This is my first post. I attended a Christmas party tonight with my colleagues from a non profit board on which I serve. 2 of the people knew I came out TG and I decided to share experience and state of being with the remainder of the board. I have great friends ... everyone was positive and accepted me for who I am. I am so grateful to have amazing people in my life.
I wore a more feminine outfit tonight on purpose. I wanted to share my story with these friends, so i just addressed them head on and them who I am now. Many of them told me I was more approachable and seemed more at ease with myself. I guess accepting I am TG is really noticeable to people around me because I am more authentic.
This was a great night. Thank you to my friends and colleagues for their support. It means so much to me.

Self acceptance is always the first, and most crucial step. Many of us have friends who don't understand transgender, but tell us that they can see we're happier now. :)
Thanks for sharing this awesome post.
Hugs, Devlyn
You have great friends! :D

Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcome. Devlyn's insight that self-acceptance is a crucial and necessary first step is spot on. I have this big smile inside of me notwithstanding I am experiencing anxiety about what the future will hold. This is a new phase in my life and it is life-affirming. Hugs ... Zoey
Congrats on your milestone. I think it's great your co-workers are willing to investigate before judging. That's basically all we ask.
What a wonderful thing to have happen. May your future continue in that way.
Zoey
Congratulations and may next year bring you more happiness
