Title: Do you remove hair from your forearms?
Post by: ChrissyRyan on October 29, 2018, 04:39:48 PM
I have been reading much about mtf hair removal but I have not seen much about removing hair from our forearms.  Do you?  If so, do you do this removal by shaving, epilation, electrolysis, laser, chemically, waxing, or another way?  Or do you bleach it, or do you just let it be?

While I have shaved a little on the bottom side (palm side) of the forearms, mostly because there were almost no hairs there, I have not chosen to remove the top side hair of the forearms.  That is because almost all of the hairs are blonde.  They also seem to be thinner hairs than in the past.  The arms are not as hairy either, but that could be an illusion if now almost all of the hairs are very light and thin.

I use IPL on the palm side of my forearms, but after I start hrt and its winter time I'm going to wax my full arms and really help thin it out. Hopefully between the hrt and destroying a few follicles it will look how I want it to. Less hairy than now but not completely bald.

I truly despise the hair on my arms but I am not sure what would work.  Unfortunately, it extends onto my hands and knuckles. I cannot see shaving or waxing as very feasible.  If I were awash in money I'd probably give laser a try even though the skin is pretty dark (there are a lot of black hairs).  If I could get rid of those, I'd probably be ok with bleaching the white hairs.

Everyone is different, and so are their HRT medicines and dosages, but my doctor told me that starting HRT should have a fairly good effect on arm hair thinning out, and hair on the hands being all but gone. I hope that is the case, because my hair is dark and thicker than I would wish. I hate it greatly!

Time will tell I suppose.

I have been on HRT for over 3 years and I have lost most of my body hair below the neck. I did have a few sessions of laser and electrolysis, but most of the hair loss below the neck was due to HRT. I have tried waxing and shaving my arms and legs a few times. With what little I have on my arms and legs, shaving once a month is sufficient for now. Later on, I may continue with the electrolysis.

Of course, everyone's results will be different, so we just do what we must.  :-\

I used to have some hairs on the fingers but I can no longer find any.  I didn't realize those hairs were gone.

I did read that bleached hair can result in a problem after new hair growth.  New hair growth may come in dark for you next to the skin and really stand out against the bleached hair.

My forearm hair was always fairly fine.  HRT made it even finer, less dense, and blonde.  It is not much more than peach fuzz now.  Occasionally, I'll drag a razor over it if I notice some hairs catching the light, but mostly, I ignore it.  Not worth the hassle.

I have shaved mine so long, I'm not sure what is there. Maybe I should let it grow, but it's too yucky!

I guess if you did shave your arms that should it be done frequently by most, as there could be stubble instead of smoothness.

Yet for me, with hair the arms feel smooth, but there is that hair.

The only place I have any arm hair is in my armpits and even that's hardly noticeable but I wax it with GiGi Brazilian bikini wax now and then

HRT will reduce arm hair significantly, but if your hair/skin color is suitable then laser (not IPL) should be very effective at removing body hair. If you have the money I'd suggest doing laser regardless. Shaving etc is not permanent and personally I think its a waste of time.

Like with all body hair, I have no hair on my forearms! Another advantage us intersex folks have!   >:-) >:-)

Hi Everyone,;
I have been on HRT (Estrogen & Prometrium) for a little over 5 years (4 on Estrogen only, and 1 year on the combined regime).
My hair on my forearms and underarms is now very thin and pretty sparse, but I have it waxed about once every 3 months and this generally keeps it away. I have also started laser on my armpits. This is really effective. I have also had laser on my décolleté, tummy and pubis and now have very few black hairs and whats left is very fine and downy with a wax once every 4-6 months.. I was lucky also that my beauty therapist she is Trans friendly) suggested a Brazilian which left me with just a small triangle only. It looks great.

Thank you ladies for sharing all of your experiences and perspectives.   :)

I am going to pay some close attention to lower arm hair to see what I notice on women in public.
You have to be pretty close to notice, for sure.

I shave mine about once a week now. Being on HRT has really slowed the growth and the hair is lighter and more fine. It also is one little thing that makes me feel more feminine. Body hair is a big dysphoria trigger for me.

My arm hair is very light and thin. So almost no stubbly feeling at all

I don't, I bleach it. It looks feminine that way, and most girls here have some sort of hair in their arms so it's fine.

HRT took care of it for me. Before that though, I used an epilator.

I shave my arms every other day, and every time I go out. HRT has almost completely stopped all hair growth on my chest but I can still see the hair on my arms. I can't imagine epilation on my arms because it takes both hands to avoid nasty pinches.

Another Klinefelter girl here!  I don't feel guilty!  I had to fight all my life to look as tough of a male as I could, now I want to take it easy and have a nice clean path to let the girl out , finally!

I don't even have hair under my arm pits, and my pubic hair (that little there is) has almost the perfect bikini look!

Warning!

A friend of mine is so hairy that he shaves "picture frames" on his arms so you can actually see his tattoos!

That's okay, I've known some cis women who were hairy as apes as well

I do shave my upper and lower body including my forearms. My body hair is now far fairer,  finer and sparser from 18 months HRT, but I prefer to feel smooth. [emoji3526]

I'm had my arms waxed a couple of times, and the hair does seem a bit sparser...in places. But overall it's so dark and prominent that I still feel gross. I can't afford to have it waxed as much as I would like/need.

I used to have to shave my forearms every single day. Since I've been on HRT though, it's gotten much finer, and I only have to shave them about once every four days.

No, I don't remove hair on my forearms. The only parts of my body (that show) that I shave are my chest and occasionally my face. Sometimes also lower legs during summer. I leave my armpits hairy but trim them occasionally. The carpet on my stomach I only shave if I'm... expecting company. I'm hairier than most other women, I suppose, cause of having taken testosterone for a long time. I had just stopped taking it when I started noticing back hair... glad I can prevent that! So I'm a little bit of a werewolf girl.

The hair on my forearms is not very extreme but it's clearly visible and dark brown, and it trails down on my hands and fingers too. I shaved them only once in my detransition but I didn't like it much. I realised I actually like my arms and hands hairy as they are, so I let it grow out again. It goes great with my wine red painted nails. My only issue with it is that it hurts when my little fur gets jammed in bracelets and pulled!

It reminds me of other races of which the women are much hairier than white Swedes like myself, and like that's normal for them. Perhaps I have normalised much of my own body hair for myself too. And like it's not so gendered for me now. I also think that body hair looks good on women, in general. So being hairless is not an ideal for me, and it doesn't really make me dysphoric either. Sometimes I feel a little self-conscious about it though. But then I'm afab so I know I can "lean back" on my bodily femaleness in general as a comfort, now in my transition 2.0. Had I been mtf I likely would have related to it differently.

Now that I've gone off testosterone I can expect that some if not much of my extra body hair will thin out again. But by how much and on which body parts, I've no way of knowing. I wouldn't mind it if my arm hair stays the same, and I do remember that they were quite hairy before I took testo as well.

I epilate my arms maybe once a month, it's very quick to do. I have a bit of hair growth on my arms, but it doesn't really bother me because it's sparse, thin and light enough for me. Still feels soft and smooth to touch too

Like everywhere else afraid if I shave arms NOTHING will grow back! How many women can say that?

Another epilator here. HRT helped- I used to have very dark hair everywhere, and it's gotten thinner and lighter after 3 years of HRT, but it's still enough to make me self-conscious if I don't do something about it. Epilating takes about as long as shaving, but it's not as messy, and I only have to do it twice a week or so as opposed to every day (If you've ever seen the Simpsons episode where Homer shaves his trademark stubble and it reappears instantly, that's my life right there  >:()

Hardly ever. HRT has thinned my arm hair significantly and I don't mind what's left 90% of the time. I'll shave if I need to go formal and sleeveless though.
