Two years ago today..
I hope all is well... Those of you who have seen my posts in the past may have seen me offering the concept to transitioners and all those that struggle with lifes challenges that "amazing, wonderful and unexpected discoveries await...
i hold this day up as example of this... Today is my second wedding anniversary... My husband and i are celebrating two blessed years and are giddy with excitement over our upcoming status as granparents!
if anyone had told me six years ago, that I would be married to a man, after a half century of relationships with women... much less a grandmother?... i would have laughed... Our lives can take some beautiful and unexpected turns so please... Leave yourself open to all the places that your lives can take you... Live Life, Love Life...
Now, I am off to enjoy the day... We are going to have a nice celebration out tonight... I am going to wear my new Betsey Johnson floral dress!

You are a beautiful lady. I'm so happy to see others getting a full slice of happiness from life after transition. Mine has just begun in my early 50s but ladies like you give me inspiration. That is such a cute dress. I would love to be able to pull something like that off. My new devotion to diet and exercise is going to get me there someday. Have a wonderful time. Love and faith.

We never truly know what lies behind the doors of possibility in life, until we walk through them...
GABRIELLE66!... I started HRT at age 52... The half century mark is a wonderful time for new directions... We have often spent a lifetime proving to ourself that other avenues don't truly work for us and do not truly address the truth of who we are... The truth we have always felt we needed to hide...
Some would call this time in life a "midlife crisis" but, that is not accurate... It is not a crisis... It is an opportunity!!!... It is a time to take stock of where we are in life... Are we happy?.., if not... What corrections need to be made...
I subscribe still to my idea that, at its core... Transition is a spiritual quest... If we have hidden who we are for a lifetime... How can we feel we have truly been loved?... Transition is an attempt to finally, place ourself at a point in our life where we can truly give and receive love... A spiritual quest indeed...

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I look at myself in the mirror right now and say who am I kidding? It's like putting lipstick on a mule but I persist. I doubt that I have the genetics to look anything like you do but I will say that my Mom was a beautiful lady when she was younger and if I could reflect even an inkling of that aura then it's worth the effort. I'm not all about how I look and never really will be but it's always nice to think that you might be pretty at the very least. Have a wonderful day and thank you again for your encouragement. A few thoughts for those who have found themselves here and are starting to realize that their life, will not truly be THEIR life... until a few changes are made...
Let go of the things that no longer serve you... Let go of the pretense... Let go of the armored shell you have worn for a lifetime to serve the expectations of others and to protect the woman inside... She needs protection no longer.... She is tired of hiding and more courageous than you know... Let her prove that to you....Let her step out of the dark and feel the light upon her face....
Embrace the things that express your inner truth... Show the world and those you Love ...Finally... Who you truly are... Embrace the liberation found in jumping off a cliff in your life even though you don't completely know what lies below... There is a quote I like by Martin Luther King...
"Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase."
It is never too late.... CHOOSE to see how you will make it so... not the reasons you cannot... A journey of a thousand steps is taken one at a time...Don't get lost in the details... Keep moving forward!!!... In the end, your life will be what you make it... So,... Make it glorious!... make it what you want... make it what you need.... Make it a life well lived... Leave regrets behind you where they belong... All shall be well...

Congrats on your 2nd anniversary. The story of Ashley is worth worldwide news, inspiring not just transgender people, but all of SOs, too. Defying gender and age is not easy at all. As a non-transitioner, I also have been trying to overcome both gender and age.

Moving towards truth in one's life is the correct direction of travel... living a lie can be maintained but, at what price?... In the end, it serves no one... not ourselves or, those we Love... On an interesting side note, I will be doing a speaking engagement in the week ahead in the very historic local meeting hall that my husband and I were married in... I will be addressing employees from the Sheriff's Office and Police Deparments from all over the county as part of their LGBT training... I'm really looking forward to it!!!

This is truly an amazing time in history to be alive... I am 57 and my Grandmother was born in the 1890s...as a child in Iowa, she rode all day on a horse pulled wagon to go see what an electric lightbulb looked like... We live in a constantly changing and amazing world little sister... We have lots of lightbulbs now!!! 😀 We also have a world where we can live as we choose... it is just up to us to move forward with courage, hope and faith...

Yeah, we'll see. Both extremely nervous and extremely excited. Tomorrow going to fertility clinic to deposit some swimmers and if I don't need to make a subsequent deposit, it's off to the races for me. Interesting times for sure.

I'm late arriving Ashley, congratulations on your 2nd wedding anniversary, hard to believe it's 2 years, where does time go, and your so right, we just don't know how life turns out, and granparents that is so wonderful.
Myself and hubby celebrated out 8th wedding anniversary 1 month ago, but sadly we'll never be granparents, like you, if somebody told me 12 years ago that I would eventually married a man I'd have said they were crazy, but that's the way life turned out, wishing you all the happiness.

I thought the events of last night would fit well into this thread from last September as further support of my contention, that we never truly know what lies on the other side of the door of possibilities...until we walk through it.
Last night, I became a grandmother... That is not a title in life I ever saw being applied to me but, I welcome everything about it... I will strive always to live up to examples set by my own grandmothers... They were very important people in my life and I have some big shoes to fill...
My granddaughter will know well, a lifetime of her own amazing discoveries... She will know the power of Love, Hope and Possibilities... Look Out World!!! 🌺💕
