Title: Binding with a twist
Post by: TransKaty on February 23, 2015, 07:47:04 PM
Hello everyone. Ok so i know a lot of trans men bind to reduce their chest size but I started binding to get a smaller ribcage(I have 0 boobs I haven't started hormones yet) I start hormones probably around March 31st when I go back to my doctor.. But I was wondering would it be possible to shrink my band size with a binder? I have a 31-33in binder and it doesn't feel too tight or anything on 31.
Does anyone else use a binder to get a smaller band size?
Thank you so much, sorry I ramble so much I'm just super curious to see if anyone else does this and if it actually works.
By the way I'm going from a boy to a girl.  :)

I wouldn't try to squish your ribs so much. Breathing is a very important thing to live.

No.. Binding will not shrink your ribcage.. It might, however, cause you health issues.

You could, by all technicality, shrink your rib cage that way. It's not a good thing. It can cause a lot of stress on your internal organs, breathing problems will start up as well. With your rib size, it'll already be regarded as slender. You'll likely need to break ribs (or remove them) for it to get smaller.

Take this how you will....

About five years ago I was working on a swing stage on the outside of an eleven storey building. Three of us were doing concrete repairs to the outside of the building. I was going through the bag of rags and found a tee shirt that maybe would have been a size four-ish. Something that would have fitted a four year old.
I lifted it up and suggested if anyone would be willing to give me a $50 if I could put it on. I put it on and about four minutes later asked for help to get it off. They had to cut it off,and for about four hours later I had pins and needles and chest spasms/ cramps that night.
Yeh binders may not be so extreme but the fact I realised that blood ,like sap in the trees flows mostly on the surface.
Don't know if this may help (you can have a laugh at this, post it in the funnies,we laughed later on ,but in all seriousness some things if they don't feel right they might not be)
