Title: Video Games You Regret Purchasing
Post by: King Malachite on July 29, 2013, 07:48:53 PM
If you have been a gamer long enough, there's a good chance that you've purchased a game and just regretted spending money on it.  Lets discuss these experiences.

I have brought a lot of games that I regret purchasing, like many Gameboy Advance games (Monopoly and the Final Fight One comes to mind.).  I purchased Red Dead Redemption and regretted it.  I purchased Saints Row: The Third and regretted buying that and the strategy guide horribly.  It was a kick in the gut when they game out with the "Full Package" Edition so soon.

My latest regret is buying Fight Night Round 3 for $2.69.  I played that game for less than 5 minutes today and totally hated it.  I also brought Red Faction Armageddon today for $4.75 but I'm scared to play it in fear I'll hate it lol.

What are some of the games you regret buying, especially at full price?

How can you regret Red Dead Redemption? That was brilliant.

Far cry 3. Couldn't get into it.

I figured I'd get asked that lol.  I'm sure the game was great but I never got around to playing it so I didn't regret buying that because of story mode.

Far Cry 3-meh while it wasn't neccessarily a bad game, I found it to be overhyped and a let down....borderline false advertising.  PS3 graphics were crappy and the voice acting for Jason just horrible since they switched it at the last minute.  I wish I would have waited so I could have gotten it for 20 bucks now.

I am not much of a gamer (do enjoy playing casually), but I bought Skyrim (computer version) for someone, found out he already had it, and I just never returned it, I figured I'd keep it and maybe I'd play it eventually since I hear it's a good game. I haven't even opened the package and still have the receipt, but I regret buying and not returning it because I know I'll never have time to actually play it.

Fricken all the Assassin's Creed games that I bought and both of the Prototype games. They're fun but not one of them is worth buying, only renting.

Sims 3 for Xbox, I was just stupid with that one since the PC version is just superior in every way.

Oblivion for Xbox. Should have gotten the PC version so I could mod it. The characters are so ugly.

Umm Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. Pretty meh when it's not a platform game like it's predecessors. (though I absolutely loove the other two in the series)

Velvet Assassin. Again, should have rented it. And also it's kinda crappy.

Dead Rising 2: Case West. Idk what I was thinking it's exactly the same as Dead Rising 2. -.-"

Super Mario Galaxy I don't really like it.

Lego Harry Potter, it's funny and cute but the gameplay is soooo boring.

Here is my Skyrim story. I played it, found I didn't like it and then left it on my shelf for 6 months. Then one day I was bored and decided to give it another chance and I looooved the crap out of it. It would've been on the list above otherwise. >.<

I did the same thing with Skyrim. Got it for PS3 thinking it would be a fun living room game. Realized I hated the controls and missed my keyboard/mouse combo too much. Just bought the PC version. Don't care if I have to replay a whole bunch of it, the gameplay and visuals are worth the repeat.

I got Skyrim for Xbox and I'm sure it would be funner on PC but I just can't afford those upgrades. >.< But I think it's fun just the same.

But right now I've gotten more into Morrowind for PC and that game is soooooooooo fun when you're using an overload of mods like I am. >.<

I bought a game for my Kinect called Rise of Nightmares, but I found it too finicky and frustrating to play. I ended up selling my Kinect but I still have the game.

I regret buying the game, but I regret selling the Kinect. Lmao.

I've had more fun programming with the Kinect than playing games with it.

Well, I regret buying the TurboGrafx-16.  Game Gear too.  As for games...

Beautiful Katamari for the XBox 360.  I L-O-V-E the Katamari games, but it made me so sick!  So bright and the movement just made me feel like I was going to throw up.

Street Fighter X Tekken on the PS3.  I'm no good with Street Fighter controls.

Alex Kidd and The Lost Stars on the Sega Master System.  How did they follow up Alex Kidd in Miracle World with that?

Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense on the Dreamcast.  Again, made me sick.

King of Monsters on the Virtual Console for the Wii.  The Neo-Geo was a thing of legend to me as a kid.  Too bad I found the game lackluster.

Paper Mario Sticker Star on the 3DS.  I was unhappy with the combat.  Loved the Paper Mario on the Wii though.

I didn't care for Pokemon Black on the DS.  Doubt I would have found White much more satisfactory.

Retro City Rampage on the Vita.  I didn't find it funny or fun.

I regret paying for Far Cry 2 and Fable 2. Great games, but i only played through them once. That's all i can think of at the moment.

I regret selling a handful of games, my Pokemon collection and Oblivion come to mind.

Mindjack.

Wish I'd watched Angry Joe's review (http://angryjoeshow.com/2011/01/mindjack-angry-review/) of it before shelling out £30 for the pile of fetid faeces. It was also the game which finally stopped me seeing Square-Enix on the cover and thinking it was going to be good. Which is what I'd done up till that point, and on the whole not been disappointed.

Proof, if proof were needed, that you can't polish a turd. Despite their best efforts.

Add Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 to the list.  I brought it due to the whole hype and peer pressure.  I should have waited for the price drop would would have included a map pack.

I'm not making the same mistake with Call of Duty: Ghosts

I don't play all that many games anymore; but I love Civilization 3 so a couple of months ago I bought a bundle on Steam of Civ4 (and it's expansions), Civ5 (I think it had one expansion), and Xcom something or other.

I think I've spent 30 minute total between the 3 of them and have went back to Civ3 if I'm playing on the computer. :(

I actually bought the expensive collector's edition when it originally came out; but never got around to installing/playing it.  Now, I guess it's a "learning curve" thing, I know how Civ3 plays/works and I guess I got spoiled to that.  I'll have to give it another shot I suppose.

Civ 3 is fantastic. I played it loads before I got 4, but many people find 4 to be much, much better. You just need to learn the ropes and it's fantastic.

Every wargame for computer with the exception of Steel Panthers (1995) and the more recent Battle Academy (from Slitherine).
Although if I had never downloaded the free Steel Panthers World at War file, I would never have started buying computer wargames in the first place eh.

Every single computer game I have ever bought that was not a wargame, excluding Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and Civilization (I like V the most of any versions). I especially have hated myself for buying Guild Wars 2 because while it is a good game in and of itself, I am not an MMO gamer. Where the F was my head when I bought it?

I have bought a few Nintendo DS games I really like. I wish I had not gone the route of getting a flashcart like my buddy suggested. Being given access to 6000 games is a bad idea trust me on this one :)

Games are like drugs.

I think i'll be adding to this topic quite a bit lol

COD games, after a couple of years of suffering the constant spawn, die, spawn, die routine of COD I can't stand playing the game competitively, I've now gotten bored with the single player, I was given COD black ops 2 many months ago & still can't be bothered to finish the story.

Earth Defence Force 2017, I played EDF Insect Armageddon & loved it so I bought 2017 & it's a poorly polished turd with controls from the 90's!!

Skyrim, I couldn't stand this game & I don't know why, i've spent hundreds of hours on Dragon's Dogma but Skyrim barely lasted an hour in my Xbox

I regret purchasing Final Fantasy VII, it ate up over 200 hrs of my life  ::)

I also regret purchasing Devil May Cry 3 which has consumed at least 400 hrs of my life, I can only guess at the true figure as every time the clock maxed out at 99hrs 99min I would start a new save file.

On the PS2 I wiped my save every time the game clock maxed out & then I had to level everything up again, I did this at least 3 times that I remember. Then I bought the HD compilation on Xbox & have started that cycle again.

To go back to the intention of the original post I regret purchasing Lair on the PS3, I love dragons & had high hopes for this game but it turned out to be a highly polished turd.

I seriously regret buying War of the Worlds from Xbox arcade.
I'm obsessed with WotW, I read the book several times a year, I watch the films frequently, I saw WotW the musical live on stage at Cardiff & watch the DVD every couple of weeks.

The game is voiced by Patrick Stewart & he narrates brilliantly unfortunately you need to memorize every section & in some cases you need to be pixel perfect in your timing & checkpoints are too far apart, if you mess up you die & have to go back & listen to Patricks narration over & over again until you become sick of the sound of his voice! Any game that can make you hate hearing Patricks voice has seriously screwed up!!
After attempting the same section for the umpteenth time you start to feel like this  :icon_userfriendly:

I regret ever paying for World of Warcraft.

I regret ever paying for DC Universe Online. I foolishly bought a lifetime subscription when the game came out so I feel obligated to play it sometimes.

I regret ever paying for Star Wars: The Old Republic, it was fun and it's Star Wars but it gets old/repetitive fast.

I regret buying Reus during the last Steam sale, though I do enjoy causing earthquakes in villages.  >:-)

Silpheed: The Lost Planet
This game just feels too generic.  There is enough inspiration in the game to make it playable, but not enough to make it worthwhile.  Playing this game just makes me want to play better shooters (Gradius V)

Shining Force Neo
Fooled by the fact that it had "Shining Force" in the title, I bought this game expecting it to be engaging.  What I got was a classic Shining Force story buried under some of the most awful gameplay I've ever seen in an ARPG.  I didn't even WANT to give this game a fair chance, because the controls and skill system just felt so awkward.  Just like the Silpheed game, I was basically done with this game after the first level or two.

Metroid Prime
I got this game mostly so I could have Gamecube games other than Smash Brothers.  But, I really didn't like the transition of Metroid into 3D.  The controls felt too stiff to me.  It's just not the same as the old games.  I shelved this game because I didn't really feel like playing a 3D exploration game.  I have Tomb Raider for that...

Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance
Another game that I got so I could have a Gamecube game other than Smash Brothers.  I never really ended up playing this game because it seemed pretty complicated, and I really didn't want to learn the in's and out's of another strategy game.  I've heard that the Fire Emblem series is pretty good.  But, it's really hard for me to play any turn-based strategy game without it immediately wanting to make me play Final Fantasy Tactics.  It's also really hard for me to play any real-time strategy game without it making me want to play Earth2150.  I basically stopped buying strategy games for that reason.  As soon as I got past the exposition and I got into the actual gameplay, my first thought was that I want to play Final Fantasy Tactics.  As it turns out, it's pretty hard to get me to play any turn-based strategy games without me immediately wanting to play Final Fantasy Tactics or Disgaea.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi
It's just... ugh. At first the idea of a 3D fighting game seemed cool with completely destructible environments and all but it just doesn't work.
And it's idiotic to make each form an individual playable character. Oh yeah, and the whole character development was horrible.
The only good thing was the original Japanese voices option and it was also kinda nice to see even the bit more rarely seen characters, too.

The things you buy when you're in a fandom...

i hope you're joking. If not, you missed out on one of the greatest games ever!

The new Tomb Raider.  Though heartless, it was a solid, enjoyable product -- just nowhere near 45 dollars worth of it.

How much would you say it's worth?  I watched the entire wlakthrough of that and I honestly don't think it's worth $45 either.  I'm thinking more $15-$20.

Yeah, that's a pretty fair price range.  It's a fun little story to spend 12 hours on, but it has absolutely no replay value.  Unless you're OCD about collecting random trinkets.

You missed out on a really great game. I recommend picking up the Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii, it fixed the stiffness in the original controls, and pumped up the graphics a bit.

I think that may just be a case of first memory nostalgia. Playing Final Fantasy Tactics makes me want to play Fire Emblem, and playing RTS games makes me want to play Age of Empires.

Anyways, I regret purchasing Metroid: Other M and Duke Nukem Forever. They sold them with nostalgia, but it was ALL LIES. BLATANT, DAMNABLE LIES.

Hmmm I don't recall spending money on a game I regretted afterwords. I don't spend my money on games unless I know I already like it. However a game, well whole series of games I'm glad I didn't buy is the CoD games... Lets face it people buy fps's now these days for the multiplayer. After playing a most pf the CoD's friend have had I have found that all they really do is recycles old maps and throw in maybe one new one and charge $60 for it each time. Plus I find the perk system total bs.... It just makes the hard to kill even harder to kill. That just seems unfair.

this is hard because most games i regret are just so bland i can never remember them after the fact. but one does stand out in particular...

the original pokémon ranger game. I figured, "oh hey here's some gimmicky sidegame and i can get a manaphy cool" but no. the beginning was easy but boring, the very end probably would have been interesting in its difficulty, had it not been ruined for me by the SUDDEN out of nowhere spike in difficulty leading to the hardest capture in the game: that deity-forsaken STEELIX. I'm usually a really chill lady so I kind of scared my boyfriend with the sheer rage which resulted from that particular fight.

but i caught it. oh yes. i caught it. and after that fecal hurricane, the rest of the game was comparatively easy.

I EARNED that manaphy and it is being passed along to new games for as long as that capability exists. it is MINE.

I haven't played any of the other ranger games, although I've heard the controls and difficulty are much better later on in the series. i just can't get the taste of the first one out. I don't think i've been anywhere near that angry at a game before or since. I'm a little bitter about it.

Sims 3 and basically anything EA Games. There was a period of over six months that it was completely unplayable. Why? Patching. They always rush the release (word also has it they've taken to rotating out development teams which creates a plethora of problems by itself right there) and so it is bugged to absolute hell and then they turn around and drag their feet for months (or, more often now, never) getting around to fixing the problems. And then far too often, what they fix results in new problems and the cycle repeats itself. I'll never touch an EA Game title again. I never get what I think I'm paying for. I haven't touched Sims 3 in three years (only really liked building the houses though so not a great loss. Sims 2 is better for that actually).

Unfortunately this is becoming true of Bethesda Games as well. I love Skyrim but I shouldn't have to resort to the Console Command (PC only) to skip broken quests that have been that way since version 1.0 (yup, even patched to 1.9.32.0.8 and even though its claimed they're fixed, they aren't). They announced they've abandoned it and true to their word they did and they've left too many loose ends in the wake of that decision (particularly considering how much it cost). I still have to skip everything (in the main quest no less) involving Esbern or that damned Vaermia's Torpor that completely makes saving impossible (I mean HOW do you overlook that?). So I also regret, to a degree, Skyrim even though it's my favorite second to Oblivion... third to Fallout 3.

So really, it's the lousy or non-existent technical support post release that ruins games for me in one way or another. I suppose it could be worse. I could be a powerless console platform player without even option to "cheat" a fix. :P

Oh you know what, I just remembered Fallout: New Vegas. That one wouldn't even install. Haven't been bothered enough to try 'tweaking' it too either.

Dead Space 2 and Uncharted 3.

I don't even play my PS3 anymore since I bought Minecraft. It's the only game I've been playing. Dead Space was cool but hard to get used to the controls, and Uncharted... I LOVE the Uncharted series. But I just don't have the time to get into the story. Maybe one day I wont regret buying it. I wish I could trade Dead Space to someone for Fallout: New Vegas or Oblivion but I don't know anybody around here since I recently moved. Well... My cousins are gamers actually, but I think they have XBOX 360's.

The thing about Bethesda is, I'm starting to think, that they know people will mod their PC versions of the games and fix most of what's wrong with them. Like the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19//?). That fixes many of the issues that Bethesda haven't.

I wouldn't advise getting them on consoles since you pretty much have to get what you're given and like it.

Yup, I noticed that a while ago and have been considering it. It sure would be nice to not have to miss out on the stuff I've been having to skip.

Yeah, but then the trouble is with the PC's... they're pushing the envelope further than they should and too rapidly. It's going to be impossible to keep up with the increasing hardware demands soon if they don't take a step back and pace it out a little. I mean we're far from the days of a $500 rig handling the latest stuff. Now its like $1,500 or more in a rig starting out. It's sick. And those are just the self-build estimates. :icon_blah:

Often more than that. My laptop is a pure, custom-built gaming rig and cost probably double that. 32 gig ram, 2 Nvidia GTX 680 graphics cards running in SLI, i7 processor overclocked to 3.6 gHz, 2 SSD drives totalling about a terabyte... and most games it doesn't even twitch while running. But I would say a lot of games can be run on a decent spec PC well enough and my laptop is largely overkill.

I guess it's give and take. The PC gaming scene can often be more robust though. Personally, my Bethesda games are probably 3-4 times larger in terms of content and probably a hundred times better in terms of graphics, just through mods that you don't have to pay for and can add amazing longetivity to games. There are a few DLC expansion sized mods for Skyrim alone, like Falskaar, which add a whole lot to the experience for no cost. With more coming out all the time.

Take a look at this. This is the sort of thing which is possible on a mid to high end PC:

^ Wow. My T6600/HD 4570/4GB DDR2 has absolutely nothing on that. I'm thankful I can play Skyrim at all on it (but have to give it its cool off often enough or I'll risk melting something. I'm impressed its held out this long being a OEM and notebook). Served me well so far but I can definitely sense its time to retire it to the new backup and then give the Dell Dimension 3000 a honorable discharge.

My plan is to go at least AMD FX-8320, EVGA GTX650Ti Boost 2GB GDDR5, 8-16GB DDR3 and ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 plus the rest (especially including a Noctua NH-D14 as cooling has been the major problem on all my systems here where it can get up to 112F ambient and higher) but that precise build would be about $900-1,200 depending on where the parts jump or fall and before taxes & S/H. Still far too steep for me. Been wanting a self-built since 2006 just never could really afford it yet. Someday soon I hope and before the socket types changes and the price racketing starts all over again lmfao. I will never go OEM or mobile again personally. Desktops are still king unless the mobiles are custom (you certainly do have a beauty there). And in the same vein, there's no way I'll ever be able to afford or justify an Intel again. These here will be my last until they stop inhaling the wacky backy. $300+ for mid-range chips now... nope, can't go there. AMD is juuuuuuuuuust fine by me (that FX really isn't that much worse in many ways, would still be a massive improvement from what I'm on and give me a good amount of time before upgrades which is what I planned the build around for a budget).

Magnus, I hope you do manage to get something you're happy with. To be frank, I was a console gamer most of my gaming life, but after seeing some of the things you can get to expand your games on a PC, it's a whole new world. I actually spend more time modding the games than playing them, lol.

I feel it depends on the game. Some games I just have little or no interest in modding. My computer isn't especially powerful even though I've put in a few upgrades and I don't have that weird box thing that lets you put your PC on a TV screen, so it's nice for me to just buy the console version and sit back with it.

And some games should never be played without tons of mods. o.O Like Morrowind. ^.^

BIOSHOCK and FALLOUT: NEW VEGAS!

Both scare the bejeezus outta me! In the former, it's so atmospherically creepy, I can't play it alone or even with someone else in the room. The latter, well, I keep getting eaten by mutated rats near the beginning of the game. And that freaks me out so much I can't play anymore.

I'm much more of a Lego-fill in the blank sort of guy. And Little Big Planet. And games built around a mystery, like a whodunit. For serious. Can't deal with scary, violent games. They stress me out too much and my nerves can't take it. They're shot . Like I've got Vietnam-style PTSD . . . instead of just whatever kind of PTSD I've got.

They never fixed the broken stuff because someone released an unofficial patch for it. They just said, "Eh, frell it" and went on. So there are fixes, just not ones from Bethesda. It's stupid, but there you go.

Don't even get me started on EA. They've ruined every franchise they've ever gotten ahold of.

The game I most regret buying was Halo 2. Horrible, horrible game. They threw good balance and gameplay mechanics out the window in favor of nonsensical fluff like dual wielding. I also hated the online mode and how you couldn't just customize the settings for a match and host it, but rather had to play the same old boring games modes over and over. Plus the online community was enough to make anyone lose faith in humanity. This may surprise you to know, but early on in the life of Xbox Live, the online community was composed mainly of intelligent reasonable people. Halo 2 was the beginning of the end for that. But that's why I never play shooters on consoles anymore (or at all really, with a few exceptions).

You just said you regretted purchasing two of my favorite games of all time. :o I'll give you that FF7 had an open ended ending, but that can be a good thing sometimes. Sometimes the story is just over before you want it to be, because there's nothing left to tell. Look at what happened when they tried to create an epilogue with Advent Children. It wasn't horrible, but it didn't add anything meaningful to what was already there. I'll also give you that PSO is nothing more than an anime skinned Diablo clone, but I fail to see why anyone would consider that to be a problem. ;) Of course, I'm still waiting for a proper Phantasy Star V, but given this is Sega we're talking about, I doubt it will happen any time while I'm still alive.

My problems with FF7 mostly stem from one key issue. THE single biggest part of the story surrounded Holy, and what would happen when it was unleashed. Would the living essence of the planet accept humanity despite their flaws or wipe them out of existence for literally burning its soul as fuel? After bringing up this issue, and dragging it along for 2 of the 3 disks of story, they refused to answer it at all.

PSO was a huge letdown after the masterpiece that was PSIV. I wish I had known at the time that the PS team had been set on Skies of Arcadia and PSO had been handed off to Sonic Team.

I guess in terms of Final Fantasy, the ones I regretted buying were IX and XII. Hated them both.

IX was, to my tastes, too limiting and way too stylised. I actually want to be able to select a party based on characters I like, not based on the fact that I have to choose certain ones if I want to be able to do certain things. And I didn't like the fact they named the main character after a French football player.

XII was like wallpaper paste. I found it thoroughly boring. Too boring to even be motivated to finish it. And this from the person who finished X-2 twice just to get 100% completion so I could see the epic ending which tied that and X together.

Actually, XIII wasn't that great, either. That was a game which shows what happens when you give the visuals department 99% of the budget and say to them "Y'know how we're good at cut scenes? Well... make a game out of that." Great potential... ruined.

But wasn't that the point? Instead of giving you the answer to what would happen after Holy was used, they left it up to your imagination. The conclusion you should come to is the fate you feel like humanity deserved based on the events that had transpired. You can say it would have been better if they'd just told you what had happened, but I don't think that's really true. If they just tell you it just becomes nothing more than a fact, plain for the world to see. But by leaving you with a sense of mystery instead, they created a game people still talk about decades after it was released.

I didn't actually have the chance to play PSIV until after I played PSO, so I wasn't a victim of that particular let down. But I will admit, if I had been expecting PSO to be PSVI, I might have been disappointed too. Then again, Skies of Arcadia was so good that I don't see how anyone could ask for a better follow up to PSIV, even if it wasn't the sequel people had wanted. The world of video games has too many franchises with endless sequels already.

I would have to disagree. I think the game's popularity had more to do with removing itself from the Fantasy genre and dropping most of the fantasy gaming tropes to cater to a lower common denominator. FF6 is my personal favorite, and it's ending included comprehensive epilogues for every character, including all the secret ones.

I regret buying GTA: Liberty City Stories.  At the end of the game I was like "huh?"  That was a piece of crap.  Even more crappy was GTA 3 where I remember trying to save up $5 from scratch to get that game.  I couldn't even finish it because it was so horrible.  What a waste.

Because, with few exceptions, the cast of FF7 are two dimensional with little to no character growth. Most of them recieve a token segment about "who they are" then are promptly ignored for the rest of the game.

FF6 stands in contrast to that, where almost every character, including the secret optional ones, undergoes massive personal development throughout the story. With the emphasis being on the personal trials of each character instead of revolving around one 'party leader' type.

It's completely possible to enjoy both styles, but I also feel that FF7 was very poorly executed, raising major plot points then constantly discarding them with no resolution and using a main character more unlikable to me than any other besides Squall.

I think Square Enix is just trying to make their games worse and worse so that people stop asking for new ones and they can just make movies like they CLEARLY want.

I might have somehow racked up a 300+ hour save file on FFX. *shifty look*

It's my third favourite of the franchise (My favourite being VIII and then VII closely behind it).

X-2 was... I don't know. I liked some of it. I think I liked it more for being a direct sequel to X though, rather than a game in and of itself. And the 100% completion ending in it more than made up for the... unsatisfactory ending in X. It made both games played as a whole a far more satisfying experience. I did love the relationship between Yuna and Lenne in X-2. And that whole sad story of Lenne and Shuyin. I felt it was a very emotionally driven game once you got into it (or allowed yourself to be absorbed into it). One of my friends remarked that X-2 was too much of a "girly" game. But I thought that was one of its strengths.

And the 1000 words song is... well it still gives me goosebumps.

I'll give you that. I liked X-2 better than X, but that's not saying much. I liked The Bouncer better than FFX. "1000 Words" was a magnificent song, and it tells the tragic story of Lenne and Shuyin, and Shuyin's mournful existence without her, in about four minutes. Unlike some other games I could mention...

For me, FFX fails on a story level. I can forgive a lot in a game if the story is good, and the story in X is... not good. It's got the makings of a good story, but it's buried beneath the usual Square Enix practice of "keep piling crap on until we get to four disks". Maybe it's shallow, but I just can't stand Tidus. Especially his constant whining of "This is my story!". No, verszlacha, it's not. It's clearly Yuna's story, we somehow just got caught up following you. I'd much rather be following Auron around, he's got a personal connection to Jecht too, and he's not a complete wimp. And who the hell wears pants with one leg longer than the other anyway!?

LOVED both those games o.O Although Borderlands was totally rubbish unless played with a friend.

Okay, I was trying to avoid doing this to spare everyone a TL;DR post, but here goes.

Dead Space-
We're told that the main weapon for the game is actually a mining cutter that Isaac is simply using as a weapon in desperation.  How on earth would a mining cutter that only fires in pistol-like blasts, and can only hold power for 10 such shots(no sustained beams) ever be practical as a tool?

The Ripper is probably the most useful weapon in the game, but it has no point in existing in this universe.  It holds a whirling blade on the end of a tractor beam for somewhere around 15 seconds before said blade is destroyed, it's worthless as a tool and as a weapon save against necromorphs, which nobody knows exist yet.

The story can't keep its continuity straight between mediums, they released an animated movie just prior to launch as a kind of 'here's the back story, GET READY!' thingy.  In this story the Marker has a 'Dead Space' around it that the Necromorphs can not penetrate, IE, they can't get close to it.  This was promptly retconned the instant the game launched the following week.

During Isaac's traversing of the ship you constantly see Necromorphs dash across intersecting corridors only to attack from behind, investigating/getting wise to this tactic reveals two huge gameplay flaws.  First, the Necromorphs are appearantly just standing in small alcoves doing absolutely nothing, just waiting for Isaac to approach so they can do exactly this.  That puts them more in the mindset of snickering 10 year olds than horrific monstrosities.  Second, if you happen to notice the pattern, and turn around BEFORE they pull the surprise attack, you'll discover that they pop out of thin air.  They're not dropping from air vents, tearing through bulkheads, or anything of that nature, they literally just pop into existance behind you because the programmers were too lazy.

On that note, the initial chase sequence at the beginning of the game is completely scripted in such a way that it doesn't know what to do if you don't follow the script.  IE, if you do NOT immediately hammer the elevator button to escape your pursuer will simply stand there staring at you.  You can almost hear him saying "Come on dude, you're making me look bad!"

Finally, the big reveal at the end makes no goddamn sense.  *SPOILERSPOILERSPOILER* We discover that Isaac's wife has been dead the entire time, and he's been hallucinating her throughout the game's story.  Okay.......then who exactly was hacking computers and opening doors for me?  Who was I defending from hordes of Necromorphs while they performed these tasks?  Because "Nobody" just doesn't work.  The Necromorphs WERE attacking SOMEONE.  I'm told that this HUGE FREAKING PLOT HOLE gets resolved in one of the sequels, well tough, that's still HORRIBLE story design.  If I made a movie or a book with a key plot point that was this bad and said "Nono, wait a few years for the sequel and it will totally make sense!" people would laugh me out of the arena, and probably throw things.

Borderlands- I did indeed play single player, which is probably part of my problem, but I'm not big on the whole multiplayer thing except in certain situations.  I'm also not much of an FPS fan, but I'd been told this was more of an RPG, so I gave it a shot.

The respawn rate is absurd.  I like to take my time, and work through a dungeon in a methodical kind of way, making sure I take down every bad guy in my path and don't miss hidden loot.  Because of this I frequently discovered the enemies respawning behind me, smashing me in a pincer movement of reincarnation and forcing me to start the whole area over.

NPCs are almost NEVER interactive.  You get all your quest dialogue, with VERY few exceptions, through the bounty board.  Save ANGEL and a few early quests, that's pretty much it.  When I finally met several of the NPCs I'd been dealing with face to face they just stared at me and refused to ever talk until I went back to the bounty board.

Lilith's final Elemental power causes lots of suicide deaths.  I'll freely admit that this one is probably going to be an "Only people who played the character I did, and specced the way I did, ever had this issue"  But it was really aggrivating.  Lilith's ultimate Elemental power is Phoenix, which makes her burst into flames every time she makes a kill, causing fire damage to everyone in her vicinity for a few seconds.  This is pretty awesome given all the other powers that also proc in the same manner.  The problem is that the icon letting you know it has activated vanishes almost immediately, leaving you with no way to tell that it's still up.  Now, how many of you remember just HOW MANY of those explodey barrels were littered pretty much EVERYWHERE in every single dungeon area?  No seriously, it's absolutely ridiculous in the first game.  The first 5-10 times this killed me I had no idea what was happening.  I had killed all the enemies, I was starting to walk towards the next group, but they hadn't seen me yet, suddenly I'm dead.  In order to NOT make this a magical form of suicide, you need to stay in a very tight area, and sit there until you are absolutely sure the aura is gone before moving into the next open area.  Kind of ridiculous IMO.

Games i regret purchasing?

Dreamcast: Chronicles of Pern Dragon Riders. I admit I bought it because the art work on the cover was beautiful and I thought I was really going to ride of dragons...No...It's a cutscene and although epic and majestic wasn't what I was a expecting. Also the game was flawed day one. It took 2-6 tries to get the disc to load (it wasn't the dreamcast as every other game played splendidly). Once the system heated up, or whatever I was doing at that tender young age, the game loaded and you will discover it's rushed. Alot of voice were redubbed badly and the game would freeze if it got too excited or you move awkwardly. I enjoyed the game but...no I still regret buying it

N64: bought WCW Mayhem after remembering how cool it was when I was a kid....Big mistake The animations for the intros were good but I failed to remember the bad wrestling machincs. Even thought I got it cheap yeaa. I wish I hadn't bought it..

Lastly

PS3: Regret buying COD: MW2. It brought out a very old and unwanted competitive side within me and I rage quick quite alot on the campaign. I also don't like certain graphics scenes I had to grit through to finish the game. Eventually I had a major rage quit and broke the disc and chucked it and all its' contents in the bin. I regret the money and the time I wasted on that game.

I have found that there aren't too many games I regret buying, I think I have regreted many more book purchases than games, and it is mainly because in general Video games have such great reviews. What I mean by this is with things like metacritic, youtube, and friends who buy the games it is reasonably reliable for me to know enough about a game to know if I would enjoy it or not (whereas with books the reviews seem pretty inconsistant, and lots of times reading the back of the book or rather the Amazon description is all you have).

That isn't to say I never regretted buying any. I sorta regretted buying Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Hearthfire, mainly due to the fact that it was basically a package of things that mods already did, and jumping thru the hoops to build your house was a bit of a needless grind of gathering materials, Dawnguard was awesome, but I am indifferent to Dragonborn, even though i did pay for it.

Whatever games I buy, I get very cheaply, lots of games from 2010-2011 are $5-$10 on steam sales and will run at max settings on my cheap hardware (Asus G75vx, and A10/R7 260x powered desktop). I would never spend much on games mainly due to needing money for transition.

I only really have played ps3, but I have a long list
I regret buying
Saints row the third because the graphics sucked and I was not drawn to the story at all
Uncharted 3  the multiplayer is horrible and the story was nothing compared to Uncharted 2 (and I shamefully payed for the season pass and I am also ridiculously good at the Multiplayer),
Beyond two Souls because the story wasn't worthwhile. I didn't feel drawn to it as much as I am a sucker for female protagonists
Every Call of Duty game that I have owned. The story is horrible and I have a bad internet connection so I don't really get to enjoy the multiplayer.
That's all that I can think about right now.

Saints Row: The Third was complete trash and I regret spending $60 on it.  I spent about $30 for the strategy guide and it's nothing more than junk now.  Absolute WASTE ugh!  I would have had mre fun playing frisbee with the game.

Uncharted 3 was highly overrated and wasn't as good as Uncharted 2 (but better than Uncharted 1).  Uncharted 3 I felt was just rushed with some fancy action and graphics.  At the end of the game I had more questions than answers.  The whole game only had one "in the zone" moment and that was the horse riding action.

I did play it for a while when I had the game and then I playedthe F2P version after I traded it in.  I admit it was a little bit fun but the extremely long waiting loading times made me just delete it.  Uncharted 3: Lies and Deception is certainly a more appropriate name for then game. I hope the next Uncharted is better (and that it comes for the PS3).

I've had far too many to mention, normally budget titles. However, a few games that do spring to mind (Older titles though, haven't bought many games lately):
Sonic 2006 (That game pretty much killed a lot of childhood memories for me, and I think I barely touched any of the classic Sonic games after that!)
Hitman Absolution (Regretted it as soon as the install took hours, enjoyed the game for a few levels, and then just got...meh)
Neverwinter Nights 2 (Loved the first one, and the Baldur's Gate games, but this one was just tedious, and I had to buy a new computer just to play it, and just got left feeling disappointed!)
Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness (This was another one that struck me as a huuuuge disappointment, expected an awesome new Tomb Raider game for the first PS2 game, and instead found a buggy unfinished mess with awful story and cut content)
SimCity (That newer one. It's just not the Sim City I know and love, and the bugs made it unplayable)

The only reason I regret BL2 is the nature of it. Playing the first one the idea felt new and fresh. The second one really didn't feel like anything more than an expansion to me. Also to many modded weapons and people who would just mod it to the point of not being fun.

Brink I got when it came out. Day one it was so bugged. You couldn't find matches and when you did it was to laggy to even play. The idea behind the game was amazing. Felt like it should be a pc game and yet it got pretty big console push.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. It was fun for a little bit but got boring soon. I've stopped buying Call of Duty games now because they're just getting too repetitive and get old quickly. The only CoD game I play now is CoD 4 which is my favorite in the franchise.

$80!? I got the game for free as part of the Nvidia game package (along with Splinter Cell Blacklist)... I run AMD cards and my roommate buys Nvidia cards (we have our own private Nvidia/AMD, Intel/AMD war) so when he gets extras of those games he gives them to me, and when I get extras of AMD games I give them to him. Kinda insane to think that a $300 Video card can come with $150 worth of games.

Dishonored was painfully short, worth getting but at a discount, half off price, not full price.

Oh, I have a AMD Radeon in my desktop (So I got the AMD pack), but my roommate got 2 GTX 770s (MSI Gaming Edition which are $339 at Newegg). I do however have a Nvidia GTX 660m in my Laptop, (Asus g75vw) but only because I got a good deal used.

What I really want to get is an AMD Radeon R9 270x MSI Gaming edition (The entire house is incredibly pro MSI) which is $329 right now. All of us shop at Micro Center as our brick and mortar store, and New Egg when Micro Center is out of stock or doesn't carry that part (Micro Center sells some stuff way cheaper than Newegg).

I feel sorry for those in the UK as frequently they get pricing that makes £ = $ and that makes zero sense with the exchange rate.

Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness (This was another one that struck me as a huuuuge disappointment, expected an awesome new Tomb Raider game for the first PS2 game, and instead found a buggy unfinished mess with awful story and cut content)

This.

Saddest part, was the trilogy idea they talked about in the making of, was actually interesting and I was excited for.  It's a huge shame they completely ruined the game and did almost nothing to introduce the larger story idea in the game itself.

Oh, lordy. Me, too between the Steam sales and the Humble Bundles. I usually buy the Humble Bundles for one or two games, and usually end up with a ton of random crap. For me, the most memorable letdown in recent history was Diablo III and Final Fantasy 13. I payed full price for the first, and after about an hour totally regretted it. Torchlight 2 was a much better diablo sequel than the official sequel is. I don't know. Maybe the new expansion will help it out some. I remain skeptical. As for FF13.... I only payed $5 and felt it was a waste of money.

I regret purchasing GTAV, since GTA Online was unlocked 2 weeks after the game went on sale it has consumed my life.
Every time a new free update is released I go nuts, the latest update last week had me spending over 2 million GTA dollars on cars, masks & new clothes.
I'm now broke & am spending all of my free time building up my in game bank account ready for the next free update.
I have loads of games unfinished but every time the Xbox goes on I can only think about playing GTA Online, help me i'm addicted!!!!!!

For the most part i enjoyed Diablo 3, probably because it was my first Diablo game.
But MY GOD that games servers are bloody unplayable. The Australian servers literally dont work. they are laggy and rubber-band all day its terrible.
I was forced to quit 20% into the game because i would hit a monster, and 10 seconds later it would die. thats how laggy it was.

Ive found Path of exile to be an awesome replacement to Diablo, its definitely got the astetic to it and its really highly praised, its won multiple game of the year awards.
Havent tried torchlight 2 myself tho, might have to give it a try as i hear lots of people play it.

- Neverdead. The konami logo actually fooled me, and now I automatically discard anything by Rebellion. The only games I've enjoyed from them is Rogue Tropper and Shellshock 2: blood trails was just a masochistic exercise on my side just for the joy of suffering (And I still enjoyed it more than Neverdead).

- The Eidos complete pack on  Steam: I only have this because It was only 10€ more than the price of just getting Arkham Asylum Alone. A decision I'm still regreting since I feel nothing for like 99% of the games on the bundle.

- Alone In The Dark (Gameboy Color): Actually bought it by the absurd graphics since in the end there would not be a GBC Resident Evil. The combat... Sold it to a neighbour in less than a week.

- Arkham City: I decided I would not play another Batman game after this game. I had it reserved for months before its release, came late, bundled with Games for Windows... I still have a Steam key to give away.

- Grand Theft Auto IV: Rockstar is also blacklisted on my credit card.

- Lucidity: Does anybody even remember this? And it was supposed to come from Lucasarts. Too bad Lucas was a walking corpse long before Disney came

And a lot more, that basically amounts to two boxes of games nobody wants, not even as a gift.

Probably the most boring game ever made.
I'm not knocking it for being a game show adaptation, as my girlfriend and I usually enjoy playing board game, trivia, and game show adaptations together since she's not very good at "hardcore" games, but this was just very poorly executed.

Most recently Raven Squad.  Far Cry 3 runs a close second.  The first two hours of that game almost killed it for me.

Civilization 4 and 5 were both let downs.

But in the grand scheme of things, Doom 3 was probably the biggest let down ever.  Really had high hopes for that one.  The only game in recent memory I paid full price for and and still kicking myself over it.

Now Skyrim - there's a top notch game!

Totally agree with you. But i was lvl 42 and starting the promising extension 'Dragonborn' when my place was robbed and the mean thiefs took my xbox. Now i have to play it all over again.

Battlefield 3 was an epic fail for me. Not the game in itself but i found it too realistic. I love killing aliens and stuff with mighty fire, and most FPS are a bliss but this warlike context was too real for me and made me feel uncomfortable and thinking 'this poor guy I just shot must have a family' (probably also because this war is happening right now, not in a distant past)

Anyone else having troubles with realistic war games ?

I actually have not regretted very many of my game purchases, mostly because most of them were under $40. But I shall list some anyways.

Minecraft
World of Warcraft
Robotech Invasion(think that was it's name)
Far Cry 2
Quake Wars or something like that
The Gameboy Color Rugrats games, never made it past the first level
Halo Wars
Stronghold 2
Everquest 1 and 2

Then there are the games I bought in game currency for, but I won't talk about those(most were Asian games and I wasted years playing them).

Ah, well that would make it unfun real fast.  I'm such a PC gamer, whenever I encounter a game that I really want to play, I either upgrade the system I have as much as possible or build a new maxed out system.   I do this about every 2-3 years.

The most recent build is an 8 core, with 16 gig RAM and 3 Gig Radeon 7950 (dual fan) card - just so I could play Far Cry 3 on max...grin...and Skyrim looks awesome on it too.

Most games with an online (voice)chat component. Things like WoW, I've had some afwul experiences there when Ive used voice comms. People who ask/find out your 'different' and then ridicule you behind your back, because you're a ">-bleeped-<ing >-bleeped-<"

My ever protective brother always stood up for me if things were about to get heated and has never disclosed my gender and has rarely ever mispronounced me when playing with others. So grateful for that because there was always the fear

While I was always seen a interesting, little flirty and intelligent cisgirl in regular chat (I've had my fair share of desperate, clingy boys and men mailing me while I just wanted to be nice and open)
I've only used voicecomms to talk to family since the drama in WoW. I wish it would have gone different

Right, drama aside I DONT regret buying Bejeweled even though it's nauseating  >:-)

Skyrim.  It made me go crazy.  I played the 1st 8 hours of that game, same order and everything, about 20 time or more... literally.  Each time I'd get to a point where the game would glitch in some way and I'd have no idea what to do or just be too unsettled by people talking to mid air to continue.  I'd just start over.  I totally developed OCD over that game.  I eventually broke it accidentally, but sort of freed myself from it I guess.

I prefer Fallout; I'm hoping there isn't a repeat when FO4 is released.  I'm really hoping it takes place in Boston as people are speculating.  I want to shoot up my neighborhood (in game of course).

Far Cry 3.. didn't really take a hold of my interests and my FPS was *SO* bad that I found it hard to enjoy the game.
Witcher 2.. Couldn't get into it either. Weird controls.
LA Noire.. never beat it, it was interesting concept at first but slowly my attention faded away.
Rust.. Pure PvPing isn't really my style and I tend to be the long wolf kind of player, so that didn't mend well when I kept getting ganked by godly players in packs.

Umm.. that's all I can think of right now.

not only the campaign sucks the multiplayer sucks even more and if you forget your password or email you are most likely to not ever get it back
on the second place i cant say its a full regret just a regret of buying it when your pc sucks "battlefield 3" campaign is cool multiplayer is even more cool but the problem? if you got an at least 5 year old pc like i do you are in for a realy mad time as you will lag bug freeze and have others get the best of you

Oh god and Final Fantasy 13. I played a bit of it and then looked up online to see if it got better - only to find that it railroads. until you're nearly done with it, then it gets better? But i didn't want to play half the game and then see it get slightly better. It was only $8, but i gave it back. I miiiight pick it up later, or just watch a lets play. lol

Can i regret an entire console? The Wii.. I played it for the first month or so then got bored with it because I couldn't afford the games for it. I played Wii Sports a LOT

This is exactly how I feel!! I haven't touched mine in at least 2 years!! Such a waste ;)

Oh god and Final Fantasy 13. I played a bit of it and then looked up online to see if it got better - only to find that it railroads. until you're nearly done with it, then it gets better? But i didn't want to play half the game and then see it get slightly better. It was only $8, but i gave it back. I miiiight pick it up later, or just watch a lets play. lol
I've not played this, the last Final Fantasy I played was 12, but the soundtrack to FF13 is so good. Makes me want to play it just to hear it as it was meant to be heard, but not as eager now with what you say, I think I'd probably be content with just appreciating the soundtrack standalone. I'm terrible at video games now, I used to be really good at Final Fantasy, but I don't play as many games these days...definitely looking to get into it more.

I try to purchase my games are doing research but often get a wee bit overexcited about things and end up buying too impulsively.

Sim City: Except for graphical complexity, I'd suggest Sim City 4 is actually outright better and has a plethora of fantastic modification options for cities. Conversely, the most recent incarnation is bland and full of flaws to me, from the poor traffic system to the teeny tiny size of cities constantly restricting creativity.

Final Fantasy X and X-2: I just really dislike these games and can't really explain it. I found VI, VII, VIII, and IX enchanting experiences that made me cry or squee many times. I had none of that with X or X-2, perhaps it's because the story involvement of Tetsuya Nomura was reduced? I don't know but they felt flat, tacky, and tawdry. This is coming from somebody that actually liked the themes present in Final Fantasy XIII despite the appalling linearity and grating characters.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Collector's Edition: While I enjoyed the first few months and actually really adored the lore provided as part of the edition, I may have been a teeny tiny bit overzealous by getting the Collector's Edition in the first place given the unknown longevity of the game at the time. There are only so many games of Hutt Ball and endless yanking of people across stadiums a healer Sith Sorceress can take before snapping.

I actually really enjoyed FF13. I just played it this year for the first time. (I beat it in about 2 weeks, then beat 13-2 in another 2 weeks)
As long as you understand that there really isn't anything wrong with a linear RPG then its great. Surprsingly well paced/ good difficulty etc. Plus the linearity makes you focus on game mechanics and plot, (rather than aimlessly exploring) and it gives an excellent sense of scale because there is no over world distance distortion.
Just pay attention to the plot. So many reviewers day it has hole/doesn't make sense, but that's just because they didn't pay attention.

Back on topic:
I regret purchasing the War Z (the fake Day Z with false advertising on steam). I also regret buying Rift. It just wasn't revolutionary enough to draw me in as an mmo.

I hate to say it, but the one game I regret purchasing the most was also the only game I went to a midnight release for. Diablo 3 on PC.

That being said, I'm very glad I bought it for Xbox a month ago. Every problem I had with the PC version is absent from the console version. I have the Ultimate Evil Edition on pre-order.

Other regrettable purchases: Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe (I only have it still due to the fact it came with the Mortal Kombat movie), Grand Theft Auto V, a PSN version of a Harvest Moon game for PS2 which stripped away everything I like about Harvest Moon, Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, Conker: Reloaded, Kingdoms of Amalur.

I kinda regret buying Dark Souls II....I like high difficulty, but the way multiplayer works is really annoying. I liked putting games on the hardest difficulty and beating them with my friends, but in Dark Souls II the coop features are hard to use and very limited which is just frustrating.

Wow, there sure is a lot of FFXIII hate in here. I don't know why, that one was actually pretty good.

Today, I am going to have to add "Anything bought used from amazon or ebay." Every. Single. One. Every once in a while I tell myself that it's so cheap, it's a deal! This one will work for sure. I never learn. :(

Games I regret purchasing...

Almost anything that was on the Sega CD. Sewer Shark was the worst and now they want to remake Night Trap! What?

Jade Empire (Steam version) if you have Windows 7 or 8 don't bother buying it. The game is great but getting it to work is nearly impossible. The Steam Forums are filled with nasty comments about this but Steam won't let you view that part of the forum until after you purchase the game. There should be a law against that. At least now the reviews are on the main page so they give you a heads up.

i regret getting:

all call of duty games

i grew out of them pretty quickly and now they even disgust me with their over-the-top patriotism, which i think is a dangerous thing one should be wary of. Look where it led Germany (granted, it wasn't that simple, but it was a big part of it all).

Dishonored gives you demigod-like powers so you can actually be really hack & slash if you like. Doing it without killing anyone or being detected, though, is hard. For a true experience / challenge I recommend Thief 2, which excels in terms of sound if one can abide the ~15 years dated graphics.

It doesn't matter if you're good at a game or not. All that matters is if you're having fun! I'm only moderately good at video games and I suck at the more hardcore games, but I still enjoy a lot of them. Sometimes I just go for the easier difficulty.

The second Spectrobes game
Harvest Moon Sunshine Islands and Island of Happiness.  There were things that would've improved the Harvest Moon games, but these games were total garbage.  It's too bad too, some of the boys in that game were really cute.
MySims for the wii, it was so poorly written that it was practically impossible to play beyond a certain point.
Most of the games I regret playing were online games (*COUGHCOUGH*PSO2*COUGHCOUGH*) or free games though :D

If you like the experience, get yourself a nice dark, quiet room and play through Thief 1 and Thief 2.

The second half of Thief 1 gets a little more action-adventure than stealth, so I slightly prefer Thief 2 overall, but they follow the same story and it's extremely well-done. Lots of continuity, numerous often funny sub-plots appear through in-game letters or overheard conversations, a great diversity of world environments, etc. Expert difficulty generally has a kill-nobody objective.

Thief 2 is definitely on my top-10 games ever list. I've spent hundreds of hours playing it.

Ones I regret purchasing would probably be Sacred 2 : Fallen Angel, Fallout 3, GTA IV, and Rage.  Just didn't like them.  Sacred 2 is very restricted in characters, Fallout 3 and Rage are both too far into the future for me to enjoy them being open-world.  Skyrim and the new Dragon Age are/will be much better for me.  As far as GTA...Saints Row >>>>>> GTA. Every time. IMO, anyway.  I like to make a character on there that looks the way I want to after transition.  In IV, choosing the pitch of the voice made it even more realistic for me, too.  I could give them plastic surgery and further their transition.  Plus, SR is, like, hilarious and almost insane in its quality, to me.

Plus Saint's Row is way more fun as well. I also make my character look the way I want to look after transitioning, but I find the clothing options limited in 3/4 compared to 2. 4 was the most fun I think. I just love how they took the GTA/Open World gameplay and then threw out all the rules and said "Here, blow stuff up and have fun".

My only problem is how streamlined and watered down it is. Levels make you think you're being clever finding usually the scripted way they want to be done rather than there being at least several options. There's a cutscene -every time- you knock somebody out, same with every time you open something, flashy hands for all the grabs, etc. And the plot just... felt like it missed the intrigue & twists of the earlier titles - that could kinda be said of Thief 3 as well, but it least it had Shalebridge Cradle, which truly upped the 'terrifying' factor from previous Thief titles. What do you consider Thief 4's high points?

The atmosphere / ambiance can be great, but there are reasons its price dropped 75% within a couple months of release.

Ok fair enough.

I'll add one to this possibly the top game that I genuinely REGRET buying and that is Might & Magic: Heroes 6.

Aside from lousy customer service that involved being stuck with some stupid account name that I was never prompted to create and could not change, not only by the second mission in the primary campaign is your royal player-character implied to have been raped by the antagonist, but even though she's now in safe lands for some reason she also went through with childbirth????

It was so WTFFFFFFFFFFF in terms of introductory storyline I literally have not gone further into the game. Ubisoft butchered the franchise so badly from its original and now introduces garbage like this it's just hard to believe.

I think I've thankfully been quite lucky regarding video game purchases, I'm really having to think which ones I'd say were regrettable...I think probably Morrowind on the Xbox, this was after having played Oblivion on Xbox 360, so the loading times really put me off, I hardly really started it. The music is great though. Perhaps I might have another go at it, though I still haven't played Skyrim yet, that'll take priority.

Remember getting Vagrant Story on the Playstation, though for some reason I ended up returning it without having played it...not sure how this happened now, because it's always looked like a pretty good game to me.

Bad idea. While Morrowind was my favorite of the Elder Scrolls games, the console version was just terrible. The later games worked well enough on consoles, but Morrowind should only be played on PC where it shines.

I honestly think it's way better than Skyrim (and the Dragonborn DLC has a LOT of nods to Morrowind)

I def regret purchasing a 3DS. I basically bought it only for Animal Crossing New Leaf and pokemon Y and while I loved both of those, it wasn't worth it when there wasn't anything else I wanted it for. But, on the bright side, I traded it in a while back and got a ton of 360 games with the money.

I really don't like Dishonored. I wanted very very much to like it, but I just didn't like it, I don't even know why. So that one I kind of regret.

Also the Mass Effect series, but only because it took me on a journey that crushed my soul and ruined me for every other video game ever made.

Ok, will definitely try to play Morrowind on PC soon - thanks all. :) Thankfully PC specs shouldn't be much of an issue since it's pretty old now, I think my computer would just meltdown if I tried to play Skyrim on it as it is, but hopefully should be ok with Morrowind. Yes I definitely remember at the time I bought it (Morrowind on Xbox) that it was considered generally better than Oblivion, this was way before any hint of Skyrim. You'd be surprised... I have a pretty decent gaming rig... It's from 2010 and it still holds up... Yet Morrowind with all the updates, high-res textures packs and a few mods to improve graphics and usability can bring it to a crawl during loading screens... (Thankfully not so much in game..)

It's still a great game, and the best in the TES series (The only one I liked actually.. Oblivion I found extremely boring and uninspiring.. And Skyrim simply felt like a mod of the prior..)

Let me suggest you at least get the MGSO (Morrowind Overhaul) mod pack and have all the latest patches for a better experience.

As for the game I most regret buying... Well.. I don't really regret any as I've always checked them out before purchasing.... But.... I do regret spending money on boosts for Plants vs Zombies 2 x.x

I think what I regret more than having bought a bad game is selling my Wii that I had downloaded a lot of games on. I rented a Dead Space game once for Wii (thankfully didn't buy it), but it puts you on a track. If I'd wander off to find ammo it would pull me away and zip me back on the track. Not cool.

Has anyone regretted buying a game that is collectively considered very good like Skyrim, Borderlands, Resident Evil, etc?

Yep, matter of fact I had a friend round the other day that saw my copy of FFVI for the SNES, he started telling me how he loved Final Fantasy and played X-2 over and over again... (It was the only one he knew)... I felt so tempted to give him a copy of Baldur's Gate and say: "Play a real RPG..." *shakes head* lol

I have yet to play it, and it came with my FFX HD, so I'll play it and hope it winds up being like FFVIII which a lot of people hated but I loved. Same with Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories.

Morrowind is like my fav game of all time...

Regrets - Full price Brink and CoD: Ghosts. Just horribly over hyped for terribad games. For a long time I regretted buying Borderlands 1 because i beat it so quickly and the ending was just mega-lame, but BL2 makes up for it.

I'd imagine it's hard to wrap your head around how revolutionary Morrowind was at release unless you were playing it like 12 years ago when it was this shiny new game. But I really recommend it, especially if you can handle slightly dated graphics. The atmosphere and exploration factor (no fast-travel) combined with lots of lore / reading make it an exceptional game.

Skyrim has some truly splendid graphics at times, but it's very action/combat focused and really plays as if made for console. Of course I don't regret getting Skyrim, it just doesn't quite do it for me. Morrowind felt a lot more mysterious and combat felt so secondary to everything, so the Skywind mod is probably going to be all the more interesting.

Of course this omits Oblivion (excellent game) and Elder Scrolls Online. I definitely recommend the former - the latter was very far from finished/tested at release and has a similar console-design feel to Skyrim. The developers are basically scumbagging the PC population into doing all their beta testing for them so they have a finished product for console release :/ But that's a project of ZOS, a small subsidiary of Bethesda, not the fine teams who brought us earlier Elder Scrolls games!

Well Morrowind does have a couple fast travel options, like Silt Striders and Boats, but you actually have to go to them, so the only fast travel you can use in the middle of no where is Almsivi and Divine Interventions to go to the nearest Temple/Fort things...What I loved most is no stupid quest marker they introduced in the later games, enabling players to just spam through conversations and run towards the shiny white triangle. I much preferred Morrowind where you actually had to read the conversations and your journal to figure out where the hell to go. Also, you could kill main characters and ruin the storyline forever, lol.

And I agree with you on ESO, it was fun...but not the Elder Scrolls quality was was led to believe it would be. I went back to Swtor after a week. Lol

I definitely regret buying the Xbox version of morrowind. But in no way do I regret the three copies of the PC version I bought.

Someone mentioned the MGSO for morrowind, and in my opinion, with the settings maxed on that mod, the game actually looks better than skyrim. (Granted on those settings even my PC drops to 4-8 fps)... I can run skyrim in ultra with 100 mods,  it morrowind with mgso just chokes my machine :(

Haha, yeah, my Steam library has 81 games, but I doubt I've played more than 20. I used to love TF2 so much, played competitively! As far as DOTA 2 I play LoL.

At least i got Borderlands 2 for $5, that was worth it!

That's what makes it so hard to resist! I'd pay $5 for even mediocre games, but when good games I wouldn't normally play are that cheap, I feel obligated to make the purchase. Then I don't play them, but at least I have them in my library for when I'm bored. Haha

Fallout: New Vegas

I played 10 minutes of this game before the lack of immersion just killed it for me. There was so little dialogue and just the fact that everyone walked through walls and had 500 dollars cash all the time was horrible. I am ashamed to say that I bought this back when it came out, and for the full price. Horrible, horrible game.

I would put Rage here too, but I bought it for $5 at best buy two months after the release so I can't complain. :D That was the Anarchy edition too.

Ohhh New Vegas...I got for 2.75 on Steam sale, played a few hours of it, but it just was in no way as good as Morrowind or even Fallout 3 and I definitely got bored with the storyline and lack of variety in sidequests. And any cool items worth a damn were so incredibly high level and overpriced and required DLC so i got bored fast.

i regret paying for most of the games i own.  especially wasted money on pre-orders since i end up not being able to take advantage of early access, or to games on the first few days mostly.

right now what do i regret though?  at the beginning of summer while i was stuck at home from my accident my roommate bought wow for me that i played for a little over 2 months.  (2 months to get my mistweaver main to 566 ilvl almost entirely from pug groups with me as the better healer and to start failing at my search for heroics before i stoped)  while i was active i pre-ordered warlords of draenor.... which is now active, but i let my subscription expire and no longer have the spare money for a sub...  so i now own a game, i bought 4-5 months ago, and dont intend on playing for quite a while now.  waste of money.

oh. yea, sim city.  bought it on pre-order, played it once, didnt bother again.

same with rome 2 total war.

ff14 arr.  i pre-ordered.  i pre-ordered and they sent the pre-order as a physical disk, so i didnt get to play my pre-ordered game till after it had been out for almost 3 weeks.

eliete dangerous i have ordered already and was in the beta, i logged in to see what it looks like... and now the icon is sitting in the middle of my screen saying PLAY ME!  but i dont have the time for it... other priorities now lol.

I regret purchasing Team Fortress Classic. My PC is an old one and this game runs fine, except for the fact that every time a rocket is shot or an explosion happens, my game drops to about 5fps for the entire time the missile is moving or the explosion animation is occurring. So yeah, bad purchase. Also it's a really difficult game to play because menus are hidden under the Shift key and the B key and all kinds of weirdness.

I don't know. I think it was about as good as Civ V was before Civ V got two expansions that really fleshed it out. I don't regret buying it at all, especially since the modding community is already active on it and I was able to add in all the Alpha Centauri factions into the game. :D

I regret buying that game 100%. I've never played civ before. I didn't get it. I got board. I played it once for about 8 hours. I don't see ever touching it again. One thing I hated about it is how worthless the armies are. I send my fairly sizable army to the enemy and barely dent anything. They send their armies against me and barely dent anything. I can even let them attack me for a while, bring in my army from the other side of the game then wipe them out and my buildings are like brand new. I like RTS type games, but this just didn't do it for me.

At launch? I've seen people say on ALL platforms its actually worse now than it was at launch. This is why you don't pre-order video games unless its been reviewed by someone you trust. I don't recall if my goto source got to it before or not, but when he reviewed it, it was obvious this game was never going to amount to anything.

I was disappointed in Godus too but I kind of expected it since Molyneaux seems to have been on a downward slope for awhile now. I remember when he was developing Fable 2 and he put his underwear up on E-bay. That was weird. I keep yelling at him to make another Black & White game and then I remember he doesn't work at Lionhead anymore :(

Game I regret buying: L.A. Noire
I got this when it was brand new. The open world stuff was alright but I felt like the investigation gameplay was really off. I'd select doubt thinking that my guy would be sneaky, clever or at the very least subtle but he would end up yelling at the person like a mad man with no evidence to back up his statements. It was really frustrating. I was never really great at detective games anyways. I sold it when I got rid of my X-Box but occasionally I get the urge to pick it up. I'll probably buy it when it's like a few dollars on Steam.

Bullet Witch. $4 and I knew it would be bad, but bad games are fun for me so I gave it a go. It's pretty much unplayable, since you get one small map and the enemies don't respawn. I cleared the area and was left to wander the area alone, since the only NPCs were the enemies.

Also, the original Dragon's Dogma. I found out after the first time I finished that there was a re-release containing all of the DLC for the same price as the original game, which I ended up also buying since the game is pretty good. I just regret that I now own two copies of the same game. Looks good on my shelf, though, so that's something.

Mixed feelings on the PS4. Last game I played was last of us. However I use it for netflix everyday. I was using a PC with a remote before. There are pros and cons to both, but I think the PS4 makes netflix work just a little bit easier. I had been hoping the order was going to be good, but then they told us the framerate was crap. Then we found out that is way too short. sigh..... At least I played Life is Strange on PC. That is one of the best games I've played in probably 5+ years.

Devil May Cry, HD Collection — PlayStation 3. It's the compilation of the first three games in the series.

I hadn't played any Devil May Cry games before, and I wanted to see what they were all about.
I thought they were awful. The first game was just button-mashing from one room to the next, it had terrible camera angles, and it had no story, or a very badly written story. I just kept playing it to the end, hoping it would get better, but I was underwhelmed.

I wasn't impressed with the second game either. About the only improvement I found was that there were two playable characters.

Here's what confuses me: when I read the reviews, I keep seeing a lot of praise for the first game. I just don't understand what people see in it.
What confuses me even further is that everyone seems to hate the second game. I don't understand why it was any worse. I thought they were equally bad.

The saving grace was the third game. It had a much better story, a more well told story. A story that made sense.
Also, the camera movements were improved greatly.
It was the only playable game in the compilation, but that's not saying much.

Have you finished ME3? If so what did you think of the ending?

Personally I thought ME3 was the worst in the series. Yes in many ways the story felt more immersive, but I didn't like the lack of dialog choices. I ABSOLUTELY DESPISED the ending. I actually have played that game twice. The second time the revised endings were available. They still sucked. I was convinced I knew how that game was going to end. I just didn't know the details. Boy was I wrong.

I liked DA 2 better because of the combat changes and all, but I don't like that you HAVE to be a human.  The storyline was good, the combat was good, all that, but DA 1 is better (to me) in the way that you can be more than just a human.

In DA:I, I'm a Qunari all the way.  I even plan to have the Qunari symbol tattooed on me. (Huge BioWare fanboy here!)

For me it would be Age of Conan, I ordered it online while playing the trial version. I think I quit around level 20 and never opened the box when it came. I still have it in the wrapper somewhere.

The Secret World would be my #2. I loved the theme behind the game but the art style did not work for me. :c

Pokémon white and Pokémon platinum for the DS. I never ended up finishing either. I felt like Platinum was just a ripoff with too many similarities to D&P, and I found it quite hard to progress in White for some reason. I actually really enjoyed D&P and B&W2, though!

I've refused because it doesn't seem like a game. Its seems like its more of a builder. I have a much better builder called Unreal Engine 4 and a couple of years ago Unreal Development Kit (which was basically UE3).

I don't like Minecraft either, but I like a lot of the concepts! Terraria was great, and inspired by minecraft.

Terrarria felt more like a SNES game. It was barely a builder, but felt a LOT more like a game. Unfortunately I never had anyone to play it with and gave up on it. Its obvious to me that its really more of a co-op game.

I regret EA UFC...TWICE. I hoped it would be better the second time. I was wrong. I did the same thing expecting a different result.

Also, I kind of regret buying my PS4 FOR NOW, mainly because there really aren't any (that many) good games out yet. I AM excited for Mankind Divided though.

It's been a looong time since I regretted buying a game, as I do my utmost best to fully research and seek out information before buying.  Made plenty of blind picks during the PS2 era, so in regards to regrets...Gauntlet:Seven Sorrows...what a POS game, especially after Gauntlet:Dark Legacy (which is perhaps one of my favorites of all time).  With how expensive games can be, I try to really grind down if a game is worth buying or not :p!

There was a Lunar game on DS (Dragon Song, I think). It was soo bad, so many little things that pissed me off. It wasn't fun, first of all, and then, running around on the map consumes mp, which is just a ridiculous concept especially when it doesn't regenerate. Second, You can't pick which enemy you hit, so there's no element of strategy. Oh and armor deteriorates. And it tried having voice commands, but because I played it somewhere noisy, it would just not allow me to do much cuz it kept messing up, and there was no way to turn off the voice commands! There was more too.. but yeh, that was a disappointing experience.

Max Payne 3. Horrible experience being made to 'socialize', and I also remember having to complete registration and watching the intro in ridiculously low resolution and fps until I could finally change the settings. I think the last game I bought that I truly regretted buying was Bullet Storm. It looked fun, and it was one of the first games that you had to buy new or pay a fee to play a used version online, and the game was horrible. Single player wasn't bad, but REALLY short, and the multiplayer just wasn't fun. It was 3-4 levels of extreme repetitiveness that got old fast and only 1 game type. I think the good reviews it had was because it would get you a beta copy of Gears of War 3's multiplayer- which I honestly didn't care about.

I bought Skyrim and all three DLCs individually shortly before Legendary Edition came out. Real slap in the face. I hadn't heard any news of a GotY version, like its predecessors got, so when Gamestop offered a super deal on the PC versions, I jumped on it...and then here comes LE and I'm like SERIOUSLY!?

Oh, and then for Christmas that same year I was given the entire Elder Scrolls Anthology  :icon_userfriendly: so I spent all that money on the PC version of the base game and DLCs only to turn around and get them in the Anthology

The games I regret are on Steam.. Some of them are still in early development but as of the current state I regret them..

Ark [Survival MMO 70 people per server]- Too slow even on low settings (guess my computer doesn't handle it well), and the people are mean as hell if you play online. I rage quit the other night because some dude acted like he was going to help me and then killed me :(. I just told him he was an ass and he was like welcome to the world. So I was like alright have fun with my junk and quit. It's fun by yourself but it gets boring after awhile. It needs more places you can go to besides the one island. The dinosaurs on the other hand are SCARY as hell sometimes. I think once I can play it like a normal person on better settings and they add more stuff, I won't regret it.

7 Days to Die [Survival "Horror" MMO]- Again another game that's slow. Not many people on to play with. Graphics are meh, nothing special. Gets you a little creeped out though.

Goat Simulator [Open World Goatness]- This game was pretty fun for a bit but then after going around and doing most of it I got bored quick. There are only two levels from what I saw and that was it.

TERA [MMORPG]- I was into this game for about a week or two until I got to level 30, I didn't want to group up (I feel more accomplished by myself) and the community is just a bunch of perverts looking for ERP, or talking about really nasty fetishes, OR they are just a bunch of kids that say ignorant things to piss people off. At 30 every quest seemed to involve killing elite enemies and I just don't have the skills or the patience for it. Character customization was really stupid too. I also really hated the fighting style.. The combos and stuff were really cool but I felt like I had no control over it.  This game is free to play but I feel like they try making you buy crap. I regret DOWNLOADING it.. I'd rather have my two weeks of life back :p

Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for Playstation 2 was my most anticipated game of 2005.  Unfortunately it lacked the instant action single player mode (I prefer single player over online) that all the previously released battlefield games had at that time and it ended being the worst 50 dollars ever spent.

The games I regret purchasing most are the countless non-specifics that I buy but never get around to playing. The worst thing is that I buy them when they come out because I am excited for them, not because they are on sale, so it is not like I am saving any money on them. At least I am kind of supporting the developers I suppose, but I fear I may never get around to playing the likes of The Banner Saga, Tharsis, Armello, or The Witcher III, to name a few.

I also had a SEGA Saturn growing up. Somehow its internal storage damaged and it was no longer able to save games, which isn't the end of the world, but in the Saturn's case it meant games simply wouldn't work at all. Tomb Raider, Nights, Resident Evil, Scud, and a few others were all regrettably bought with my allowance and never managed to load thanks to that. The ones that did work ended up being immediate regrets like Bug Too and Creature Shock for how dreadfully dull they were. At least it still played Virtua Fighter II, Panzer Dragoon, and World Series Baseball II right up until it finally died :(

I know many people consider it a classic, but I only recently started playing it on my New 3DS.

Assassin's Creed 3. Maybe it's just one of those games that starts out slow, but I can't seem to play it for more than a few minutes at a time without boring myself to death. I've owned it for months and have barely made it to the second sequence. Not to mention the whole storyline is so confusing, I don't know what half of the stuff on the menu even means, and something about the gameplay itself is just unsatisfying.

Iv'e payed 30$'s on a game that couldn't run on my computer and at the time i was okay with that because i new in the future i'd plan on having a better computer. That better computer came along which is basically a gaming computer and that game still can't run and it should be working so it's a horrible game it lags and i'd never suggest it to anybody unless they'd want to risk that much money and have it maybe not work.

Iv'e also spent 40$'s knowing in the future i could use it
lucky that one worked lol
ever hear of a person shopping when they are down or stressed out? Well that's me with games it's a bad habit. Video games as a child was something the male children did around my area and growing up i wasn't allowed to do male things rarely if ever so my way of coping and being secret about it was playing video games it went unsuspected and it worked for me to feel a little happyier even if it wasn't a lot. Now a day's it's my passion i just love games.

I could see how it would be fun because I do like strategy games, but I didn't find the story entertaining at all. Not to mention the English voice acting... yikes.

I've rented games from gamefly that I hated immediately. Assassins Creed, and Grand Theft Auto. Thank god I didn't buy them to try out.

But games that I bought and almost instantly regretted:

Solar Jetman (NES)
Mickey's Epic (Wii)
Guitar Hero (Wii)
Clash At Demonhead (NES)
Final Fantasy 13 (PS4)
Diablo 3 (PS3)
X-Men Origins Wolverine (PS3)
NHL 11 (PS3)
Gothic 3 (PC)
WoW (PC)
Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)
D&D 3rd edition (I know its not a video game, but thought I would add it.)
FF9 (PS3)

And there was one game, I don't remember the title, that I bought, and 30 minutes later was back at GameStop returning it. Oh, my god, it was the worst game ever thought up. I'm actually kinda glad I don't remember the title.

One game I love, but can't play is Soul Caliber 2. It sets me off so quick it's unbelievable. My in-laws bought me a Ford vs Chevy racing game. I thought "What the hell?". I don't like racing games with the exception of MarioKart. F-Zero on SNES was ok, but not really my thing. As for NHL 11, don't get me wrong, I'm a total hockey nut, but the game just sucked. FF9 was WAY too cartooney for my taste. I think I have FF X and X2 somewhere but I've never played them enough to give them a fair shot. But the absolute best Final Fantasy game that has been made is FF8. The story line, the underlying love story, It's just amazing and beautiful. I have probably over the years logged at least 1,000 hours playing it. And the song "Eyes On Me"? Absolutely gorgeous.

I'm sure that's not all the games that I bought and regretted, but it's all I can think of at the moment.

Also I see a lot of people talking about Steam. I've never heard of Steam. What is it? Is it like steampunk stuff? A little clarity please.

The game I most regret purchasing was actually one I purchased for my 12th birthday.  I had gotten a total of about $70 for my birthday, and (on the terrible recommendation of my friends, at the time) spent it all on the NES game "Friday the 13th."  I have never regretted buying a game so much, ever.I truly think the Atari Superman and ET games were better.

Aw, come on, Friday the 13th was awesome! Especially when Jason would jump out of no where and attack.

It's an app to download games. And it keeps track of your achievements. Even dvds I buy have steam codes and they are added to steam.

I have no idea where steam games are stored on my pc though. I can see just the desktop shortcut.

Ok, I'm an idiot. I totally misread that post, and got my numerals mixed up. I agree that Final Fantasy 13 was a waste of Square Enix's time. I believe it totally flopped within a month. No one wanted it.

The best way I can think to describe it is like Netflix for games, except not :P You have to pay for each individual game instead of a monthly fee, but there is a huge (albeit limited) library of games from various developers all in one place. There's also a kind of social media aspect involved, like you can add friends who can all see what you're playing and what games you own. It's quite expansive, actually, I would definitely recommend checking it out if you're into PC gaming at all.

Also, Innowave, the games are stored in a Steam folder in program files

Wouldn't GameFly be a better solution? It's run exactly like Netflix. I think it's actually owned by Netflix. You pay a fee every month based on how many games you want to get at once, there's no official due date, and they have probably well over a full million different games.

Assassins Creed: Black Flag, I just couldn't get into it, and I never really have a ton of money, so I regret it

Aladdin, When I bought it for my 6 year old son there was no going back. The bug set in. He attends several competitions each year and it is not uncommon for him to spend the entire weekend playing games.

With new game releases come new regrets.  This time, I am regretting buying Sims 4, Bad Apple Wars, and L.A. Noire!

Oh God. Where do I even begin? The games that outright sucked, the games that I never got around to playing, or the ones that I wound up clearing out in a day?

Though on consideration I've done very well about not regretting game purchases in 2017! This past year I've only had one regret, Cave Story+ for the Switch. Great game, but I paid 4 times the going rate everywhere else for a game that is really old just to have something besides Zelda for the console when I first picked it up back in June or so. Previous years were loaded with endless examples of games I didn't have time for, or only played so far after release they were down to 10-20 bucks after I paid full price.

What are some of the games you regret buying, especially at full price?

Just guess how many times...... ;D! Some of them so embarrassing I don't feel comfortable to reveal even on this forum!!! Many games just suck so bad...

One memorable comes to mind: buying Uncharted 3 as a gift (!!!) instead of Assassin's Creed........! Man that game sucked so bad.............

Fortunately though I don't usually buy them at full price...!

Warning: NEVER buy a game before seeing some videos on it.......!

Many have really been a hit & miss!

Even good/decent/somewhat playable games have sucky parts in them. Don't know what the game designers are thinking!!!

My most recent regret is Dishonored: Death of The Outsider. While I'm way, way into Billie Lurk as a protagonist, the game itself broke with all of the things I loved about Dishonored and 2. Character building, the chaos system, new game plus, the cruddy final levels... Billie deserved a better game to star in.

None they all helped distract me at the time I need them. Wish it was still like that but I guess now I'm facing reality

I used to obsessively play FF 10 I'd even play in the blitz(?) tournaments. Pokemon was another one and the sims. I loved rpgs, a lot of them were my big brothers'

I forget the name, but the first game I ever bought with my own money was this awful Yu-Gi-Oh game for Xbox. I loved the show when I was a kid so when I saw it at blockbuster I was super jazzed about it cause I thought it'd be just like that and it ended up just being a really boring, barebones card game with screen caps  from the anime. I was bitter for weeks >_<

Hey, sorry for the late reply!  Ugh, I remember getting Uncharted 3 on Black Friday.  I was SO happy, that I literally just hung around that area in Best Buy until all the copies were gone, lol.  That game was such a let down.

My biggest regret was Rocket League because my very first match put me against high ranking players and games after that weren't any better and I just thought what kind of a crappy matchmaking system is this?
Just had a hard time getting into it when not knowing what I'm doing yet and constantly getting beat up by higher leveled players.

Also been disliking Battlefeild 1 for similar reason. Just don't like spawning and then dying right away by getting shot by someone in the back that I have no idea where they came from XD
Been trying to still get into it anyways but idk. Don't play it that often.

Homebrew - Patent Unknown

I only payed $5 for it, but the controls are so awful that it's practically unplayable.

Final Fantasy 13 is one of them, Great game dont get me wrong. But it literally is an interactive book nothing like the other final fantasy's.

There are a number of odd games I cant remember and a few online games I regret but other than that if it was a hard copy game I probably sold them lol
