Title: Just some questions.
Post by: Dersi on March 04, 2006, 12:01:13 PM
Hi, I have meet this girl (TS) shes is transitioning and has found some oddities about her body let me tell you and I hope you could give me some insigth.

She has without the help of hormones or other meds, but t ocurred naturally

Normal male genitalia, althougth in the low avg range.
Female secondary sexual characterist like:
-female arms (confirmed)
-female legs (seems so)
-wide pelvis
-No adams apple
-kinda feminine face
-low body hair
-gynomastia starte at age 11 and went A cup for years

The skeletal system was a big odditie, since she didnt take any hormones till past the age of growing.

I know some males can develop some femnine trais and some females masculine traits, but they seems to be a lot of "concidences" in her body.

I have been trying to find some answers for this.

So far I think she has minimum an endocrin weird system.

And that she has either had more estrogen in her body to create this sort of development or her anrogen receptors are defective.

Btw, there are some others things, but I will disclose them upon request. Thanks for listenning.

Hello Dersi,

Welcome to Susan's. It's great that you care enough to hunt down this info for your friend. Support from a good friend is very important. For answers you have come to the right place. We are full of information advice and support. You will find us to be a friendly bunch.

The condition you are describing is called intersexed. Here is a link to our wikipedia where I think you will find most of the answers you are looking for. We also have posts from people who are diagnosed intersexed in the Intersexed section you may want to read these. So fix yourself a cup of tea or other relaxing beverage, sit down take your shoes off and set a spell.

Interesting. :) I have most of those traits also but don't think it makes me intersexed - or does it? Where does one draw the line?

Well, here is more info.

I do think she migth be IS but since the normal male genitalia is there, im kinda baffled at what could be. The aprt that get us thinking about IS is the female skeletal system, since she got all that with jsut normal passage of time, but since she was having a male fat distribution she didnt looked at all like female.

But she lived hiding her body for years, embarressed of the notorious gynomastia.

Now, there is another thing. It seems she has been having PMS for like years, and they were monthly. Could this mean she got a hormonal cycle?

Plus now that she has started to take hormones, those symtomp has been greater but more regular and... she seems to be cramping for like 5 days till the PMS ends (ok, I agree with her on that seems delusional, but who knows)  knwo some grls gets cramping but at the same time I dont know.

And the PMS well, thats more or less normal.

If there was only one minor thing, I will think its just normal of an hormones related thing. But since they are a lot of things... she is a bit scared.

Now, if she is IS what type and what tests should be us to determine the condition. Here in México the problem is that we lack a good health care. And if she wants some good health care, money is an issue.

And I will prefer to have all the info I could muster.

Especially reply #7, sounds very similar. You need to poke around in some of these past threads. There is a world of information here at Susan's.
