Title: Does anyone know of an idiot's guide to eyebrows?
Post by: naa on April 22, 2018, 11:46:57 AM
Does anyone have any advice or know of any guides to feminising AMAB eyebrows?  I'd rather not learn by trial and error, when the errors would be so visible.

If possible, nothing too extreme to begin with, just subtle changes which I can go further with later if I like where it's going.

Imagine a line straight up from the inside corner of your eyes.  Using tweezers with an angled tip, remove hair from that area between your brows.  Later, shape your brows by removing hair from the bottom to create a subtle curve.  It does hurt, no doubt but afterwards the upkeep is manageable.  I use an electric trimmer to reduce hair length, although small scissors work as well.   Good luck.

When I started to be concerned about my brows, I was so afraid to touch them. Fortunately, a friend of my owns a spa and she has looked after setting the foundation in place every six weeks or so. This allows me to just follow the line she has set. Over the past three years she has made my brows a little more feminine. Now I am more confident to 'keep them clean'.

So, after that ramble, my suggestion is to find someone who can give you a good base and can also show you how you can keep the shape. There is a great problem with taking too much out, especially on the top!

All the Best on your journey.

There are many beauty shops who do eyebrows, either by waxing or by plucking or by threading.

I live in the Miami area and with all the Latin girls around here, there are many specialty eyebrow shops  in just about every shopping mall. I go at least once a month and they do wonders for my formerly bushy eyebrows.

I think it's important for brows to be done by an expert; properly done brows can be very beautifying, but on the other hand bad brows can be detrimental to your facial symmetry. After you have them done, you can maintain them for a few months on your own just by tweezing regrown hairs.

A lot of people will tell you never take any from the top.
Good advice for cis women, but for MAAB's there can often be a right angle kink on top along with several outliers up there.  As in all things feminine aim for a nice, smooth curve.

I was tempted to do mine myself but for $12.00 at the salon i go to it was a no brainer. Waxed and threaded and then made up with long lasting no run brow make up. Its a good deal and i was just back for my 4 week clean up and they look so good.
