so im a year in. I stopped taking hrt as my body hair situation does not show many signs of regressing. I am literally covered in hair, ive seen an electrologist but the amount of time she says it will take just to do my face(3 years) is extremely daunting. Im sad, frustrated, and unable to go further into my transition until i no longer have body hair. Has anyone come from a similar place and continued transitioning? Does it get better? Help?

You don't give much info, but if you have dark hair and fair skin, laser can be quite effective at making a fast dent in things.
For body hair, there are the more traditional options such as waxing or epilating which should should both thin and soften body hair in time. I've been using a home IPL device to help with chest/arm hair.
Regarding HRT, that is certainly your own choice, but I doubt stopping will help at all.
There are plenty of cisgender women in the world with quite a bit of body hair. If you want a smooth body as many of us do, then it is an effort to maintain, that's an annoying fact.

Meagan has some great suggestions there for you. I would think that stopping HRT would actually make things worse but again that really depends on your situation. Have you spoken to your Dr about you concerns?
Laser if you have the right combination of skin and hair colour is probably the one to show faster results. 3 years does not sound unreasonable I started mine 2 years ago this January and go into my third year now.

I agree about laser. It's easy to do and often is effective. I had much hair at my legs, but after few photoepilator (similar to laser) seances 90% is off, remaining grows much slower.

I can tell my experience. I use home photoepilator (it's technology is similar to laser) Philips series Lumea. It seems to be cheaper than buying laser seances in beauty salon. Also, not everyone will entrust intimate areas to others...
It's the Philips Lumea that I use too. The bulbs do have a long life. Many here use the Tria device, I'm not sure if this is IPL or laser, someone else may be able to comment. X

It is because it has antiandrogen effect. It can make body hair lighter and grow slower, but in most cases this effect is slight.
I have the Tria Laser. I bought a used one on eBay for $230 (new, they run $650 or more). It works, but my body hair is a little light. So for me it hasn't been super effective.
HRT, at 10 months in, is starting to reduce body hair. Arms first, then chest, and now belly hair. What was thicker, course hair is now finer and a little more sparse. Much less noticeable. Not quite vellum fine, but close.

So i am fair with darker hair and the laser does help somewhat( i use the silkn flash and go but will look into the photoepillator now) but nothing is 100 percent effective. Im going to talk to my doc about just taking spiro for the time being because the effect of still having body hair while developing a more feminine body is just grotesque to me personally.
I appreciate everyone commenting it helps to know im not alone in this.

I'm a bit lucky in that I have fair skin and dark hair, none on my chest. There was a lot on my arms and legs but its easy enough to shave off. Facial hair is a different matter. I've picked up a second hand laser hair remover to see if I can make any difference without spending thousands on sessions (hopefully that can be avoided). Even if I could slow it down enough to get through a day or two without shaving I'd be happy enough.
