Title: Body fat issues, Body fat distribution
Post by: IBasicallyLiveOnTheWeb on March 28, 2018, 06:50:48 AM
Hey, guys. So I feel a bit uneasy at the moment, I've been feeling really dissappointed in my lack of the male figure, lately (FTM). Like, I want to have more of an upper body and muscles, instead of having huge, curvy hips. I personally have a good amount of body fat, a ton centered around my core and thighs - this should already make it hard enough to show any muscle or upper body definition. I'm also not sure about how puberty would work against me on this one (I'm also pre-t and personally don't plan on ever going on it). I just want to have smaller hips, thighs, etc. - and have the body shape of a guy. I have no idea how to go about this and I feel like I'm too fat to even make a difference with exercise, tbh. Help is very appreciated, thank you guys! I hope to get some useful responses! :3

Lose weight and taking t might help. I've lost 114lbs since June and I'm starting to see definition in some places.  The thing is, guys, younger ones, tend to leaner than women and hormones will dictate where body fat gets Distributed. I used Ketogenic diet and it works for me. Deborah turned me on to it, so I owe her a debt of gratitude. Thank you Deborah. Maybe she'll chime in.

Exercise is never a waste of time.  It will benefit you in many ways whether you are overweight or skinny.  You are correct though that you'll need to reduce your bodyfat for the benefits of exercise to physically show.  For that it's all about diet.  You need to eat healthily and not too much.  To get started just cut out all the extra sugar and reduce your other processed carbs.  So, no soda, candy, cake, ice cream, cereal, etc. and reduce things like bread.  Increase the amount of vegetables you eat and for sweetness eat fruit.  Another really good thing to eat is eggs, as many as you want.  Eggs are a nearly nutritionally perfect food for humans.  Be sure to eat the yolk too as that's where most of the good stuff is.  If you are hungry then more vegetables help fill you up and more protein like milk, meat, cheese, nuts, etc. help turn off the hunger signals.

I would recommend getting your diet nutritionally sound as described above first and only then worry about counting calories.  Also, since I assume you are still in puberty, DO NOT cut your calories too much.  You need both the calories and the nutrition for your body to grow properly.  If you cut calories too much and starve yourself during puberty you can screw yourself up for life.

For exercise your goal is to develop more musculature.  For that you need to do strength training.  For muscles to grow you need food; another good reason not to cut calories too much.

For strength training heavy weights such as powerlifting is best if you have an equipped gym available.  If not then bodyweight exercises are also good and can be done by anyone anywhere.  Do not get discouraged if you don't see the results you want in the first week or first month.  It takes time, many months.  Also, you can build a tremendous amount of strength without testosterone.  You can be stronger than most men you see walking around.  Testosterone is not needed for that.  What you cannot do is build a huge bodybuilder type physique without testosterone.  You can get massively strong but not massively big.  The reason is because muscle size is only one factor of many in strength and those other factors are more important than size.

You should also start doing some sort of cardiovascular exercise every day.  Walking is very good.  When you feel like it you can run some, cycle if you have a bike, or swim if you have a pool.  This, alongside a better diet will help burn away fat to reveal the hard work you are putting in.  The muscle you build will also burn more calories all the time further helping your fat loss efforts.

If you are working out hard you need to sleep, at least seven to eight hours, or more, every night.  This has the added benefit of reducing stress hormones that cause your body to store fat.

If any of this helps and you have any questions Then I would be happy to answer them. [emoji846]

see, you are the opposite of me. im at the point where I physically have to eat about 8k calories to maintain at 100lbs. as a mtf person, it makes me sad knowing that im super skinny, the only think I can truly do right now is wait til I get on estrogen(about a 3 month wait) and then ill gain weight eating that amount of food(its medically recommended I eat that amount cause I have a HIGH metabolism). so work out and eat the proper diet to get the body type you want. I honestly have no idea how im so light. I literally eat 10k calories a day minimum and don't do a whole lot of excersize if I don't have to(gamer girl life)

From the previous posts, you can see that we are all different. For those of us who struggle with being over weight, the only thing that works in the long term is diet and exercise.

Different diets work for different people. Just keep trying a safe diet until you find something that works for you. The best diets involve a total change in your eating habits for the rest of your life. Going on a special diet to lose weight and then returning to eating normal after the weight is lost will just cause the weight to be put right back on. Find a diet you can live with for the rest of your life.

Exercise can be in the form of a gym work out or better yet, just get a job that keeps you physically active all day long. Nothing is worse than a sedentary job where you sit all day. Get up and move your body.

Forget the pills, unless you want to take diet pills for the rest of your life. (Not recommended) You can lose some weight with some pills, but when you stop taking the pills you will gain the weight right back.
