Title: 2 weeks hrt!
Post by: StealthStilettos on September 12, 2018, 11:30:38 AM
So I'm undergoing mtf hrt but after all my research I believe I'm more Non binary than pure trans female. I don't get hung up on pronouns, I still love my beard, actually just went clean shaven in like 12+ years, paying for it with ingrowns, and was the first time my kid and wife saw me clean shaven lol, but everyone close to me freaked out a bit, myself included lol.

So first point is not sure I wanna out myself to everyone, perhaps ever. My wife seems all gung ho to report our situation. Which is awesome cause she's encouraging, but scary too cause it's not all peaches and creams for anyone trans. And she fully outed me to our kid, which I didnt wanna hide persey, but trusting a 7 year old with that big of a secret is nerve wracking.

Second is my initial notcies, my sense of smell is on overdrive, wow, honestly not really liking this part lol. My left boob is sore, like I was punched there or something, and I overall feel lethargic, like my strength is being sapped.

Congratulations on your two week anniversary!  Some changes can be fairly rapid for some, I myself experienced much of what you have in the beginning.
It's wonderful that your wife supports you!  Though, I would be apprehensive about a 7 year old not blowing your cover.
I do understand the non-binary feeling.  I still struggle with my male side doing habits that are sometimes unavoidable, but not very ladylike. I've come to a better understanding of my needs and it is more of a fluid nature, but far more in the feminine spectrum.

Hugs and smiles from a California girl

I will also add that I shaved my mustache of nearly 45 years off.

Yeah, shaving was my first big step, although I'm not sure I realized it at the time. In my case it was 41 years and I have grown children who had never seen me without.

Congratulations on starting HRT. Enjoy the ride. I'm glad your spouse is supportive.

Heeeeh - I also sort of miss my camo-beard.  I had a lovely respectable "science beard" as a professor, which was perfect for stroking thoughtfully in class.  Now it's all clean-shaven, alas.  It's probably my one big regret from transitioning.. ah well, now I twirl my hair ends instead! :D

@StealthStilettos
Dear StealthStilettos:
You are soon approaching your TWO MONTH point of your exciting HRT journey.   For sure, you have probably already seen more changes particuarly in your nipples and breasts...  soreness, lumps (breast buds) forming under the nipples (and in my case my nipples were very erect and sensitive most of the time) ....  then at 3 months into  HRT most transitioners will start seeing things happening more significantly and at a quicker rate including possibly more changes in body hair growth, your own body and urine smell, changes in erections becoming less intense, libido, etc.

The transition journey is indeed exciting.  As has been stated over and over here on the Forums on various posts, HRT will work uniquely in your own unique body. What you read about other transitioning members experiences with HRT most likely will not be identical to your own experiences.

The adage that you have probably already heard regarding HRT and how it may work for various individuals  is "YMMV"  meaning that Your Mileage May Vary.
Some will experience more significant changes more quickly and then some will experience less significant changes more slowly....   it is all up to your genes and how your body reacts to the HRT.

PATIENCE is definitely required.... usually not much happens very quickly with HRT... but changes will happen.

Without a doubt this can be very "EXCITING and SCARY all at the same time."   One needs to hang on for an amazing ride.  Some of my best and most appreciated and dramatic body changes happened to me at about the 5 or 6 month point and through the start of year #2 of my HRT journey.
Even though I was able to very successfully pass before I went full-time... when I did go full-time at the 1 1/2 year mark I had been passing 100% of the time.  Of course that is just my own personal experience, I suppose I can thank my unique body makeup and my genes for all that.

You will not see dramatic changes on a daily or weekly basis.  I found that by taking my photo once a month that when compared with previous monthly photos, the changes were quite noticeable and very motivating.

Thank you for sharing your story with all of us.
Wishing you well, and I will be eagerly following your postings and transition progress as you continue toward your goal.
Hugs and hugs,
Danielle

This sounds a lot like me! When I was first questioning my gender and trying to make up words for it (to afraid and self conscious to go online and read up on it back then) the term nullgender rang so very true for me. Later on with experimentation I found that I liked a female presentation much more than I thought I would, more than I thought I could like a presentation even. So from that point I've started going with genderqueer because it's nice and vague so i dont have to worry about boxes :). I'll never be 100%, or even 90%, male or female.

I have a complicated relationship with my beard. I never had one when I was younger, it's hard for me to grow one on account of being a not very hairy human. When I finally did a few years ago, once it came in, it softened my jawline and rounded my face, which i liked from an "i seem more approachable now" standpoint. But personally i always prefer clean shaven.

Over the last few months I've trimmed it shorter and shorter, in a few weeks it'll be gone once again.

I'm happy to hear that you're accepting of how you like your body to be and not trying to force it into either box!
