Title: What's Your Favorite Feminine Style?
Post by: sally0196 on November 18, 2018, 02:27:31 PM
I guess if I had to classify myself, I am a "girly" girl.  I like a look that is traditionally feminine.  Consequently, I wear mostly skirts or dresses and I choose a fit that accentuates my curves.  I always wear shoes with higher heels and I like to show off my legs (although, nothing unreasonably short).  I think my favorite clothing style is business feminine, a polished look, that exudes just a touch of sexy.

So, what's your favorite style?

Hugs,

Sally

That question is really hard to definitively answer.  There are so many styles, outfit combinations, colors, materials, accessories, shoes, and hairstyles to go with this all, plus many of these look good and feminine.  I will rule out the emo look as not of personal interest!  Then there are looks I would like to look good in, but currently do not.

Nice business attire I like, but less formal blouses with pants or A-line skirts can look nice.  Sweaters, scarfs, even deep pink hoodies or Ts with jeans.   I have never bought a women's formal suit though.

If I get more curves, yes, I would like to accentuate them.  Right now I am experiencing no-gap pants that appear to snuggle in a little more at the waist as my waist to hip difference improves a little at a time. So the pants do "show" a tad more curviness, even if it is has a straight cut rather than a curvy cut.

Kind of the same, conservative business look.

Clean and tailored. I guess I like business style.

Boho/hippie but polished for work. Or rough for car work = tank and overalls

Alternative goth/rock chick, sometimes Boho & sometimes classic femme ( seamed stockings & such ). Dare I say a 'Tomboy' look for day-to-day practicality? That would be ladies cut jeans, perhaps a tank-tee vest & unisex hoodie, which most of the local CIS women seem to sport. Depends on the mood of the moment really & is it day/night? Night time is bound to be more adventurous & a lot more femme.

Hugs,

Johnni xoxo

As I have to teach and lecture, I usually wear business style clothes. In leisure time, I prefer looking like teenager or college student by wearing casuals.

Age appropriate flirty, (just not my current age!)
My skirts, dresses and shorts are a tiny bit too short, my tops are a tiny bit too low cut and too sheer. My jeans are decorated. My shoes depend upon the activity.

Age appropriate (at least for someone 10 years younger than my chronological age, lol) business casual is my daily go-to style. Generally dark pants or jeans, nice top (blouses preferred), blazer or cardigan over top - minimal jewelry. Always a bra underneath to keep my girls up & shaped nicely. Outside of the office it's mostly either jeans or yoga pants with layered tops; comfy casual, but pulled together. Sometimes a casual hat if I don't feel like putting on my topper or wig.

I have yet to find a skirt or dress that I like enough to overcome my remaining anxiety. For now, skirts are rare and usually worn at home. Working up my nerve to wear a nice print dress with tights, a cardigan & booties to the office one of these days.

I love shoes, but have a wide foot and a limited budget so that restricts my shoe choices to what I can find on a clearance rack, on sale online, or at Payless. In a way it's good that my shoe budget is limited - otherwise there'd need to be a closet at home just for my shoes, LOL

preppy is probably my favourite, but I find it a bit easier to dress mainstream femme on a daily basis - plus I'm still building my wardrobe.
other styles I love are rockabilly and I would like to try out lolita at least once.

Preppy can look very nice.  Rockabilly can be too.

Another (middle-aged) preppy here...I'd be a Lands End model most days with the occasional conservative dress-up as required socially.

I'd be a L.L. Bean model.   :)

I am not in the work life anymore (thank god), and can wear what I want.  I prefer mostly the more casual /elegant style.  Sometime I wear more sporty, but never grungy style clothing.  But I prefer to mostly look modern elegant!

In theory, I like a lot of LL Bean's stuff. In practice, most LL Bean clothes are frumpy on me :P.

Where do you ladies like to shop?  I've been eyeing items at Express, but am just really unsure on how to put things together.  I know what I like on other people, but that doesn't necessarily mean it looks good on me.  I am having a hard time understanding what shapes/styles fit me best.

I shop all over the place, no specific store.  But I like the pricing at TJ Max, Marshalls and similar outlet type store.  Most of the time I go together with a girl friend, and she helps me with my decission making.

I do like some clothing with little flowers all over, and I love the flowers on a deep purple or dark red or dark pink cloth.  I think the pattern is called millefleur.  The flowers can differ.  I like some, but not all, of the flower patterns.

I like almost anything with some lace on, or embroidery on that looks like lace!

Try a skirt suit or sheath with a suit blazer and low pumps. Can't go wrong.

The style I like is the business casual with an endless array of skirts and tops. I love florals. And, of course, tall boots. Dresses are hard for me because I have a long torso.

The style I wear, for now at least, is jeans and T-shirts, but women's jeans/jeggings most of the time.

I guess it depends what I'm doing. On a typical day, it's skinny or bootcut jeans and a cute top. I LOVE my boots and have amassed quite a collection. If I'm going out to a club or bar, typically something revolving around one of my bodycon mini skirts and heels. Around the house, forget it. Yoga pants or leggings and a baggy hoodie all day. I guess I'm just a typical 20-30 year old lol

Thanks! Actually I have tried hard to look like a kind of fashion model with modest results.

Tunics and jeans. I love cowl neck tunics. Booties with a low heel. Sweater dresses and boots. Scarves. Simple jewelry.

I do a lot of work outside or in the garage. That is a challenge...to be practical and not look like my old self. Instead of a wig I usually wear a simple head cover on these days. I'm more likely to get be called "sir" that way which I hate. I'd like to get another wig...nothing expensive...to wear on days when I am doing this sort of work so people get the point. Also, I am only a year into transition so many of my old/work clothes are men's which does not help. I think I may hit the thrift store on 50% off days to try and find some women's work clothes. Nothing is more of a buzzkill than going un-noticed in public unless dealing with someone one on one and then the next day get mis-gendered. It does have its advantages at times however...like going into an auto parts store.

I love leggings, skinny jeans, tunics and boots during this time of year.  I also have several cute dresses and skirts that I love wearing leggings and either tall or short boots with.

Basically, if you are wanting to know what my style is then let me just say that Torrid, Avenue, and Cato are my favorite shopping places.

Thanks, Trudie! I'll definitely give that a try - slowly building my work wardrobe, as time and money allow.  :-)
