Hello. I've just begun hormone-replacement therapy to transition from female to male. I got my first injection of testosterone five days ago and was wondering when my period is supposed to stop because I got it this morning by surprise. Have any other trans men experienced this after starting testosterone? Thanks!
*No Dosages Please*
It usually takes upwards of 6 months to go and will become lighter and last less time month by month.

It can stop anytime in the first 1-6 months on T. It really depends on your individual body chemistry and how it reacts to and processes the T. For me, I started on gel and it took 3 months to finally go away. Each one leading up to the final one was lighter and shorter, but didn't go away completely until just after the start of my 3rd month on.
I finished shark week the same day as my first injection, which was a smaller dose than what I'm on now. I expected it to take anywhere from 3-6 months from the information I had read throughout this forum and other resources. In my instance I was relatively lucky to not see a single one past my first injection. I'm glad it's gone, having a tingly sensation for days and the odd cramping session wasn't pleasant!
All the best for you! If it continues past the expected time frame, there are options such as a depo provera shot. Those might not work either depending on your body.
Some guys have spotting or bleeding up to several months after starting. I personally never bled after my first shot, but I had crazy painful cramps for a month or two.

Oh yeah; forgot to mention the cramps. I still get random twinges now and again; as well as time of the month symptoms like a craving for junk food.
I had one when I was about 1 month on T, another at around 4-5 months on T and then no more since
I started T (a compounded cream) a few days after my period. I wasn't expecting them to stop immediately (but wishful thinking). My next one showed up about 4-5 days ago at my 3 week mark on T. It's definitely lighter and my cramps aren't as severe (I used to get cramps so bad I couldn't get out of bed).
I'm hoping it'll be 100% in the next few months, if I'm lucky.
