other side at the final stage and the pump then goes in the sack/space that has been formed from the initial implant and they also pop the cylinders in, either 1 or 2 depending on space and/or size of the phallus.

So I'm getting there slowly  8)

Take care all
John

Congrats!  Enjoy your new equipment!  How long is the overall process from start to finish?

Jay

They advise to leave at least 3 months between each operation and there are 4 in total when having the surgery done in the UK. So it comes to about a year in total but you are free to leave it longer between ops if you want which is handy when you are working, which I was when I started but I (and my GF) have both been made redundant since.

It has spoilt the whole experience somewhat to be honest and I had been looking forward to this point in the stages for so long  :(

Still, being able to pee standing is very liberating and worth the pain and discomfort involved along the way
