Hey gals,
I'm now 2.5 months on HRT but finding changes going rather slow. I think I'm doing great breast-wise but waiting for fat changes/muscle atrophy is making me really worried. For those of you farther along when did facial changes start being apparent to you? How long did it take before you were satisfied with your face? Even my neck is like a tree trunk, did anyone notice any good reduction in size there?
Thanks!! :-*
Claire,
From your profile, I read that you are 25 years old. You are right on the border between adolescent and fully developed man. If you were any younger you would go straight into female mode.
I am a late transitioner and I needed FFS in order to pass. Also, it helped immensely to lose weight. Even with those two things done, I needed about 3 years of HRT in order to pass.
At 2.5 months, you are just beginning. Take a picture now and next year and you will see some difference. To see a real difference, take another picture 2 or 3 years from now. HRT is slow to feminize, but it does happen, eventually.
I started really seeing changes at about 3 months, here is 3 weeks on hrt, 3 months, and 6 months.

I started at 35, already noticed good redistribution at 3 months in. Nothing that's like male fail level yet, but definitely there.
Facial hair removal with laser (about 5 times) and a bit of make up, and finally even I start to see myself, after 5 months of HRT.
As stated you are just starting you have to give it time. I've read that the fat redistribution part takes about 3 years to finalize. Now for me I am a year on HRT I noticed slight changes to my face at about 6 months but, it was slight. I have noticed it looks more feminine now. I resemble my mother a lot. I expect that the fat will continue to change cause my sides and thighs are just now changing slightly. I don't resemble a box now. ;D :D

Before and now, 3 years 5 months. It takes time but I think my face has changed a lot. My neck is still bigger than I like but my hair covers it up mostly.
Thanks so much girls for sharing the photos! I know it's early and I should be happy with the breast development I'm getting but I guess I'm just at that super antsy stage... I really just want to get hit with some real changes :/. I feel 100% still a guy physically, Even looking at myself while wearing a bra is freaky it just looks too boxy and like I'm hunch back or something.
I'm not really even ready to come out yet but I'm excited to get adding the new experiences to my daily life (makeup, clothing etc). The sooner I get in to it and can get comfortable the better :/
I've just notice some slight changes in my face. I don't think anyone else would notice. In male mode I think I look basically the same (no male fail). When I put on my make up and my hair there is a difference that I have noticed from my female photos from years ago. I think my process is slow. I've been on HRT for 14 months. Have done a ton of laser and electrolysis on the face but people don't notice or don't say anything when I'm in male mode about lack of facial hair.

Your face will not change shape. Your skin will change texture, and you will need electrolysis for a female face. And if you lose weight your face will naturally change, not caused by HRT.
Physically, HRT changes varies from person to person. Breast size growth on HRT are dictated genetically, usually from your mum's side. Redistribution of fat takes 2 to 3 years. Muscle bulk 2 to 3 years. Its important to eat healthy and lose weight and continue to exercise to build healthy female shaped muscles.
I have been on HRT for 6 years and I finally see the fat redistribution on my hips. But for me the big changes occurred after SRS, I am not sure why tho.

I have been stagnant on weight loss and my face has changed dramatically even in just 4 months. I know what I look like thin and I know what I look like fat, and this is definitively neither, but something new entirely that does read female. The underlying bones don't shift of course, but to say the face does not change shape isn't really the same thing, as fat placement is possibly even more dramatic than bone in some cases.
I would say, that face shape definitely changes with HRT. I finally have upper lip, it has grown due to HRT, also the area between nose and upper lip, has gone buffier as well as cheecks and fat around lower jaw, making my face much rounder.
So yes, the face shape definitely changes, but not the underlying bones, thus the change isnĀ“t huge of course.
