Any media. Comics, books, cartoons, etc.
I'm a DC fan myself, but I don't have any specific superhero I adore over all others. I'm a Batman fanboy, and I pay most attention to him or any of the sidekick characters, but he's not my favorite.
I like Iron man, because he is cocky, arrogant, and super hot.
Spider man is pretty awesome too, because he is so ordinary
Mmm, Spiderman. I was trying to think of a girl one, but I could only think of Wonder Woman, Invisible Woman, and Hawke Girl, and I was like meh. Actually no I change my mind, Raven from Teen Titans. ^.^
I can definitely tell you who my least favorite superhero is, SUPERMAN!!!
Spiderman
She Hulk
Rogue
The Silver Surfer
And even though she is a villain I like Mystique the most.
;)
Mystique! Yes! :D Definately!
Catwoman.
... Sailor Moon.

As much as I love the original Japanese dub of Sailor Moon, you have to admit that she herself is pretty weak sauce. :P
Willy Wonka

midnighter.... i'm all for exaggerated violence.
a bit worried about what DC will do with him now, though. missing the coat :'(
Gambit
Nightcrawler
Rorschach(His mask is superhero enough for me to count him haha)
:]
I was a big fan od Superman when I was very young. He was strong yet such a gentleman. I thought he could do anything.
I use to day dream about me being his Super girl, having similar Super powers to him, but a girl's version, of course.
Oh garsh... too many to name! I'll just name some of my favourites.
DC:
#1) Batman!! (Favourite Batmans being Bruce Wayne, of course, and Terry McGinnis.)
#2) John Constantine
#3) The Spectre (Jim Corrigan.)
#4) Rorschach. (Way cooler than the Question!)
#5) Catwoman!
#6) Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes.)
#7) Aquaman! (What more needs to be said?)
#8) Deadman
(I really need to play Arkham City!! :'()
Marvel:
#1) Spiderman!!
#2) The Hulk
#3) Ghost Rider
#4) Wolverine
#5) The Punisher
#6) Deadpool
#7) Thor
#8) Wolfsbane
#9) The Vision
#10) Storm
#11) Beast
#12) Rogue
Image:
#1) Spawn (Duh!! XD)
Dark Horse:
#1) Hellboy
#2) Conan
#3) Johann Kraus
#4) Abraham Sapien
X-Files: (Because these characters are just as much superheroes as Batman or Hellboy are!)
#1) Agent Scully!!
#2) Agent Mulder
#3) A.D. Skinner
#4) Agent Doggett
... #5) Alex Krycek! (He's not a superhero, not even a good guy, but he actually had a few ambiguously "hero" moments and he is incredibly hot too... so I decided to put him up here!)
def superman
Rorschach and Punisher
I used to really like Spiderman, but the movies kinda ruined him and now I don't like him anymore hah.
Nowadays it'd be a tossup between Batman and Hiro Nakamura (Heroes)
My favourite superhero was always Green Lantern - specifically Hal Jordan - something about the delight in freedom with which he flew.
My favourite superheroine was always Dazzler - who could turn sound into light.
My favourite super-non-humanoid was always Lockjaw, the Inhuman dog-with-a-tuning-fork who could teleport people :).

OMG i remember her! Wasn't she the girl from the X-Men who fought in roller skates and a microphone?
She was like Gem but with attitude!
I don't know about all that, I only read one comic with her in and was hooked for life! She was a dance teacher, and lost her job because she got roped in by the Inhumans to help sort out some baddie who was causing darkness over their base on the moon (so she got transported there by Lockjaw, bless).
Oh, I should say my other favourite superhero is Black Bolt. It took me decades to realise that his power/curse (that if he spoke it would cause huge destruction, so he either never spoke or barely whispered to make big shockwaves) was somehow a reflection of my childhood experience of being abused and made to keep silence about it. He always seemed beautiful to me in his noble silence, and with all this power behind it.

I agree! And I'm sorry that happened to you, that's terrible... :'(
... but I'm pretty sure Dazzler was kind of a rockstar, yes? She had the mutant ability to create all kinds of special effects with lights and the like, which she augmented her concerts with. Perhaps she was a dance teacher at a certain point in her life, though. I don't know about that one. :-\
Yes, I think she later became a rock star, but back when I read this comic, she was still at the "humble beginnings" stage :).
My new fave octopus...Wunderpus!!!
(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fupload.wikimedia.org%2Fwikipedia%2Fcommons%2Fthumb%2F3%2F36%2FWunderpus_photogenicus.jpg%2F547px-Wunderpus_photogenicus.jpg&hash=fd3ff12ab40b7783fbb2dc5ff22cf17800ce6add)
I can't help feeling that Wonderpus probably has a really gross special power involving the squirting of rainbow-coloured pus at her/his enemies.
If that is an octopus that shots rainbows, it would be my new favorite superhero.
I'm a Marvel fanboy ;D Spiderman, Thor and Iron Man for me.
I do detest Batman being classified as a superhero though - my definition of superhero implies altered genetics/superhuman status. Batman is a detective, and I can accept him as a HERO, but not a superhero. Does anyone else agree or am I just being cocky about it? :D

It has crossed my mind before. However, if you don't exactly have any superpowers and you still manage to take down a superpowered foe with relative ease then I'd say that's pretty super heroic. Besides that, Batman has so many resources and skills that he might just be "super" in that respect. He's incredibly smart, he's super rich, he is one of the most physically powerful "normal" human males - able to lift 800-1000 pounds of dead weight, in a bind - and he is able to do many spiritual techniques, like astral projection, that could be considered other-worldly or (indeed) "super".
Just some things to ponder about Batman. :P
For male I say Tuxedo Mask but for female it's definately Sailor Uranus but I can't mention her without Sailor Neptune
My favorite hero is Captain America, the Sentinel of Liberty. "Avengers assemble!"
Batman
But I also like she hulk

Even though she's a villain..Ryoko from Tenchi Universe.
It can only be Batman for me.
I think its because Batman could be real, he is after all just a rich dude with alot of time on his hands. Superman etc are all a bit too out here in terms of suspending disbelief for me.
I like Superman because he's the posterboy of superheroes and because it bothers Batfans :P. I also like The Flash because his expressions and quips are so funny.

I got turned on to the show in the summer of 2013. I found out about it from a former forum member here that Sherry Lynn worked on the show. Since I was really into Sherry's work as Portia Porcupine on the Get Along Gang, I decided to check it out. Then once I heard the voice of Sasami (who basically sounds like a slightly older version of Portia), then I was hooked.

Gosh I feel old. I was hooked on that when it was running on Toonami in 2000. It was a great show, but I couldn't tell the difference between Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Universe.

:D :D I was in high school when you were born.
Maybe Tenchi Universe was the US version of the name of the show. But I don't know. But I noticed at the conclusion of the final episode "No Need For a Conclusion", it says 'Tenchi Muyo'. So, maybe they are one and the same. It's the only Tenchi stuff that I own and will probably stay that way. I am really picky when it comes to voice casts when shows/series end up changing casts. It's the same reason why it took me a while to get past the fact that the Get Along Gang pilot on Nicklelodeon had an entirely different cast than what was on the CBS series. Same thing with the animated version of Fraggle Rock from the late 80's versus the original puppet version that was on HBO before that. I refuse to watch the animated version of Fraggle Rock for that reason.
I'm not the world's biggest superhero fan, to be honest. I tend to shy away from all the movies and whatnot. But, if I had to say one, it would be Rogue, from the X-men cartoons made quite a long time ago. I had the biggest crush on her. I think it was the accent, lol.

In general, the X-Men. Specifically, Kitty Pryde and Emma Frost. But I've pretty much been an "X-Men first, every other superhero second" girl.
Its def gotta be spiderman. He's the true definition of a hero to me. He has to sacrifice everything in life for the greater good. Even when things look like they are going his way something else bad happens.

Spiderman ..always has been..always will be.
I'm not sure if he is a villain or hero, but I LOVE deadpool
I like the quirky heroes. I just love the Jessica Jones Netflix series. I love her attitude. Also, how many superheroes can drink like her? Deadpool and the Guardians of the Galaxy would be my next choices.
Paige :)
Growing up I was always a fan of Spiderman. I love that he is super-agile and wirey. I also love what an ordinary person Peter Parker is.
I also loved the X-men. Big fan of Beast, because I love that he is friendly, smart and cuddly. I also have always loved Storm. Lately, I think about Storm a lot, her powers are so cool. She always came across to me as a little older and more together than the other X-men.
Squirrel Girl is awesome, so glad to see her get love here!
mine is female Harley Quinn Margot Robbie may have had something to do with that
Male Super Man and Bat man
Superman. Tops
But there is some appeal to the sexy badass Harley Quinn,
and the new Wonder Woman flick gave me a Big O when she went to work.

The writers were nice to She-Hulk and let her keep a human appearance. (because god forbid having an ugly woman in a comic)
She's also a lawyer, so she kicks butt on multiple levels!
My favorite DC superhero is The Flash (Barry Allen although I also like Bart) . My favorite Marvel superhero is Spiderman (Both Peter and Miles)
Marvel - Spidey
DC - Barry Allen
In Boy/Man Mode - Captain America
In Girl/Woman Mode - Wonder Woman - always wanted to be an Amazon :)
Captain America in any mode! Well, as for the hero that I worship. For the ones I wanted to be it was always Ms./Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) or Shadowcat. ;D

In a fun coincidence, she's being played by the girl from Split. So she is now part of two superhero franchises with James McAvoy. (Though it might be a stretch to call the M. Night movies a franchise in the same way that X-Men is.)
If they go all in with the New Mutants semi-horror movies even with the license going to Disney now (they planned a trilogy), expect to see them really revolve around her given her original backstory (not sure what they changed post retcons in the 2000s). There was even a major crossover story event that she played pretty much the pivotal part in, and dealt heavily with the darker supernatural part of Marvel that also would play into the theme of the movies (the Madeline Pryor/Goblin Queen crossover, who is Cable's mother, which featured as a time travel type deal that comes full circle when Cable shows up later and turned New Mutants into X-Force).

Characters in British comics weren't usually called superheroes, although there was Marvel Man in the American format. I suppose that Dan Dare qualifies as a superhero. I was also fond of Jason Hyde, who could read minds and had fantastic adventures. Garth, in a daily strip, had super strength. British comics were mostly divided into those for boys and those for girls. When I got to read girls' comics, my favourite character was Lucky's Living Doll, a doll that came to life and could help her owner and talk to animals. I later followed the Modesty Blaise adventures in a daily strip.
I started getting American comics in 1961, although they could be several months old while displayed in British shops.
I have a soft spot for the Barry Allen Flash as it was the first American comic I ever got. He faced the Mirror Master in #119. I still love the artwork when I see it on the Web. My brother got a Batman comic at the same time. It was actually a year older than mine.
I later got Giant Superman Annual #1 although it had been published earlier than my Flash. I remember my brother teasing me when when he caught me pretending to be Supergirl. I had forgotten about that. I hope he has.
I then became enamoured of The Jaguar, an Archie Comics superhero. I looked his comics up on the Web and I can see why. Before he gains superpowers, he risks his life to save a Jaguar. When he gains his powers, he is attacked by jaguars (ungrateful &%^*s) and thinks to himself "the poor things are trying to bite me". Quite sweet and gentle as superheroes go. Tarzan would probably have killed them all (yeah, I know you don't get jaguars in Africa).
Later, my favourite American comic was Mystery in Space in which Adam Strange and Alanna shared adventures. At different times I became fond of the Legion of Superheroes (I really liked Saturn Girl), Metamorpho, Metal Men, Spider Man and the X-Men.
I read comics over and over again so I came to recognise my favourite artists. They would still have to be Carmine Infantino and Steve Ditko.
My favourite American superhero has to be Doctor Strange, though. I started my collection of occult books with the intention of creating my own Sanctum Sanctorum.
I don't know if he is considered a superhero or not but Deadpool. I think he's funny.

@The Passage I am also a big fan of The Spectre! Very old school. Other than him, I think my favorite is Mystique of the X-Men since she is a chameleon, and I can relate to that. Some others: Hit Girl, The Hulk, Deathlock, Wonder Woman, Dead Pool, Rorschach, and a host of others. I actually have a very extensive comic collection including some complete sets ( The Watchmen, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, The Ultimates, Airtight Garage... ) and a couple vintage ones, such as Spider Man #12 ( A movie was based on it ).
