Title: Future Facial/Body Hair opinions
Post by: Dark.Knight on May 13, 2013, 09:54:02 PM
So I'm pre everything and I wanted to know if my current ability to grow facial hair and body hair will help me when I start T? I've always wanted a goatee like my Dad. I keep my facial hair long and shape it up so its not wild. The pictures I provided for better opinion and reference. I've read that guys can pass better without peach fuzz, but I'm not sure if I fall under fuzz?

I also still have long hair and keep it braided and normally have a shape up/edge up but in the pic I was in the process of growing back my sideburns because the new barber I HAD messed it up. I stopped shaving my pits and other body hair and have a hairy stomach I usually cut into a thick line, but I figured you guys didn't want to see my gut lol (I'm getting back in shape though)
But please opinion, and personal experience, your buds similar story etc.
Thanks ahead.

That or just crazily high T levels. I mean, I'm pre-T and recently started being able to grow out light scruffy sideburn hair. It's more than you would see on a cisfemale...but damn. I wish I could grow hair like that, man.

Man I wouldn't doubt it my mom has/had it she got surgery to remove the cyst a couple years ago ( I'm young so I have the chance to save myself (only reason would be to harvest my eggs into my girl for kids) but if I go check it out and tell me I'm not going to be able to anyway oh well take them I'm a man dammit lol

I probably have crazy high T levels too, wouldn't X that out either. My voice can go quite deep not as deep as I think T will take me and I have some what of a Adams apple I can jump around, my girlfriend thinks it looks gross lol.
But I wish my side burns were thicker like yours, I get hair there but not as much as I'd like. I was told apply like mascara to your hair can thicken what you have but I don't know how I feel with having to keep up with eye gunk on my burns.
So from that reaction I will assume I'm past the peach fuzz and it helps me pass facially?

That hair... dude!
Don't shave it off! Just don't! :o
It's like the best pre-T FtM hair I've EVER seen. Since I'm on the manly side myself I'm hardly ever jealous of masculine girls, but heck! I felt a slight sting when I saw your hairs!

Ah yes, sorry, I didn't quite mean the word to refer to you, as to refer to REAL masculine girls, like butch lesbians, etc. but now I read it again I see I should have phrased it differently.
And yeah, definitely don't shave your 'peach fuzz', your fuzz is far beyond the 'peach' phase already! ;)

I actually had a similar experience with my facial hair. I was able to grow facial hair before I started T, but it wasn't something that you could really *do* anything with. I had a lot of chin scruff and a crappy mustache, and was super hairy body-wise.

I think it helped when I went on T. It must have been a good sign that I could grow facial hair before starting, and I've noticed that my growth has been much, much faster than other guys. What I had just got darker and thicker, and started spreading. It just started to branch out more and more, and now I'm starting to get a more definite beard (I'm seven months on T right now). I think it was a month and a halfish ago that I started growing hair more on the sides of my face, which was also exciting.

So, I would say it's a good sign. If you can grow facial hair and you have an adam's apple, odds are you will masculinize a lot faster. It won't be instant, but I imagine you'll notice quite a difference between you and other guys that start around the same time.

I think fuss is only "bad" if there very small and light while the rest of your body is wellgrown and dark, but your look okay long and there all dark which is great.

I would just think you where a guy who hadnt shaved in some time without thinking future.

Thick? Nah, it's just a mixture of fuzz with some darker hairs. Barely visible but feels like a carpet on the sides of my face. Which is obnoxious, it's gotten slightly darker so I'm trying to grow it out and see if maybe I could do something with it. Of course, I can't get dark hair in useful places but I'm a freaking hobbit  :P Someone needs to direct my body on how to grow hair, it's all crazy and only adds to me looking like I've first started puberty and am excitedly trying to grow out my crappy facial hair (not far from the truth).

Sorry for threadjacking lol. Your hair actually looks okay though, and with a bit of T to help you could most certainly have a goatee.

I already had a almost full beard before starting T. It was from a benign ovarian androgen producing tumor (they did misdiagnose me as a teen with PCOS).

Will you grow hair (body and face) quickly when you get on T? In my experience, yes. I'm turning into an Ewok five months in and you probably will too, lol.

HOLY CRAP YOU'RE PRE-T?!???

I NEVER would have guessed that! Haha! You're very lucky in this aspect!

Given, I'm pre-T as well, and also have a LOT of body hair, but I still don't even come close to comparing! My arms are the hairiest, and I've got short, black hairs growing all over my body (literally ALL over). My mustache hairs are black, but they're thin and not *too* long, so they're not noticeable at all until you get right up on my face. :/ And then they just look pathetic. Oh, and there's also the blonde hairs on my chin that are barely visible even up close...go figure, the only part of my body with blonde hairs is the part I want to be noticeably hairy. Couldn't get them on my chest or nothing. Even the miniature hairs on my shoulders are darker than those mofos.

I was always told I was so hairy because I was Italian, and I believed that. Of course, now that I'm older, I did a lot of research and self-diagnosed as PCOS. Although, I don't even think that was all of the problem. I get the feeling T was the first of my hormones to "wake up" as I grew. I had full-grown body hair all over by the time I was 6 or 7. School was hell.

Good luck on T (although you hardly need it!). I can only hope that I'll be able to achieve results that look like your starting point once I begin on T!

Yeah, indeed :P
I have so little body hair I hardly have eyebrows lol (the ones in my profile pic were drawn on, and I usually darken them because it looks super freaky to have no eyebrows :s) I never shave, obviously, but I hardly have to. :(
My frame is pretty masculine, with big shoulders and small(er) hips, and so are my boobs that are the size of a girl just getting into puberty, but the rest nears very much towards feminine. Especially the hair, lol. It'll take really long before I can grow decent facial hair, I'm afraid, even my dad doesn't have that much hair, it's genetics... :/

Thanks everyone for your input and helping me understand where my body will be going on T. Considering I'm trans its fortunate yet not so fortunate since I wanted to give my eggs to my girl not saying its canceled out because of PCOS or any other ovarian problems it just worries me a little. I must say though you guys who were hairy before and now grow like Chia pets this makes me really happy. I'm going to go to the doctors once I get insurance and see whats really going on inside. I know facial hair doesn't make a man but goatees, stubbled jaw, and the chin strap are small things I look forward to. Thanks again for answering my main question of predicting where my hair will be in the T to come.

The guys who say its genetics, yes it is! my Dad grows hair long on his head and face. I've seen my Dad have braids longer than mine at times and fades all in the same year back and forth. Short goatees to bin laden goatees. My mom has a thick long head of hair and her father grows hair from every place, ears, nose, face, and legs. I saw someone mention their background as Italian. I'm black, Panamanian, Sicilian, Indian, Native-American, etc and all of my ppl are hairy or long haired and hairy so my genetics are very fortunate.
To the guys not as fortunate now it all comes in time which is the best part, when you get there you will look back and smile.
We're all different which is cool, but thanks guys for input and the confidence boost.

If you're really worried about this, talk to a doctor and have some tests run. Remember, PCOS usually makes it harder to conceive, but not in all cases impossible. I know I made the mistake of thinking I couldn't get pregnant (hypothyroidism also fueled the problem), and I never used condoms. Ended up backfiring on me a few years down the road, and it was so unbelievable it took me months to even admit that's what was going on (it didn't survive, but I was also too much the partying, not-eating type, so I don't blame that at all on my condition). It's good to keep an open mind that maybe something will be too far wrong to be able to save the eggs, but it's also good to know that there may still be hope. Just be realistic with what to expect. And good luck, I really hope you're able to save them. I'd say it's best to look into it before starting on any T, just to give them the best chance possible.

That is REALLY expensive and considered an elective procedure so insurance isn't going to cover it. Even to harvest them and keep them frozen is thousands of dollars a year. I had looked into freezing some before my hysto and the cheapest I found was around 5 grand a year...that's just to keep them on ice.

I hope you're able to do what you want but truth is for a lot of young people it's not probable. Especially so for those of us who have hormones, surgeries, and court fees to consider as well. Not trying to be a downer, just realistic. Remember that any baby she has will be your baby too. All the money you could possibly spend on that could pay for your transition or even give a non genetically related child a college education.

Very true Simon & Doll. I know what comes with PCOS my mother has/had it. But I will keep all in mind and all realistic. I will also act fast because I'm young now and later I know its way more difficult. Thank you guys for your concern and I'll get to the OBGYN asap.
