Title: Facial feminisation surgery without transition
Post by: RobynS on September 19, 2018, 01:21:17 PM
I work now for 10 years as a crossdresser/ dragqueen and female impresonator.
My female side growing day by day now im planning to have ffs surgery in 2019,
But i don't want to have a full transition only facial.
Are here people who have had ffs surgery without full transition?
How does the surgeons reakt are they okey with it and what is a good surgeon?
On this moment i do alot of research on Pete Burns who has also have had a full ffs without transition does any one know's his surgeon?
Also i use Pete Burns as reference wich way i will go also.

This is my face now:

I think if you do lips, nose and cheeks you can easily achieve this look (with makeup, hair, clothes...). You're beautiful.
Also, for ffs, I'm not entirely sure. But I think most plastic surgeons, specfically for ffs, are willing to do procedures you may want.
I think they're fairly open minded?
I saw Dr. Harrison Lee in NYC (he's also in LA) and he seems like a good choice for ffs.
I hope you get more responses closer to what you're lookiny for.

I don't think it's possible for you to achieve that look. The woman's face fuller/round where as your face is thin and longer. In addition, you nose is more feminine than hers as it smaller and tilted up. I think for the most part it will be a matter of how much you want to move your face toward feminine. I can see a problem where you might fall into permanent male fail which unless your prepared for it, might make your life uncomfortable.

Robyn,

You already have soft facial features. Full FFS may not be necessary. You might consider just having dermal fillers injected under your cheeks and in both lips to plump up those areas.

The advantage of dermal fillers is that they last about 6 months or a bit longer, so there is no permanent change to your face. Also, dermal fillers do not leave scars like FFS does.

I know those fillers it's good to use for a short pereod of time but not for long, ive talked to others about it and they warn me that it could have effects on health when you use them for a long pereod.

Ive talked also a lot with my manager about fillers, she said the best way is a full ffs surgery and i will do this not only for my work, but also for my self becouse im bigender and want to go further in the feminine way.

I was just wondering about this for NB people, I'm happy to see I'm not the only one (tho the situations are a bit different).

I'll add to Sam's curiosity about this for NB people.  Although I've publicly transitioned as a woman (and doing ok!), I still have my small masculine side.  I'm a little bit anxious about how I'd feel after FFS, looking in a mirror and seeing someone who is not carrying any trace of masculinity.  Any NB folks done this?

I haven't had FFS, but I think I have a pretty feminine look. Yet on my male days I see Michael looking back out of the mirror, not Devlyn. Your gender is not likely to be influenced by your appearance. People's perception about your gender, on the other hand, will hinge on your appearance.

I hope this helps.  :)

Hugs, Devlyn

I face a struggle very similar to non binary people sharing the body with my female alter. It's a tough balance to maintain.

I recently had fat transfer to my face. A common part of FFS, in my case it was as corrective surgery for a previous cancer surgery. I already had an extremely androgynous body and facial structure and my female alter had no problems being seen as a woman before the procedure. I feel much better about the way I look and the graft made me look 10+ years younger. What I was *not* prepared for was how much the additional cheekiness increased people's misgendering me as female.

It isn't so much about seeing a male or female face in the mirror; that is strictly a matter of whether my female alter or I am fronting. I also don't care if every now and then someone thinks I'm a girl. My primary concern is that ANYONE in her world would associate her with me. I have taken to wearing a Van Dyke whenever I have the body to prevent this.

Of course my female alter is ecstatic. The fullness in my cheeks is comparable to pictures when I was in my 30's. She looks young and pretty, and feels great about herself and her appearance.

My separate male and female identities are only a coping mechanism my mind created to survive childhood trauma, but finding a balance in the way we groom the body has been an ongoing struggle since my female alter became self aware 10 years ago. I spent alot of time on Bigender.net before I was diagnosed with DID. It is vital to each of us that we are seen by the people in our lives as the correct gender, but at the end of the day, we *are* the same person. Hair, finger nails, facial hair, body hair; each one had to be looked at separately to  find a middle ground that satisfied her needs and mine.

This..

You don't have the right underlying structure for a surgeon to recreate a facsimile of Pete Burns, sorry. Going in to FFS with such a fixed idea of the results you want is not a great idea and hopefully you consult with an actual surgeon soon and they educate you on this.

I completely agree with this. It has to be a plastic surgeon's worst case scenario when a client shows up with a picture of someone else they want to look like. They're in the business of feminising you, not changing you.

Don't know anything about Pete Burns, I guess I will have to take your word at FFS because it looks like they still have a brow ridge. To me it just looks like they put in a bunch of botox to puff out their cheeks.

Some people don't have photoshop.

As for me, not only do I want to look like a female, but I want my entire skin color changed so I can express my futuristicness which I am from the future everyone else is way behind. Although, it would kind of make it hard for me to get away with anything or hide my identity too. So idk.

Are you a surgeon? Then even a pic of yourself changed in Photoshop is not going to be of any real constructive use - you'll change the face based purely on aesthetics - the surgeon also has to contend with what is surgically possible.

Then you might find looking outside of the regular FFS surgeons is a plan.. There are more than a few surgeons around who will do "odd" things when the price is right..

I don't know if I'm nb or not but I don't think I really fit into the gender binary. I'm afab and transitioned ftm but where I'm at now I'd prefer if my body neck down is female but I like the masculinity I got added to my face. I always had an androgynous face and when I took testosterone it got more masculine with a stronger, wider jaw and beard growth. I think my face looks more harmonic and together now, and that I can vary between if I want a beard or be shaven smooth.

I don't think I can "see myself" in the mirror though but that's because of my dissociative issues and not really because of my gender situation, although there is some overlap. Sometimes I feel disheartened when I think I see "clearly a man" in the mirror cause I feel like I am a woman. And also cause I think my face doesn't quite look like it belongs to my body. Kinda like someone put a Ken doll's head on a Barbie doll's body. But I also remind myself that me having masculine facial features doesn't make me not a woman, it just means I'm masculinised and also that there's nothing wrong with that, regardless of my gender. That I'm still beautiful and this is still and always has been my face, and that it's a face that I can love as it is.

I also have to be hard on myself to not let other people's expectations of me make me think I should change the way I look. Like I've often times had a hard time trying to explain to people why I want to keep my facial hair as a woman, because that didn't fit their view of what they thought a woman should want to look like. So that's a thing to keep in mind: people are gonna shove their opinions about your looks down your throat, esp if you get "uncommon" alterations.

I don't feel any wish to further alter my face in any way, or to transition further towards masculinity in any other capacity. But my point is I already did have my face altered (although hormonally, not surgically) and I'm satisfied with that, although on occasion I feel disconnected to it. Or at the very least I don't regret it at all and I embrace it as a positive change to my looks.

So I relate to only wanting to transition your face but not the rest of your body. In that sense I recognise myself but as a female-bodied person with a masculinised face instead.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm nb but my gender aligns with my body's sex cause I see myself as a woman. But because my body is now a mix of male and female and I like to keep it that way, I don't think I fit the binary. I have a strong masculine side to my female gender but I see it mostly as my slightly over-powered "animus".

You look good looking to me. I wouldn't worry about your appearance to much, you look nice.

Thank you. I think I look good too, for the most part. But I guess maybe we all have "bad days" about how we look sometimes. Also I think I do look very different with no makeup on, like that's what's doing most of the femininity on my face. I know I need to work on my confidence about being in public without makeup on as well.
