Title: Me!
Post by: wharas on November 15, 2016, 12:23:28 PM
I joined this group about 4 years ago although I haven't visited it for some considerable time until now.
Previously I have been on another "fruitcakefeline" site.
I'm 72 years of age. Had my SRS in March 2014 and still have bouts of discomfort.
My latest quest for some self-satisfaction in my life is to consider FFS. I'm fed up with being stared at. I know what I look like and what I am but it seems that people like me will forever be identified as not being your usual binary gender.
Are there any members who have had FFS at my age please?
Thanks for reading,
Sarah

Sarah,

Welcome back. I think I found your old account. Not many posts there. Would it have been Sarahw? If so, would you mind if I remove that account. It is against the site's regulations to have more than one active account.

If that was you, I hope you are more comfortable now. You seemed in a lot of physical and mental pain.

We do have a lot of members who might be able to answer that. I am not sure with regards to age.

I am going to move this post to one that is for FFS. You might have more luck there or in the post op section.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment to:

Things that you should read

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.

With warmth,

Joanna

I believe we had one member who had FFS and a lot of other surgery at the age of 68.  I am not going to give screen names or details for the sake of privacy.  You should go check the FFS sub forum and the MTF transsexual subforum to see if you can find their posts.

Definitely check out and monitor the FFS subforum. bound to be somebody with a similar situation eventually.

My adopted mother (who was trans) came out at 57 and after her orchiectomy , ended up having issues with diabetes, blood clotting, and strokes. Unfortunately she never was able to meet the requirements for SRS or any other surgeries before she died in 2013.

That being said, if you are healthy with no real health problems at age 72, I imagine there are surgeons who would be willing to operate. I think they often require EKGs and such after age 50 or so but to each surgeon their own.

Good luck to you!

Dr. Ousterhout wrote in his book facial feminization surgery, that he operated on two patients above the age of 70. They both did well.
