Ok, I'm floored. American Politics = Evil or Evil
I voted for Trump primarily for several basic reasons:
*Hillary is a sickly, vicious, felon.
*Bernie is the Pied Piper of Morons and just a Socialist Nothing....a puff of stale air.
*I value our Constitution, our military and our American freedoms.
*I hate the derision Obama brought down on our nation.

I'm a transgender woman who served six years of active duty in our armed forces. Almost all of it was hazardous duty and overseas. I have an honorable discharge and more than a few commendations and awards. When I served, I had not yet transitioned yet, at least not visibly.

I'm not a disenfranchised millennial anarchist who lives in moms basement and froths at the mouth over self entitlement. I'm a professional with a Masters Degree and a career and I'm more than worldly enough to speak on this.

President Trump stated that transgender people will be banned from the military. I'm incensed, hurt, disgusted and as a veteran...I'm offended.

Wake up if you are LGBTQ, if somebody in your family is or if you are just an adult with cognitive abilities. We took a MAJOR HIT with this decision! We meaning our country.

The latest analysis, published last year by UCLA researchers, estimated that nearly 150,000 transgender people have served in the military, or about 21% of all transgender adults in the U.S. By comparison, 10% of the general population has served.
Some trans people had deliberately chosen the military's most dangerous jobs.

Hi Toni and welcome to the forum. My politics differ from yours somewhat as I tend to lean towards frothing anarchist these days but from one vet to another, thank you for serving. I did 20 years in the Army and retired a while back.

I retired from the military over a decade ago following a twenty years career on the Navy and Marine Corps Team. You and I share many of the same feelings regarding the 2016 POTUS election and the choice of candidates that the two major political oligarchies nominated to run for the Oval Office. I'm furious that the POTUS recanted on his promise to support the LGBT community but I'm not surprised.
As libertarian I still believe that the answer to unifying our nation is electing men and women that respect and honor all of it's citizens, our right to diversity and remains out of our personal lives. It's been a long time since either the democrat or republican parties have reflected those principles.
