So I'm just over 13 months on T, and I was wondering what other guys' experiences with facial hair were at this point. So far for me, I only really grow it on my neck. My face doesn't really progress at all, or at least hasn't in like 6+ months, other than two weird spots on my cheeks. I know it's early on, but is it odd that I only grow facial hair on my neck? I have next to nothing on my upper lip, nothing on my chin, sometimes I worry I may never get chin hair. It just gets thicker and thicker on my neck but nowhere else :(
I've gotten some dark hairs on my chin which only really appeared a few months ago, the odd transitional hair on my lip which has been seemingly unchanged from being 6 months ish on T and still just peach fuzz on my cheeks.
I think for some people it just takes longer. I never thought the chin hairs would happen at all as they took forever to appear. There's a trans you tuber called Jammiedodger who didn't grow facial hair until 3 years on T so I'm still holding out hope for more.
Mine started on my neck, too. Quite thick. Then it gradually began coming in thicker and fuller around the bottom of my jaw, chin and upper lip. I still have very patchy hair on my cheeks, and figure that I'll never really have much on them anyway. My sideburns are pretty much non-existent. 5+ years on T.
Mine first showed up on my upper lip and then started covering my neck and sideburns. Have you/can you ask any of the males you're related to about when/how their facial hair came in? That will give you a good idea of how it might be for you if you continue to grow it naturally.
After two months on T, I had the beginnings of a mustache and a teeny-tiny bit of a goatee on the underside of my chin. My sideburns grew faster than anything.
Six months in and I definitely have sideburns and a goatee, but my mustache still is barely there.
Now at ten months in, my sideburns and under-chin goatee are connected, but my mustache is still barely there.
No neck hair as of yet, but I'm waiting for it to start growing!

Under a year was mostly a couple chin hairs
1-2 years was my chin hair thickening and spreading and my sideburns extending downwards and eventually connecting. If I had a mustache I could have done a goatee, but I didn't have a mustache yet. It also extended down my neck
2-3 years (now) is mostly just my beard thickening up overall. I'm only just starting to get a mustache that I have to shave every week or two. I've got thick hair all along my jawline, but it doesn't go up on my cheeks. At this point it's actually reasonable to call it a 'beard.'
About 3 years onwards- I'm only a month past 3 years but the recent changes have primarily been that I have to shave my neck very frequently now. The hair for the past couple months has been creeping up my cheeks to fill in the whole beard area, but it's slow going.
I've got a beard journal in my signature where you can check out my progress! I just got top done on the 2nd so I've really gotta update it after I recover. I didn't start seeing huge leaps and bounds until about a year in.
Its all dependant on genetics in the end. My boyfriend had a full beard at 6 months, I'm at that stage and I'm nowhere near. Have you heard of minoxidil? It's meant for cis guys hair loss but I've heard amazing things about it working to thicken and encourage beard growth for trans guys. You have to use it consistently for months but I've seen even pre-T guys come out with dark hair from use. It'd be worth looking it up anyway.
Mine has decided to fill in in odd patches here and there at 12 months. I will try minoxidil.
